I ve seen those dial kits on ebay the only thing that put me off was that the water temp gauge was in farenheit not degrees and I dont know what the fuel gauge like yours reads as the corrado never had a 18 gallon tank nor 18 litres??? that puzzles me somewhat!!! :? oh and the speedo only reading upto 140mph as well much prefer my 160 :D !f someone brings out a dial kit like that with celsius for water and 12 gallons for fuel and 160mph for speedo I would be more than happy to buy a set as they look wicked :D Not too much to ask is it????? :)
-
ebay of all places :D but steve the bloke I bought it off also sells the kits off ebay I think. He lives in kings lynn I think and I ve got his email address if you want it?
-
Oh yeah the nitrous purge kit and blow down pipe are on order and the progressive controller will probably ordered in the not too far distant future oh and the pressure gauge is also on order :D

I know lanny it's going to be a bit of an animal up the strip not intending to use the nos on the street as it is pretty expensive seeing as it costs £35 to fill up and depending on the jet size will probably only last 1-5mins of continuous use!! It's a wet system alex it came with 10lb bottle micro switch jets from 25hp- 100hp 2 braided lines from solenoids to intake nozzle 2 solenoids fuel and nos braided lines from bottle to solenoid Arming switch 1 splitfire nozzle T piece to fit into fuel line 2' of fuel line and full fitting instructions Basically everything needed to instal into the car!!
-
*** it cost me but it's gonna be a while before I will be able to fit it as I am doing the crossflow conversion so the car will be off the road for at least another 3 months, cant wait though hitting that button down santa pod for the first time and leaving the opposition for dead :D

I can think of only one other way or removing a broken stud in a head other than drilling it out and re tapping it which is to use a reverse thread reamer you first drill a hole through the centre of the stud being and then attach one of the reamers pictured below and turn anticlockwise and keep turning till it bites and providing the stud hasn't welded itself into the head it should come come out. I have used one of these quite a few times before and has worked every time time they cost about £10 but if it saves you from having to take the head off then it's worth a try as long as you can get a drill behind the engine that is! Good luck!! If you need a set of the reverse reamers I can get you a set out in the post for trade price no problem!! just PM me if you need them

It dont matter if you win by an inch or a mile winning's winning :D By the way medical nitrous differs from the nitrous used in cars as it contains sulphur dioxide bet you didn't know that dazzy so no good for your tooth I'm affraid :D

The best polishing kit I can think of alex is plenty of sheets of wet and dry, starting with something like 600 grit and working your way down to 1200 with plenty of elbow grease and then finish by using something like solvol autosol metal polish brings up alloy a treat. Alot of hard workbut worth it for the results thats what I'm getting clever with at the moment for all my alloy parts but I'm cheating a little bit by using the Die grinder to start off with and then just getting the polished finish with 1200 wet and dry and then the autosol :D

Werhay recieved my nitrous kit today so when I get my car back on the road I'll have a new toy to play with got it for a pretty good price as well :D

Hiya Sanj New lower arm £22 New ball joint £10 Track rod ends £8.50 outer cv joint £40 + £15 surcharge if the old ones casing is shattered Front shocker depends weather you can get away with an insert or not I think the complete unit is about £40 and the insert about £25 These are just the prices I can recall I can get you a full up to date price list if you want. I would take it to a garage and get them to do a free estimate on your car and then you will know what to change if you want to do it yourself!!

I am good pals with my local dealer and he gives me more than parts club discount :D parts club discount is only usally entitled to 10% which alot of the mechanics I know get, but they do me 15% which is pretty cool. I have noticed though that VAG are really tight on discounts as most other manufactures offer 20% discount to trade. I think you'll find that CCGB do get parts club discount as we have a password and username I cant remember what it is off hand and I wont be mentioning it on here anyway but members can get hold of the password by contacting one of the comitee!
-
Well I'm suprised there's been so much negativity about the CCGB I know it has been a very hard year for the club due to the complications that became apparent around the time of the annual AGM but that is over and done with now and is being dealt with. At the end of the day anyone who is a member of the club is probably just as much of an enthusiast of the corrado as all of us are on here.. I have been a member of the club for the last 3 years and have enjoyed many events that have been organised for our benefit. I have noticed that many of the negative comments that have been written about the club have come from people that aren't members if you haven't been a member I dont think there is any need to put people off from joining!! With the webpage coming back online ( http://www.corradoclub.co.uk ) and the new comitee and the regional hosts thinking of new events will be good for all the members who wish to take part.

As far as I know all the G60's have a 12 gallon tank and the VR's have the 15 gallon tank dont really know about the 16 valver as they were produced later than the G60 so could probably have either!!

dont you mean from 20 amp - 25amp Andi didn't know fuses were rated in watts :D I'll get me coat :D -
mmmmmmm anyone got any kleenex??? :D
-
I searched for 1 year before I found my nugget yellow G60 they are quite rare and dont come up for sale that often you'll just have to be patient and trawl through all the VW classifieds and auto trader till you find one. Definately worth the wait though :D

I have also done the job took me 3 attempts but got there in the end I did it without taking the inlet manifold off or the exhaust manifold by taking it through the hole between the steering rack and chassis tunnel. ( If you dont have acces to a 4 poster ramp dont try taking it through from the bottom though as it's impossible) TThe inlet manifold should come off quite easy as the bolts shouldn't be done up really tight just a bit of gentle persuasion but it is in a really awkward position 9 I know coz I took the inlet and exhaust manifolds off 2 weeeks ago) took me about 3 hours to get them off and the back of my legs caned afterwards from leaning over the engine. I would expect that the flexi joint is probably where it is blowing from especially if your exhaust moves about a bit! Good luck it is a bas*ard of a job!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE I CAN'T DRIVE MY CORRADO!
Banana Man replied to dubbprince's topic in General Car Chat
I got insured when I was 20 by HIC they wanted £1600 to insure me tpft and I quibled that it was going to be my 21st birthday in 3 weeks and they charged me £1600 but then when I was 21 they said to ring back and change my policy to say that I was now 21 and they refunded me £600 I thought that was bloody decent of them as most of the other insurance companies didn't want to tiouch me till I was 21. And the best previous quote I had was £2500 what a joke. Give HIC another ring and see if they will refund you when you hit 21 worth a try anyway!!!! -
The problem with fitting a blow off valve to a G60 is everytime it dumps to atmosphere it will spray a fine mist of oil into the engine bay but if you really want to fit a BOV the all you need to do is T it into the boost pipe by the throttle bodie and T a piece of 3/16th vacuum tubing into the vacuum pipe that leads from the manifold into the fuel pressure regulator. I prefer the boost return mod as you dont get all the hot unused boost returning back into your charger heating it up again

Yep sounds like the latching pin has snapped a very common corrado fault they can be replaced by passat rear handles and mechanisms for quite cheap £40 roughly for both sides rather than VW's price for one corrado handle which stands at £60 odd IIRC
