Why not just buy a set of replacement lenses from this guy: http://www.chrisolmstead.com/Corrado/index.htm Well recommended, I used a set on mine and they look bloody loveley! Do try to avoid the temptation to "clean" the reflectors with anything other than midly soapy water as the silvering will come off if you use anything stronger!! ;-) Dan

:( take care mate.... But bet your back before too long! :)
-
Off the road??? Your not giving up are you mate?

In answer to your question... The Sunroof weighs a frigging ton (takes two people to remove/re-fit!) and the electric window gubbins is going to be fairly heavy too. But having said that if the car has been looked after and tuned correctly valvers do go very well! I know for a fact my old Golf 16v was way quicker off the line than my G60.

 nice one Ian.... I obviously looked really hard...

The throttle problem will be a sticky throttle cable, get a new one from VW :-) as for the mirros problem it will be the switch in the door, I thought there was a guide on how to fix these but I couldnt see it in the Knowledge Base Wiki, obviously I havent got round to writting it up yet lol Be very carefull when you take the switch apart as there are a few very small bits that can and will go flying off never to be seen again if your not carefull! Do it indoors over a bit of white paper! and once you have it apart, clean the copper swicth connections with a bit of emery cloth or abrasive block they will be manky and green because of at least 15 years of water ingress due to the switch's location and the fact it gets covered in water if you open the window after its been raining! :-( Dan

I had this exact problem on my 89 Golf GTi, and it turned out to be a cable running from the dizzy was shorting on the engine due to split insulation on the wire, easy to sopt easy to fix, worth a check! (if you have a valver of course, sorry forgot to check what car you have before sharing this!) Dan

Come on :-) more details on the problem, someone else is bound to have had the same problem at some point!
-
 nice one there is nothing like getting your G60 working after a period of grief! Give us a shout if your ever round Hoofddorp way

She went to Prep school you know... :-D

Ok so its update time again, spent the weekend at Toms place replacing the dented wing and door with nice straight ones from a VR, and experienced first hand the vastly annoying and mostly pointless changes VW made between early and late doors! :bad-words: but got it sorted in the end  So now she is ready for the MOT and after that a nice fresh coat of Paint, should be over here in Holland before the end of next month! 8) Thanks again to Tom for putting me up and helping with everything :salute: and of course providing the 18year old entertainment

Hi Mate, Keep us posted :-) I just checked on google maps and you are about 30mins away from me but I don't have my car over here yet so getting to yours could be difficult, but if your mechanic cant fix the problem I would be more than happy to come take a look with you if I can figure out the best way of getting to you one weekend. Cheers Dan

Hey Mate, Where about's are you in Holland? I live in Hoofddorp near the airport an should be able to come take a look with you some point if your not the other side of the country :-) I had loads of issues with mine when I fist got it and would suggest you start with the basics, check fuel, and filter by removing the fuel filter and point the pipe into a jug turn the key to 2nd position so the pump runs, worth changing the fuel filter just in case too as the get badly clogged up, if you have fuel ok I would suspect that the timing is out so starting from the top work down checking the timing marks on the flywheel, dizzy and cam there is loads of information on here about checking the timing on the G60. Cheers Dan

Could be master or slave but both worth changing tbh can you see any fluid leaking from either? If one is gone the other will probably not be far behind, but get it done as the last thing you need is dodgy brakes!!
-
Looks frapping lovley as always mate ;-) p.s let me know if you want to get rid of that old charger outlet, it maybe 5h1t but I bet its better than the standard plastic outlet that I have on mine :-(
-
Get some spray on "Gunk" from any good motorfactors that will get most of the grease/oil off and a coat of Nitromores from any DIY store, will clean off any crap paint a treat :-)
-
I think you should turn up on his doorstep, introduce yourself and explain the finer points of Seagulling (but then I have been drinking at work and maybe should not be posting, let alone considering emailing my boss regarding a raise....)
-
Sounds like a plan! Plus the fact you got the car from the garage up the road it shouldnt be to hard to track em down  I have a good feeling that you only need that chain guide and all will be well! Top news mate 8)

Lara AKA Hells Belle but I think she would eat you alive. Err can I be eaten alive after Tom please? :luvlove:

As a further thought, could it be an after market low temp (80deg) fan switch? Fitted by the PO?
-
Check the wiring around the fan temp switch (bottom r/h corner of the rad as you look from the front) for shorts etc failing that pull the switch out and replace it :-) weird it comes on early though, normaly the fail and dont come on at all or not till the 2nd stage kicks in.

Utter sh1te! :-) I am sure they still make it but the garage or VW Dealership is talking bottom gas again! Also Nine times out of Ten it will be that plastic flange that bolts to the side of the head that leaks rather than the pipe that connects it, can you see any white crustynes on the side of the head? Or a damp patch underneath the flange? If you are sure its that pipe, go to your local VW dealership with that bit of paper and see what they say. Good luck Dan

The Audi Sport.......Cleaned up and looking Good!

Looks good :-) I notice that the master cylinder for the brakes is on the passenger side as per MK1 Golf leading to poor break performance in the R/H driver versions due to play in the bar that connects the pedal to the master cylinder, just out of interest do you notice that the brakes are not quite what they should be? -
250-300 on a G60 is going to take a lot of work and big money, or are you just going to slap on a Turbo and have done with it? :-)
