  1. Mines a ballache to keep on top of
  2. only buy one IF you fully understand the consequences. 1) Random problems that occur for no reason 2) Expensives fixes 3) The inability to sell it no matter how much you want to 4) If you do manage to stump up the courage to sell it, you'll be in another one within 6 months Welcome
  3. I think petrol would be the main problem, and the fear of furher increases. Someone could buy a VR6 now, then the price of petrol prises by say, another 20p, and they'll REALLY struggle when they come to sell it. There is a mint mk4 R32 over on E38, but its just not moving, TDI's however are holding their value amazing well. A mate of mine bought a lupo tdi 2yrs ago and has sold it for not much less than the purchase price!
  4. A company in nottingham is charging its employees to use the car park!!!!! Fortunately that will never happen where i work
  5. That's a very nice analogy :) All i need to do now is get mine into a state worth looking at
  6. Yeah, the last two times its rained my car has been covered in crap, whats all that about?!?!?
  7. In a way we have gotten off lightly. Last year petrol was £0.90 a litre and oil was at $50 a barrel. Now oil is at $120 a barrel, and petrol is at £1.10, so it terms of oil price rises we've not done too bad. Then you have to consider the fact that oil is likely to hit $200 by the end of the year, and all this is only not hitting us because of the weak dollar. IF the dollar increases AND oil hits $200 a barrel then things will go seriously tits up!
  8. I just caught a peek of the front cover and spotted it, might be worth flicking thru next time you're around HMV. Is there anymore news on the Abarth model? I've heard rumours of a 150BHP and a 180BHP SS version, which would be entertaining in a car that size!
  9. Well said that man, still slow though  In all fairness though i love mine, although the gearbox is beginning to feel its age!
  10. I noticed in the shops today that there is a Fiat 500 on the front cover of max power, i think its been done by a tuning company, so might be worth a look. I didnt get to have much of a gander myself, but might pop out and buy it later.
  11. Im still feeling an Abarth Fiat 500 to be fair, i'd get rid of the rado for that
  12. I also suffer from 'slow valver syndrome', not fun. I love my car, but its just toooooooo slow.
  13. I think the best suggestion was what Marcus said. Why not revamp the rado, stick a more modern engine in it, but keep the corrado looks 8) Sounds like the best of both worlds to me. Quite possibly the best solution. My parents want me to spend around £5k on a new car, but if i put £5k into the rado it'll be ten times better than a newer one! It had a rebuild last year so for £5k i'd be looking at a turbo for the KR lump, respray and a bloody good chassis upgrade! Problem is would i wanna use it as a daily after that? hmmmm
  14. Ahhh, a common problem for all rado drivers. Sometimes i would like a newer car with some more power (having a valver now), but then the problem with that is the selling of the rado, which i dont wanna do, so i end up stuck with the rado again, never ending circle, i want something newer, but dont wanna sell the rado, hmmmmm
  15. I get sketchy with mine everytime something goes wrong, does my nut in, but then when its running nicely its the best thing ever. I see soooo many cars that i would like to own at some point, but probably wont, because that'll mean not owning a rado too
  16. Running an eton amp in the boot. Im thinking its something to do with the headunit connnections. If you push the right hand side of the headunit it gets quieter, which leads me to believe some kinda of loose cable or metal connection somewhere, hmmm
  17. I get this, slight interference that alters with revs, was told it could be a dodgy RCA connection.
  18. I admire it for what it is, but also at the same time i dont see the point of it. Once it gets to that stage its no longer a 'car' in my opinion. Still looks mighty impressive though
  19. DAAAAAAAMN, i'd be heart broken if that happened to mine, spent faaaar too much for it to return the favour by setting on fire! Im off to buy a fire extinguisher!
  20. Could have been worse, it could have fallen off! I spent my day telling people in my office that my corrado is much better than their mondeo's etc. So we all walk out to our cars at the same time and i start mine, only to find ALL the indicators are constantly on, not flashing, just on! So i stop the car, turn the alarm on then off again, re-start it, and they remain on. So i have to drive out the car park past everyone in my office like this. Excellent!
  21. I dont think i'll ever sell mine. I had a wobble myself a few months back, started looking at ibiza cupra's and things because i was sick of mine letting me down all the time. However, i think now that with my improved financial situation if my rado stopped being my daily it would become a project instead, not only do i not want to sell it, its getting to the point where its not worth selling it! Although i think the well looked after ones will flourish. Take a look at the mk3 escort xr3i as an example, naff ones go for £300, well looked after ones go for £4k+
  22. TDI 150, but finding 3door models is fun. If not i'd go for an anniversary model, but they fetch silly money in comparison to the standard 1.8T's
  23. My car is completely standard and so far all my money has been spent on getting it into better standard condition, such as sorting out bits of bodywork, replacing various bits and pieces. Having said that mine is only a 1990 valver, so keeping it standard probably wont make any difference at all to its value
