hey Kev - careful there, you may be running hideous power, but i've got a feeling you might like the way the r32 drives in a corrado  on the subject - when ARE we going to see your 2.8 24v turbo project? or have you just been doing it on the sly and not telling anyone?! I think he's going to wait until something goes wrong with the current setup as he's put an awful lot of time and money in to it why rip it all out! It's not like it's boring anyway

Looking good mate! Glad it's all up and running properly now. Fancy rebuilding another Rotrex, still haven't looked at mine
-
Ahh could be the pedal then as I have one from a diesel! I'll see what Vince thinks to it. I'm testing the pedal tomorrow anyway in a mates MK5 GTTDI so if it works it's the wiring side of things. Yep I figured out the vacuum box thingy yesterday, got it all hooked up now. Also noticed that the spare vacuum line was even blocked off on my boss's 3.2 TT so dunno what it's for :?

Hopefully I'll be attending Edition 38! But I won't hold my breath

Cheers for the comments guys! And Leon thanks for posting the pics, they look superb! Yeah as Kev mentioned, I soon remembered that the vacuum box thingy sits under the inlet manifold at the front and it all plugs in properly then. Still got a couple of left over vacuum ports on the back of the inlet though, but my boss has a TT 3.2 so will be having a nose around his bay today! Coxy, good shout on trying the pedal in another car, a mate at work has a MK5 GTTDI (which is actually what my pedal came out of!) so will give it a go in his and see if it works.

I'm sure I could tempt you when mine's all up and running ;) Sounds like a good plan though, get it driving 100% then decide where to go with it, that's what I did with mine, went charger route first though but it packed up last year (whilst driving round europe!! :brickwall:) but then thought the best way to go is R32, same power but naturally aspirated and with only 6k on the clock 8) Good luck with it all the same!

I can't wait to see what you do with this one Jay, just been re-re-reading your old thread and still think your old C was the best by a mile. (looks etc wise, performance wise you should have a go in Kev's now  awesome motor!!) if you decide to stick an R32 in it, I'll be happy to help, just got mine up and running!

Is yours the Mk4 one? Mk5 pedals bolt to the floor so no clearance problems, just need to find a good position and bolt it down. Will do that next weekend though with Kev as the ECU's not even registering the pedal yet so need to figure out why! Might all take a bit longer AGAIN as my downpipes don't fit right. I fitted my decat and they are pushing the whole exhaust tight against the side of the tunnel so there's no movement. Not ideal really :(

SHE'S ALIVE!!!   Yep, Vince finally got my loom and ECU sorted out this week so went and picked it up yesterday morning. All I can say is Vince has done an AWESOME job, I would not have wanted to do it myself! Me and Kev then went back to mine and started fitting it. It all pieced together perfectly with only a few wires needed splicing in to various signal wires and power etc. Leon also turned up and took plenty of pics so no doubt he will post his as unfortunately I didn't take any, sorry :( After a good few hours the wiring looked done, we fitted up the fuel lines, put some water in it and then tested for fuel pressure. There wasn't any ... strange ... ah I had the fuel pump out last weekend fixing the sender ... yeah I know what's happened, I put the pipes on wrong way round   Back out with the fuel pump to correct my amateur mistake and we had fuel pressure. Then it was finally time to turn the key, needed a few turns but then she fired up and with no decat pipe on it was some noise  But she ran! Se wasn't revving though so need to check my pedal wiring when I get the ECU pin number etc from Vince so I know what I'm tracing! To say I'm happy is an understatement, I never doubted Vinces work, mine though is a different question  but looks like I fitted it all correctly! Just needs a LOT of tidying up as we just wanted to get it running yesterday so the bay is a mass of old and new wiring and the pedal is on the windscreen, might leave it there actually  Next weekend it should be all complete!

Welcome back Jay! It's about bloody time that's all i can say  Looks like a great car for a daily!
-
And I'm spent  Awesome build, wish I had the time/money/skills to do something crazy like that!
-
3 turbos!! that'd do! I don't even have one ... yet
-
 That's crazy!
-
Yeah, on reading they reckon it's always been like that, has it fcuk, I thought at first glimpse the piston had just fell apart and dropped.
-
That's shocking!

I didn't notice you had that Kev, looks good!

Yep mines a late coilpack engine, no distributor. It had no problems when I was running it not oil leaking (although it's covered in oil at the minute since taking it out as have removed the oil cooler etc so it got a bit everywhere!), never seen any smoke from it even on overrun. Yep compression ratio is about 9:1 which is perfect for turbo and the chains were done last winter using the new mk4 upper tensioner (plastic that doesn't fall apart like the standard ones!) And £450 is good if you can just come and take it away. You may need to rob a couple of bits from your engine like stat housing, oil cooler, PAS pump but in terms of the actual engine it's all there. PM me and I'll give you my address.

Remember though Nancy, Eagle F1's are great when they have loads of tread, as soon as they tread starts getting low they are terrible apparently! Conti's get a very good rep but are more expensive, Rainsports are great but are bit on the soft side for dry weather.
-
Yeah the front comes in the wishbone, but the front one doesn't really need changing tbh mate, it's the rear one that needs changing.
-
Sorry dude I don't have an engine hoist, I had to rent one to put my R32 in. That sounds a bit risky to me as well, it might not be as simple as taking yours out, putting mine in then driving away. I think you'd be better of just coming down in the van and taking it away. It only takes 3 people to lift it really, I can get it on a crate to make things easier (and cleaner!).
-
Just been reading the last couple of pages and it cracks me up  I love this forum  Good progress with the car Josephine, keep it up :)

Might be worth putting a thread up in the Wanted section asking for one mate and just keep your eyes peeled in the Parts For Sale section. If you want one asap then you will just have to bite the bullet and pay top dollar.
-
Yeah I agree, I think people see dogs going for next to nothing and assume ALL corrado's aren't worth much. If it a good example with all the goodies then there's no reason why you shouldn't ask for good money for it!
-
Im gona try selling mine first and then I will buy yours :) Cheers for the offer tho, and hopefully get back to you asap. Have you got all the loom etc? Reason being is I will need to keep a lot of mine to run with the R32 so I'v literally just got the engine which is a late '95 coilpack one.
-
Cheers for replying for me Kev :salute: Yeah it's all as Kev says mate, didn't do the guides and seals etc as it's always been a perfectly clean engine, never ever seen any smoke out the exhaust and was clear to see why when we took it apart, all looked like it had done half the mileage it had done (apart from the chain tensioners!). When completely standard I got it rolling roaded at 203bhp and 196lb/ft and there are VR's with Schrick cams and remaps struggling to get that! I was running 7psi with a baby supercharger and no cooling etc and was getting 270bhp so 8psi with a turbo should be 300bhp easily enough I'd have thought.
