  1. Nice one 8) will get on the phone to them then! Cheers Dan
  2. Nice work, those calipers look very cool 8) I know its a little way down your list but any idea where you are going to get just the front Goodrich hoses from? As I appear to have the rears but not the fronts too?? :? I have only ever seen them for sale as complete kits though :-(

    G60 Thermostat

One thing to watch out for is the "hidden bolt" on the PAS pump bracket  once you have slackened off the PAS belt and removed all the bolts you can see get your small socket extension bar with a *10mm (iirc) socket on and feel about above the bracket (where you cant see!) untill you feel the bolt head, whip that sucker out and you will see the plastic Thermostat cover. Two small bolts and its off swap in your new Stat with a new rubber o-ring and re-assemble job done :) give us a PM if you get stuck or have any further questions Cheers Dan
  4. Best not to leave it too long boys... There is a long list of G60 owners who have found out the hard way including myself (although mine worked loose rather than snapping thank god!!) BTW before you do it get back to VW and get new crank+ water pump pully allen bolts. As you can see from your pic they are not in the best nick and can be easily rounded after 15 years of numpty mechanics abuse! They are dirt cheap and always in stock :-) Well worth doing along with all your belts too! :-) Dan
  5. What a complete tool! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7091904.stm The 66-year-old man from Washington state was repairing his car outside his home when the "accident" took place. :D  :D
  6. I know I had at least one near miss looking in the mirror to see the spoiler going up and didnt spot that the car in front had stopped! thank god for ABS
  7. No worries mate glad your sorted :) and still feeling the G60 love!
  8. The screw you can see is the adjuster for the fog lamp aim! Its not attached to the indicator :-) As you can just about make out from the attached pic, it shows an early fog and indicator I have laying about. Just slip a small flatblade inbetween the fog lamp and indicator and leaver the indicator accross away from the fog light, trust me it will pop out! Dan
  9. One to watch with the spoiler is the motor itself going, a first sign is when it keeps blowing fuses! Then you need to take the spoiler mech out of the boot lid and boy is that fun  VW decided to run all the wiring for the lights and the wiring and hoses for the central locking right through the spoiler mech making it a bit of a pig to remove. But getting it off and stripping the motor is worth it as a new one is silly money (if they are even still available?) its basicly the same motor as the electric water pump on the VR (I refurbed a furbard one for Toad still waiting for him to fit and test  ) You have to love these cars! :D
  10. The front indicator's dont have a screw in them? On the early or late bumpers they are held in with a spring clip and pop out with a little help from a small flatblade screwdriver :)
  11. Its a real shame mate, but thats the way it is most people dont even think twice about opening their doors onto the car parked next to them :-( usualy kids and women that are the worst offenders! Every time we go to get the weekly shop I almost expect to find another dent in the door, fortunatly it hasnt happend yet but it will! Its all very well saying be carefull where you park but if its a daily driver sometimes you just dont have any choice. Hope you decide to get it sorted and that it stays clear of morons and their doors in future!
  12. A real shame the video cuts off there, reading the top gear magazine review of this feature explains why mr 24v probe decided not to show the whole video (for those who havent guessed already  )
  13. Its a weird one, did you get the hole for the oil cap power coated too? Just wondering if the cap cant make a proper seal against it? Also I had an issue with mine throwing oil everywhere when cold because the oil pump release valve was jammed, however on mine that caused the oil pressure to jump up to 10bar+ enough to spit the oil filter seal out :-(
  14. Hi Mate, I couldnt find the timing mark on my flywheel either :-( so I did the timing for the bottom end on the crank pully mark, it lines up with a mark on the cam cover and a notch in the intermediate shaft (on the G60)
  15. Probably, they wanted £80 for two water hoses on my G60 so I saved for the Samcos wasnt too much more to replace the lot
  16. Sorry, I could not help it
  17. Ahh  sorry and have to admit I didnt read through the whole thing but I did notice that the problem got worse on replacing the Thermostat? If so that makes sence as I replaced mine with a new one from VW and on the drive home I got 130 degrees on the oil  Ended up putting the old one back in as there was nothing wrong with it apart from age.
  18. Nope let the GAE plate stay with the bmw  "ultimate driving machine" my arse!
  19. Unless you go for the Samco boost kit, VW will be the only place to replace that hose :-( I would get a price on it.... The stump up for the Samcos ;-)
  20. Whats the exact problem with your cooling? Is the fan not working or just slow? Could be loads of things, give us a bit more info :-)

Almost done fitting the Samcos 8) changed the oil and oil-filter and cleaned out the Jabba air filter, amazing the amount of crap that came out of it!
  22. could just be an air lock? Is it damp in the passenger footwell, does the windscreen mist up when you turn on the fan?
  23. You neet to check the level when the oil is cold, otherwise you wont get a proper reading.
  24. At the risk of a slap  are you sure you have enough oil in the beasty? Fairly sure that pipework and rad are going to require you to put a little extra in
  25. Thats an odd one, could be your ECU relay at a guess :? does it happen at idle or when your driving or both?
