  1. Oh mate. You're not having much luck since buying the VR! Sympathy. Maybe karma will ensure that someone does the same to them!
  2. Yes, sensible call made here I think mate. I'm sure that in the end you'll be happier driving something that's even more fun but which is missing the badge. I'm not Storm bashing, I can understand the desire to own one, but in an everyday sense, the extra fun that the spare cash could put in the VR is considerable!
  3. Oh come on, someone's got to say it... Holy Thread Resurrection Batman! Four years?!?!?!?!?!
  4. Pure class! Really makes you believe in karma.
  5. Storms fetch more than any other Corrado, even though they're not any superior to any other VR in performance terms. That rarity value and the fact that they're the ones which people with limited familiarity with the Corrado name have all heard of mean that they command an extra grand or two. Your G60 would certainly be worth a bob or two with such low mileage though!
  6. This has got to be the best comeback yet: "WOW, I was directed here from the forums of Wombferret.net I refuse to take the piss as I to had an almost identical crash in my wide bodied R32, nearly 800 bhp, awsome car in everyway. I had come off a bend and hit the straight, through the gears, the blow off valve and induction in perfect harmony, I remeber it like it was yesterday, I was close to doing a sex wee when disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cat jumped onto my lap knocking the PS2 controler out of my hand and wallop bye bye Skyline. At least I had the satisfaction of drop kicking the hairy little fucker over next doors fence. Chin up Drifty, I feel your pain.!"
  7. That. Is. Brilliant. Best laugh I've had in ages!
  8. Count me in for plug and play please.
  9. :? maybe its just me, but my G seems quite happy sitting at 30 in 5th! plant the throttle and she will pull all the way to silly numbers. Shes much happier doing low speeds in 5th than my old MK2 CL.[/quote:6a877] Yes, I went from a Mk II CL to my VR and it's much happier sitting at 30 in 5th and cruising round town, but equally happy cruising at 90 in 5th on the motorway.
  10. I'd go with VR6. Dignified, considered, rational and deserved.
  11. The noise. Oh God, the noise. Put it into third, pulled out to overtake a turgid people carrier with a quarter mile straight in front of me clear of traffic, and put the boot in. The power came smoothly up to 3000 rpm and then the noise and the power...
  12. I travel bang on 25 miles to work, which is mostly motorway, then an entertaining blat up some twisty A roads. I end the trip averaging about 31 mpg. On longer motorway runs I CAN get the kind of figures that are being quoted above by Rodders et al but like double-6s, I enjoy the performance of the VR a bit too much to get that all the time!
  13. When some arsehole tea-leaves broke into my Mk II, they did the old can opener job around my driver's door handle. I took it to a body shop down by the Fownes Hotel car park, just off City Walls Road as you head towards the lights in Sidbury and the Cathedral. They came recommended by my mechanic, who's always seems to have good contacts. They didn't come cheap but they repaired the damage expertly, so you'd never know it had happened. It was that very pale mint green that Mk IIs came in, which would've shown if the paint wasn't perfectly matched, but it was. The chap there was most friendly and content to come and have a good old butcher's at the damage to assess and quote. I'd recommend them. They are apparently quite good for servicing 'dubs anyhow.
  14. You poor bloke. You have my sympathy, they're absolute arseholes.
  15. 16/19. But that's only because I was looking. In most cases, I would surely not have seen them until they would have seen me.
  16. Looking good Dave. Particularly good work combining your prowess with a camera with that of the mechanic; gives the rest of us a much more involved view on things.
  17. Yes, the VR's going in for its M.O.T. on Friday, fingers crossed!
  18. Hear hear Nick. We've gone from a society that once turned a blind eye to this sort of thing (even during my parents' lifetime) to one which thankfully views it as being totally taboo. Say what you like about the roads in this country, it's still one of safest and best mannered places in the world to drive. Pity is, some standards are declining and tosspots like this cretin would seem to want us to regress.
  19. Welcome! Nice looking VR, hope to spot that in Worcester soon!
