When the government figures out that cars are lasting longer I'm sure they will close that loop hole

Is there a fuel cut off switch on these motors?

Still not been into BP since this thread but guess I'll stick with Optimax. 100 octane sounds a bit more like it.

Blackmail - or "Driver Improvement Programme"

It's just typical these days. Yes we make mistakes and I'm guessing that based on the number of miles we all do it would seem that apart from one or two mistakes(that have to be expected hence insurance) its just down to luck. But I guess you should pay as the insurance over the next three to five years (that you have to declare) it will cost you more. -
Sounds like an alarm over-ride of some sort

One last thing is the car Garaged over night. My exhaust is not perfect and its only done 38'000. I bet quick fit would go bust if everyones exhausts last that long. Good work fella

I have a shell points card. Now apart from bonus points the number of liters of fuel used relates to the number of points on my card. The number of litres of fuel I go thru is scary. I dont want to calculate how much I spend on this.

nice cars I hope you dont drive them all every week washing them all on a Sunday would take all day.

lol I can see them 8) But the question should have read how low can you go or do you just wait for grinding noise as suggested. I can see the fronts but the rears are a bit harder to spot. I figured taking the wheel off would do it was looking for something easier. Would hand break travel be a good indicator ( I know that they stretch) I have pads in the cupboard just being Scottish and all want to get the most out of these ones lol thanks for the suggestions

"Notify me on" I keep losing posts that I'm intersted in Sorry

I get the same on mine never see over 22mpg even when doing the reset at 56 mph it will go up slightly but not much. I done a 300 mile trip from Glasgow to Derby and filled up, worked out at over 30mpg on paper. I dont have much faith in the MFA mpg readings. You can look at the sns web site and you get the current reading i.e. not the average on one of the settings. Even when doing this my reading where poor. This points again to the fact that the MFA is way out. Let me know how you get on when you get the car tested as I may have to follow. But 'm of the opinion that the MFA on my car (which is standard) is way out. I'll be mad as hell if my car has been running rich for 3 years (The thought of how much I have wasted on petrol would drive me nuts    ) Can you tell from the MOT readings if the car is running rich? Chhers
