Just spotted your from Hayle I got my 16 GTi from a bloke down there a few years back when I was living in Plymouth, small world! :)

It would look a lot tider with a 20v turbo in there :lol: but have to agree its never going to look neat and orderly in there!

Have you removed the carbon canister or boost return? Am going to attempt a de-clutter at some point soon as she will be off the road while I take the front end off.

I just cant decide :? if I polish it up I will have to do the inlet mani, alt, charger or it will just look really out of place but then if I paint it I will have to paint the rest too :lol: come on people I need some thoughts anyone got some G60 engine bay shots of painted or polished engines that may help me make up my mind?

Its an engine noise yes? Not suspension/wishbones? I had a loud banging noise recently on my G60 and it turned out that the rear wishbone bolt had fallen out :shock: not good!!

Its turns the fuel after run on if the pressure gets to high after a long run "I think" thats all :-)

Hey Jim, Would suggest you have a quick look underneath if you are planning on driving it anywhere before next weekend then as its dead easy to spot, should be a 17mm Bolt at the back of the wishbone, you can feel it if you stick your hand under there too. I really should have looked at it earlier! :(

Best check the condition of your petrol hoses too, as they tend to split and leak I paid £80 for the three plus new spring hose clamps from VW when mine started spraying Optimax on the exhaust manifold :?

Been ignoring a clunking/knocking noise from the drivers side of my car for a few months now and last week raced a 4x4 Cayman from the lights and was rewarded with a massive bang from under the car so thought I really should take a look this weekend, only to find that as above the Rear Wishbone bolt had fallen out at some point :shock: Fortunately Tom had a spare from his 16v graveyard so am safely back on the road with no more banging noises and lighter steering that works again too :D Mental note STOP ignoring odd noises from under the car!! I could have been Dan Jam if that wishbone had let go at 70 on the motorway! :-(

silicone doesnt go "soft" when it heats up or indeed change its physical properties under almost any conditions thats why we spend lots of cash swapping the rubber hoses over to nice shiney Samco ones 8) (tried to find a nerd smiley but failed :lol: )

:lol: last time I went to Breeze VW in Southampton the parts monkeys told me that the oil filter for the G60 has now been discontinued :lol: but then they are f%^king idiots and franky it amazes me they can find there way to work in the morning! :? Almost ranks with the classic. Me: Can I have a length of ECU vac hose for a Corrado G60 Please? Parts Monkey: Cordoba? We dont do those, you sure its a VW? Do you mean a Passat? Me: Sigh... No its a VW C O R R A D O! The green one outside! I just need a meter of Vac hose for the ECU. Parts Monkey: The wont be any vac hose on the ECU mate its all electrical init. Me: Is there an adult I can speak to please?
