You can figure out how to change most parts, just looks where its bolted on and just make sure you put it back the way it was before
-
Also this could be made into a poll
-
You wont be able to change the rear axle bushes and wishbone bushes yourself mate as these need to be pressed in, however new wishbones come with the new bushes so you can easily enough change the wishbones. Everything else there can be done, some fairly easy. With most of them parts though you would need to get the car 4-wheel aligned after as they can knock the geometry out which you will need to get a garage to do.

Well i will see if i know anyone with a drmel as im not buying one just to do this  if not i will just use a hacksaw and a file :D Cheers again for your help, much appreciated! Rob.
-
Yeah they do look superb and very OE, i will certainly take my time with them to get to look as good as possible. I need to get one of those dremmels though i think!
-
Yeah i will fit them and get them working first definately. I dont want them too bright i just want them to light up white using a bright white bulb as normal bulbs just light up yellow and dull
-
Thanks mate thats brilliant and thanks for the link. I will be fitting them this weekend hopefully so will have a go!
-
Another thing to watch out for when getting all the bushes changed is that due to the car being quite old other parts can brake/go wrong etc when taking it all apart, the garage will usually point this out, a main example is the brake lines etc so just a heads for up for you guys
-
It sure will, you will be amazed at how well the car will drive after you have changed them :D
-
Its the float sender in the tank mate, they are only a few quid from the dealers and not hard to change, mine needs doing as well as mine sometimes says i have fuel but most of the time its stays on empty.
-
Yeah thanks very much for that Steve will come in very helpful. Did you change the bulb/led with green? If i want mine to light up bright white like my DDI dials what would i need to use? Cheers, Rob.

If the bushes have never been changed on the car then definately get them replaced as it will transform the feel of the car significantly. mattnorgrove, the main bushes to change are the rear axle bushes, front wishbone bushes and ARB bushes, these will make the car feel generally more stable and should handle a lot better if your old ones are gone. As for a price then i hope you are sitting down, the parts aren't expensive at all but its all labour as the rear axle bushes and front wishbone bushes have to be pressed in and out which means taking the whole wishbones off and mostly the whole rear axle. I got a quote from my local garage to do all mine and it came to over £400 and that was from guys i know, i read in another thread that Stealth charge £300 just for the rear axle  If you are mechanically minded you could certainly do the fronts yourself as you can just replace the whole wishbones which come with the bushes from GSF for about £35 each and the ARB bushes aren't expensive but i think you need to drop the sub frame to get to them. But then its just the rears you will be stuck with! Good luck :) Rob.

Its hard to actually 'check' bushes as such as they can look fine to the eye but if they are the original bushes still then its best to change them as they are only rubber ad rubber perishes and sags etc over the years. I am getting mine done even though mine doesnt feel vague at all. When i had my old fiesta that felt very vague at high speeds, it felt like it was hovering just off the ground and if a big gust of wind hit me i would take off and hit a tree  i replaced my bushes with poly bushes and it was solid, although poly bushes themselves are bloody hard! Im not getting them on my vr as my coilovers are hard enough! Also 3corsameal if the car jumps about over bumps then replace the ball joints as discovered by Kev in his Steering Cure thread, i am also getting mine done along with the bushes.

 True, although a throttle is still just a throttle
-
Yes i was thinking of just doing that, although i havent seen it done on a blackberry C yet so would want to see one first
-
The Jag is about 400Kg heavier
-
I already have the uprated loom and some 130watt rallye bulbs in it and they were very bright without them but are dim with them!
-
Yeah i know what you mean, i keep thinking mine isnt that fast but i dust most executives in their BM's and Audi's in it and i have kept with a 350Z which you expect to be a lot faster but isnt. Mines going to be an animal when i charge it  :D
-
Yeah its got to be done really
-
And one of it in action, fantastic!! http://www.dahlbackracing.se/media/viewmedia.asp?ID=6

Nice one mate :D The slowest model XK8 has 290bhp 0-60 in 6.4 secs and a top speed of 155 so its understandable that the vr could keep with one of them, if it was a better model then even better :D
-
I agree that they look 'fresher' i think the clear lights go better with my shiny wheels where as the tints make it looks a bit front heavy if that makes sense
-
8) for my car  Its when it gets dark though that i want clear lights as i dont know i have my lights on until i go down a pitch black road and can just about see where im going
-
Yes yours is the one i saw mate with the white needles, looks superb! Was it hard to do? Did you do a How To?
-
Change all suspension bushes regardless of how they look as rubber gives with age, change ball joints as discovered by Kev they make a world of difference especially over bumpy roads (im getting mine done soon :D), coilovers (the more you spend the better they will obviously be) and top mounts (again rubber!) and maybe a Neuspeed rear ARB and it will handle like its on rails
