1 can of coke per 0.7miles is a huge amount. How many cars do we have in the world, and how many miles do they cover? Also, power stations on the moon??!?! How the hell does that work?

New Scirocco pics (in the flesh ooo-err)
skinnyman9000 replied to cymru-corrado's topic in General Car Chat
VW missed a HUGE trick with this car. The front and rear look like they're off too different cars, and the interior is just shite i think. Take a look at the door cards. What is that stupid triangular door handle about? And then there is a poxy square slab for the speaker pod, laziness -

Things Mechanics' say to fill you with confidence?!

I rang an 'engine specialist' about a possibly rebuild on my valver. I explained it was a 1990 valver, KR lump, same as in the mk2 golf. His reply was "ah yes, is it the turbo or the diesel model?" Suffice to say he didnt get the job! Some people might say its harsh to expect him to know this, but you would have thought an 'engine specialist' would have seen a KR lumo before! -
I suppose to the average man you do sound rather, erm, odd when saying "i drive a racing puma"

Plans? 2.2 Zetec Turbo?

Hydrogen cars will be perfect as company cars/rep mobiles etc, but i have to agree with the comment above. Ok we wont be chucking co2 into the atmosphere, but cars account for around 2%, so it wont have a massive impact, but what will it do to the world's weather when we release bucket loads of water into the weather systems?

For me, the 1.8L is an old car, and feels like an old car. Whereas the 2.0L tries to be more modern, but just fails. Thats my call on it anyway, much prefer the earlier interiors

BMWoah my god! (and Corsaaah my eyes!)
skinnyman9000 replied to The_Dude's topic in General Car Chat
Oh dear god, my eyes, my eyes!! The bodyshop should have refused to do that to his car, all the bodyshops in the world should have refused. See, i think its daft that euro boys get pulled for a lil tyre stretch, yet that Corsa is considered 'safe', disgraceful -

I think pics of this corsa are required -
My Plaything for the Weekend - Alfa 147
skinnyman9000 replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
Bloke at work had a new Alfa last year (not sure what model), but the cambelt snapped after just 2k miles, and 6 months after that was sorted the engine seized, noiiiiice -
It would appear that Rado's are all over the shop when it comes to early/late. There are early spec VR's, late spec G60's, and something that i've always found odd is that the production of the scirocco and rado overlapped by a year or two. Luckily everything on mine is early spec, so there is no confusion
-
I much prefer the early interiors to be honest, its the difference between a mk2 and a mk3 golf, which one would you rather be in?

With the build quality and reliability, and dropping prices, a CTR with the view of a turbo installation is a very interesting prospect
-
Cloth? lol, i'd imagine its a ridiculously expensive polymer (and with added 'BMW' tax too)
-
well i was upset with my full engine rebuild costing £1000, but after reading this im rather chuffed

Credit card or credit to hard work?
skinnyman9000 replied to boost monkey's topic in General Car Chat
To be fair when i clicked 'ham and eggs' i was expecting at least 80% to have voted for that. Disappointed lads  -
Those doors are incredible! Question is, IF they reached the real world, what is the fatigue on the material like? Will it still look fresh in 5-10yrs, or will it degrade and just tear? Probably not their prime concern at this stage though

I like the styling, and i appreciate the technology that is in the engines as my dad has a honda too. BUT, i think the major factor with most people is the lack of low torque (i have a valver so i'd be used to it). But i know that a fairly cheap and very good solution is to turbo them, using a small turbo that kicks in nice and early. With a turbo kicking in at 3.5k, and then the vtec higher up, they're an immense machine

I read today that Shell (who made billions and billions last year) made a statement that they were 'concerned about the amount possible to produce over the coming months', as a result oil went up $3 a barrel, bastards

Wife hits garage wall with Corrado! (FIXED NOW!)

Didnt cosworth develop the Cosworth YB? It was a collaboration between Cosworth and Ford, Essentially Cosworth designed head and Ford Pinto'esque bottom end, this was the point i was making,Ford made a strong bottom end on their turbo cars too....... Ah, i get ya. Just that ive heard nothing but disappointment when people have test driven the new Focus ST170 and Fiesto ST. Everyone has said the chassis is really impressive and that the engine let it all down
