What rado have you got mate? If its a 16v or G60 they will be fine with rolled arches, if its a VR6 you may still foul the arches if you go quite low because the vr has a wider track than the other models.

3 hours to remove wishbone! **with pic** & **how to**
herisites replied to mrbeige's topic in Drivetrain
I was told that you have to remove the sump on a vr to get to the bolt mate and if you do you have to then replace the sump gasket. But i also heard that lowering the sub frame slightly allows you to get access :? when i do mine i am going to just take the sump off replace the gasket and oil etc at the same time so its getting fresh oil and fresh wichbones/bushes :D -
Yeah i think some parts will definately need claying like you say the bottom half and sills etc but just couldnt be bothered  i will use it on someone else car first and see how i get on and then do mine another time. The lights have such mixed views, some people really like them others detest them and i dont really know how i feel about them, i think they make the car look moody and they are protecting the glass during this schit weather etc which is another reason why im keeping them on. BUT i do think i prefer the car without them after looking at previous pics of it :(

Yes mate, no parking dents as of yet :D the rear bumper however has been bumped as it has some scratches and light scuffs in places :x

This might come in handy as mine only works on 2,3 and 4 and i have had mine apart a few times so this may well be the case.

Why thank you :D

Cheers craigowl :) i dont think its to do with the radio/cd as its all original being the parents car. I will try the fuse idea and see where that gets me. Any other help would still be nice :D

Does anyone have any ideas why it could be doing this?? Or does anyone quite near me have VAG-COM to hook up to it (would this work?)?
-
I was also going to clay bar it but i didnt think it was necessary so didnt bother. I havent used clay before so i am finding cars to clean to practise with  So watch this space for some more details to come 8)

Hi guys, I need some help if possible with my parents 2001 Audi A4 2.5 Tdi Quattro. The battery keeps going flat every now and then, its fine for a little while and then one morning it will be totally dead. They had it diagnosed at a local garage and it came up with the alternator so they put a new one in and it was fine for a little while but now its started going dead again. So does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Cheers, Rob.

Cheers guys :D Furki and Jim - the tints are going soon, i have only kept them on because i paid for the things and wanna get SOME use from them  you are right Jim i also didnt think they would be quite as dark, i wanted a subtle tint but they are way too dark. Oh and yeah i will get over to the Vortex forum, not been on there before so might pop on and say hi 8) Riley - Cheers mate, if you say it looks fantastic then i know i have done a good job :D

Well it was a superb day yesterday and i didnt have much on so thought i would give the C a good clean and ended up doing the works really as usual  The Process: - Hosed down whole car to wash off loose dirt, washed wheels with AG Wheel Cleaner and tyres with AG Rubber Care, rinsed wheels and tyres. Washed body with AG shampoo and pressure rinsed. Then dried with microfibre drying towel. - 2 coats of Meguairs Scratch-X, first coat was thrown on quite liberally and went over quite quickly applied to a panel, applied to next panel and removed from last panel and so on. Then went over again straight away more concentrated. - Then prepped the paint for polishing with Meguairs Step 1 Paint Cleaner. - Then applied AG SRP to the whole car (i have megs step 2 polish but i much prefer SRP as its easier to wipe on and off and is also very good at filling in swirls in the paint that the scratch-x couldnt get). - And finally for the body i waxed with Meguairs Step 3 Carnuaba wax (love the smell!) to protect the finish. - And finally cleaned all exterior plastic trims and glass inside and out. The Results: Then i took some pics of the mirror finish in the garage!! Enjoy 8) Rob.

Well first of all well done on your purchase and get some pics us ASAP  If you are going to have lots of questions then you will need to become quite familiar with the search function. You can just enter keywords or to get more specific results use AND to include all keywords for example: vr6 AND suspension It will make your life a lot easier mate :) As for your suspension, 75k is not a lot really so the suspension itself should be fine but the things you would want to change to make the car nicer to drive and more stable etc would be all suspension bushes, ball joints, top mounts, bearings, bump stops etc basically anything rubber to do with the suspension as it will most probably be perished due to age even if they look ok. Hope this helps, and hope you enjoy you corrado :D Rob.
