CoxyLaad, No it's original LK1B nugget yellow must be the camera or the light or your eyesight LOL makes no odds to me coz I'm colour blind why do you think I drive a bright yellow motor :D :D Henny, It's not staying that low mate I am fitting the FK coilovers as we speak :D going to raise to make it more practical and see what I can get away with without it ripping anything off! chubbybrown, Cheers mate I like it too I'm just playing with the idea of lightly smoking the front headlight lenses I ve got a couple spare that I'm going to do the test on to see how they come out! I saw a yellow puma ( I know its a c*ap heap) but it had smoked lenses and it looked quite cool :D 8) more pic coming soon as I make progress! 8)
  6. I have been on a downer with mine since gti international when I didn't have it ready in time and have had this fault with the distributor but alls good now and I'm firing back on all four cylinders you just have tio be patient with these cars and all will come good iin the end :D I cant wait to give mine a damn good spanking in the next couple iof weeks you wont see me for dust 8)
  7. Anyone got any good tips on removing the threaded bushes that hold the top mount onto the suspension strut both of mine are on there solid and can I budge the buggers NO! I know there is a special tool for removing them but no one has it in stock. I ve been trying with the good old hammer and screwdriver for ages but still cant budge it ( Obviously dont have a big enough hammer!!! :D ) Any help would be appreciated :)
  8. I'll go sh&t on they're headquarters doorstep for all the aggro that bl&&dy thing caused me! Thanks for the support guys it'll be good to actually drive it again once its all back together and after the insurance company and road tax has crippled my wallet once again :D :D :D :D :D :D
  9. Yay mystery problem solved it was the distributor in the end I bit the bullet and paid £78+ vat slapped it in and bobs your uncle it fired up first time set the strobe on it and got it timed up and she runs like a dream now!! All I ve got to do is slap the rest of the bits on and get it mot'd :D :D Happy man today!!!
  10. Yeah I know what you mean I haven't got a scope so will have to rob one from a mate :D cant think of anything else can only be the dizzy now I think but who nows got it running a bit better now so could at least drive it
  11. checked compression on all four cyls all ok there tried testing a working plug out of the car as soon as the engine fire it stop sparking. There is nothing wrong with fuel or anythhing like that as it is actually the spark that goes out even when it's out of the head. I have also now tried another ecu on it but that has made no difference either bty lost now as it had a new dizzy on it 10 mnths before it came off the road for the x flow conv so that should still be ok! the only thing I can think of is the hall sender in the ecu but cant see how it would only effect 1 cylinder it is very bizzare just put it to my mate who is a VAG mechanic and he is also stumped as he says it would do all four cyls if it was a dodgy hall sender! AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :D
  12. tried that one already henny didn't work :( plus I ve tried a new cap, rotor and 2 sets of high performance ht leads so they're not at faul either! I will try another ecu see if that is the cause if not I know a good auto electrician who will help me :D
  13. I cant see how the ecu could be the cause as the hall sender, dizzy, rotor, leads, plugs and coil are the only things that control the spark aren't they?? how could the ecu possibly cause 1 plug not to spark? most odd!!
  14. Come on guys help me out it's not often I put a question out on this forum any ideas would be helpful??? :?
  15. No kongo it's only when your cranking the engine over it sparks not when the engine is off LOL I didn't explain that very well but have changed my first popst accordingly :) it's when the car actually fires up and is running when the spark goes out it's most perculiar :?
  16. I have a strange porblem I ve never come across before and thought I'd put it out on here to see if anyone knows a solution. Right here it goes my car runs on 3 cyls at the moment and it's been buggin me for ages today I have found that cylinder 1 sparks when the engine is crancking over but as soon as it fires up the spark goes out. I have changed all the obvious stuff like rotor, cap, plugs, leads and so forth anyone know what might cause this? The back of my mind says it could possibly be ecu related but wont know for sure till I try another one out on it. ANYONE??? it's driving me mad now as this is pretty much the only thing that is stopping me from getting the car back on the road now so want it sorted asap!!!
  17. I dont think the corrado fogs dazzle anyone as they are pretty piss poor ( maybe something to do with the yellow'ish tinge to them?) just like the standard headlights LOL There are a few cars that have really bright fogs and I agree they do dazzle you and could cause an accident but i dont think the corrado falls into that category!!! rear fogs are the ones that reall piss me off when it's not foggy and to make things worse people put them on in the rain so you get the bloody reflection off the road as well as the main bulb!! Also some of the cars nowadays with the HID headlights cause alot of problems, how many times have you been driving in the wet at night, come round a bend and been faced with a car with HID's that are so bright you cant see fcuk all for a couple of seconds NOW thats dangerous!!!
  18. no no no dont try and bend the striking pin on the handle it will break!! ( gauranteed) as its cheap metal if anythhing bend the lock mechanism as that isn't so weak, on mine it was set too far forward so the striker wasn't hitting it I just levered it back a notch and then adjusted the white plug on the end of the handle striker and it worked fine. the best thing to do is semi fit the handle but just leave it out a little so you can peer through into the door to have a look where everything is located and adjust accordingly it takes a little patience but you'll get there and they do look so much better colour coded :D 8)
  19. thats the fogs and indicators woody that sit flush with the bumper on the later cars not the headlights 8)
  20. http://www.beldirect.co.uk/road-angel.htm follow this link for more info I am very interested heard nothing but good reports on these but a bit pointless me getting one till the rado is back on the road so i'll hang on for a bit longer
