A few weeks back all of mine were stuck on (rado). Couldnt get them to turn off, took out the fuse, reset the alarm, all sorts. In the end i disconnected the battery overnight and it was fine was i put it back on in the morning.

Best quote so far is with Brentacre. £480 for full 12 month policy, any mods allowed without increase in price, apart from performance mods, £1000 stereo cover. Just waiting for a call from Chris Knott on Monday which will be the deciding factor. My savings account isn't looking too healthy though so i think i'll be paying around 50% deposit then the rest monthly

Checking of tyre pressure, oil and coolant.
skinnyman9000 replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
oil and coolant every time it gets cleaned, so every weekend effectively. But my tyres are naff, rear one has a bad leak, it was 34psi 2 weeks ago, went down tonight and it was 14, hmmm -
The annoying loose handbrake tunnel cover - a solution!
skinnyman9000 replied to daves16v's topic in Interior
I dont even have the central tunnel or handbrake cover on mine at the minute. Took it off for some handbrake cable adjustment about 2 months ago and havent put it back on yet -
I think she may have put up a few forum members as well. Insurance, that is. By crashing, of course. She actually reversed off the drive into a neighbours car, whilst he was stood on the drive. Quality stuff considering she hasnt crashed in the 12yrs she's been driving!

My mum crashed before crimbo so she has put mine up

I plan on ringing you some time this week when i have some free time at work

Intermittent faults dont have a cause, its just called 'corrado ownership' -

Sunroof - one thing after another. Please help!
skinnyman9000 replied to Neil VR6's topic in Interior
I bought a new sunroof for mine ans spent the weekend with my mate stripping the entire interior. Then it rained so we stuck a cover on the car and came back to it next weekend. i spent hours fine tuning it to sit perfectly, and now after all that effort i dont use it in fear of it breaking! so after spending all that time and effort getting a working sunroof i dont use it anyway! -
I can remember when i replaced my throttle cable, i took the seat out and ended up lying down on the floor with my head upside down under there, was very comfortable  I think this is more than likely going to get added to the growing 'to do list', which will probably remain undone in a years time!

I've recently had the rear calipers changed, and the discs and pads were done all round less than 4k miles ago, so i wanna leave the brakes alone for the time being. These brakes are delicate at the best of times, so im gonna go with the adapters for now. Although my wheels wont be on for a while anyway, got holidays and such to pay for yet!

4x100 to 5x100 adapters for me, THANKYOU!

I think specialist companies might be the way forward then. I had a phone call from a broker today, said they're nice cars and you dont see them about anymore, but then he said to me "dont you wish you'd bought a G60 instead though" cheeky bastid! He also said he'd ring me back if he could beat my £420-£430 renewal quote. Didnt call back.
-
I dont get this. Im with admiral now and ive got a 1990 16v on TPFT. My renewal quote is £430, but the cheapest i can find it anywhere else is over £550. I thought you could normally beat your renewal quote? Also, im 22, and have 3yrs no claims bonus, with no points, and the car has an alarm. Now i think that a quote of over £500 is a little harsh for TPFT cover. Does anyone use any specialist companies to get better quotes? Also, M&S kindly offered me insurance cover for the small price of £4,500, how nice of them

Very. Defo feels dodgy on country roads because you turn the wheel slightly to account for a bend or whatever, and nothing happens, so you turn it a bit more it turns alot (in comparison to your last twitch of the wheel). Its not a MAJOR problem, but something i might sort out if it doesnt cost too much (unlikely) and is easy enough to do (again, unlikely)
-
You've seen the films, where they're in the car and they move the wheel from side to side slightly but nothing happens, thats what i have. I have move the steering wheel left or right for an inch (maybe less) before anything happens. So the steering wheel is uber light and doesnt do anything, then when it does the steering comes in nice and heavy as it should. Is this the usual 'dodgy steering' that people refer to?

"I run bentley wheels in the winter" Wish i was minted enough to be able to say that

My spoiler is by far the best thing on my car. I love the look in people's faces behind me when it raises. Mr Mondeo man looks very confused by it

My rado past first time 2 weeks back, well chuffed. First car that has done that, and a definate improvement on last year when it cost over £400 to get it through! The handbrake JUST passed, so that needs adjusting, and i have 2 rubber hangers missing off the exhaust, but he said he didnt want to fail me for that, would have been harsh. Although the exhaust definately sounds like its blowing, there is more noise from the exhaust standing at the side of the car than the back, i mentioned this but he said all the welds are fine and the emissions were spot on

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
skinnyman9000 replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Spent 5 hours cleaning and polishing mine. A red rado that hasn't seen polish for 6 months is fun! I had to polish the wing mirrors, roof, spoiler and bonnet 3 times, and both bumpers twice, luckily everything else was fine with just one coat. After doing all that, and applying numerous coats of back to black on certain parts, it then decided to rain :mad2: I didnt even get chance to gloss it, or do the interior. So after work tomorrow it'll get a gloss covering or 2, and the interior will be done. It looks bloody good though, only when you clean it you find all the imperfections in the paintwork :( -
Just permenantly on, no matter what i do. I guess the first thing to do would be to take a look at the relay tomorrow, i was miffed when they carried on working after i removed the fuses. Athough its not bad thing if the immobiliser is knackered, ive been meaning to replace it for ages, this will just give me the boost i need to sort it

Yeah, makes no difference. If the battery is attached then all the indicators are on. Doesnt matter if the engine is on/off, alarm on/off, doors open, driving along, parked up, doesnt matter, the indicators are permenantly on, obviously unless i disconnect the battery, which is what ive done this evening. Hopefully tomorrow it will solve itself. Im just getting sick of this car now, its managed to go a full 10 days without going wrong again, woo fucking hoo.
