  1. I got a thumbs up last week, saw a nugget yellow G60 in corby northants and my gf actually pointed it out so i put my thumb up and he put his up and smiled back, he had his gf (or just a girl) in the car too and she started talking to him after so i just know she was asking wtf  Havent seen any others since i have owned my vr, i used to see some on the way to work occassionally and i thought i would wave them when i get a C but now i never see them  Rob.
  2. I used to look on this site a while back, the golf RSI is mental, go to the media section and watch some of the videos of them testing it on a track, its rapid and looks the nuts! The brakes are that good they have to take the front splitter off in one video because it scrapes the floor when diving under braking!
  3. Nice choice in car mate, i am looking forward to seeing it progress! Rob.
  4. Well done mate, hats off to ya :D You may have inspired me to do my own work, i want to eventually fit a charger on my vr and i reckon i could do it myself (with help of course lol) but iv always though i will just save and get it done in a garage but for the sake of saving money and learning a great deal i might tackle it myself one day :D Congrats again and i bet it feels much more rewarding driving your car now :D Rob.
  5. I went for 20 YEAR without driving a corrado and now i finally have a VR6 its bloody awesome  but since i have owned it i went a week without driving it when i went on holiday and that wasnt very nice, but i had some good driving sessions when i got back :D
  6. Hey welcome to the forum. You are going to love the VR mate, fantastic car and you got one of the best colours too (blackberry being THE best imo ) Im liking the wheels but like said it def needs to be decked, you may find you wont have to do AS much archwork if you stretched the tyres a bit because from the pics it looks like you have the correct size tyres for the rims. Oh and your Polo looked awesome mate, you have very good taste, even better now you got a vr tho  Im looking forward to seeing how your car progresses judging by how your polo looked. Rob.
  7. Yeah but the car is being bought for a woman so the interior to her will be lovely  Only other downside with the puma is visability, you cant see jack out the back window when reversing due to its weird shape  I just nicked these links off the zsoc. They show where some of the 'overbaking' is shown. So they may help you if you want to avoid rust, iirc they only had this problem one a certain batch/year of fords and if you discovered the problem ford would buy your car back off you lol. http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01134.JPG http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01135.JPG http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01136.JPG http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01137.JPG http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01138.JPG http://www.cruiseculture.net/images/ecoat/DSC01139.JPG It may not be such an issue with pumas but i thought i woud post it up just in case, dont want the car to rust after a while of owning it!! Rob.
  8. I also heard that cars slightly pull to the left to avoid head ons with oncoming cars if you fall asleep. Its annoying but i suppose its a good idea  Rob.
  9. Puma's a very good cars imo, like said though it is a shame they have been given a feminine reputation as most girls that buy them dont really appreciate them. I had a ford fiesta zetec-s before my vr which are basically the puma with a 1.6 and fiesta body and it was a wicked little car, handles fantastically. A lot of fiesta owners would put the puma engine in their cars, even though it only had about 10-15bhp more and cost a shed load to convert but the puma engine is by far the better, very revvy and solid with good tuning capabilities. The FRP's are gorgeous, there are quite a few guys on the zetec-s owners club who have sepped up to these as they are quick but mostly very very good handling. Like said above rust is an issue with fords, even at a new age they can still rust due to some panels being 'overbaked' to look for this have a good look around the car (specifically in the boot behind the lining and underneath) and look for panels with a light shade of brown, this is a sign of overbaking and means they are very prone to rust, ford actually called back a lot of fiestas/pumas with this problem. Other than rust they are a good car and very cheap to run due to most parts being the same as the fiesta so services will be cheap etc. HTH Rob.
  10. Cheers steve_16v i wasnt asking about the rears because there is something wrong with mine, they work fine just asking if people tend to upgrade them, i didnt think there was much point to it due to the weight being over the fronts more when braking. I am going to go for the power grooves and then get some good pads. Cheers again everyone for your help :D Rob.
  11. Ahh ok then, i also had to fiddle my keys around, i would turn the ignition and it would start but it cut out straight away but if i fiddled with my key (oo err) then it would start ok. Its sorted now anyway so i dont care  Rob.
  12. Thats a good vid i enjoyed that. Some good camera work and editting with some good tunes makes quite an effective video  Some really nice cars on there 2, no corrados though :? It was funny when they were getting pulled over my the :lcop:  Rob.
  13. Yeah i suppose thats right, its a cheap enough change anyway just to make sure so i would also put a new one in. Rob.
  14. Cool mate, let us know when you are next coming past mine then and we can do a bit of swapping  Rob.
  15. Surely if the car has just been serviced the fuel filter would of been changed anyway? Welcome to corrado ownership, good to see another girl on the forum! I agree with some of the above regarding the starting problems. It is always best to put some good ignition leads on an older car anyway so this may help, they are not too expensive and piece of piddle to change. Also if it was the ignition switch then it would start then cut out as my vr had a dodgy ignition switch and thats what mine done, it would start straight away but kept cutting out straight away. But i may be wrong as i am quite new to corrado ownership myself. Good luck with the car and get some pics up of it asap :D Rob.
  16. Sounds good Ryan, shame about the wheels mate they would of looked awesome! But if you cant justify them then there's no point in keeping them really. Do you still want to swap rear lights at some point? Rob.
  17. Cheers fellas. I thought that i would need the calipers etc as well, this is where i have a problem because the wheels im getting although are 16" they only just clear the standard calipers with spacing so i cant afford to go any bigger which sucks. I am quite happy with the brakes as they tbh but just wanted that bit more immediate bite. So if i went for the power grooves with some good pads then would that be a good improvement over standards? Also does anyone do anything with the rears or is there no point? Rob.
  18. Nice one, price seems good. Where could i get the 288's from and do these need and specific pads running with them etc? Rob.
  19. Cheers for the replies. So if i went for the 288's would these run with standard calipers and carriers etc so just fit straight on? Where can i get the goodridge converter hoses from? vr6storm do you have a link to the Ate Power Grooves? Thanks, Rob.
  20. Hey everyone, I am getting used to my VR6 nicely now and am giving it the beans more and enjoying every second :D but now i want to start making the car as solid and safe as possible i.e awesome tyres for immense grip (was originally thinking toyo T1-R's as i can get them cheap but i want awesome grip in the wet so was thinking of spending more and going for uniroyal rain tyres?) and upgrading the brakes for some better stopping power. I dont want to go for bigger brakes as i am fitting som 16's soon and they wont fit over any bigger than standard 280 discs. So i have been looking at upgrade standard size discs. I done a search and looked on GSF and found these: 60200F BRAKE DISC-BREMBO'MAX' for the CO VR6, these seem cheap to me for Brembo discs. The website doesnt give much information on them though which is a bit naff so i dont know for definate if these are the ones for my car. Can someone please verify they will fit straight on my vr no probs (5 stud and correct size for standard calipers) and also if they are good??? Thanks. Rob.
  21. yeah i went straight home and swapped them that night Ben, a second set of eyes is always helpful when fitting something new  When you getting some new pics of yours up? Havent your centre caps arrived yet??? Rob.
  22. i have changed the wipers round now as i also noticed they were the wrong way round! Im actually glad it rained today (apart from my car is now dirty after just polishing it!) because the wipers were fooking ace!!!
  23. Just as well i took some pics yesterday because its pi$$ing it down today and its dirty again  Rob.
  24. Cheers Jim :D cant you get 4-5 stud converters? or is it just 5-4 stud? I love the colour, especially when its just been polished! Rob.
  25. Got bored today so thought i would take some more pics of my B-E-A-utiful car! Took some arty farty ones and editted them slightly in pshop. Enjoy :D Rob.
