Mines doing this at the min, i think it just needs the wheels balancing though as i cleaned my wheels thoroughly the other week and i think i have just knocked some of the weights off. Bloody annoying though

I dont mate but if you let me know what you want measuring ill get back to you. (its about 2 finger gap on front and rear) well not to worry unless you particularly get the chance but just interested to see what the difference could be over the standard koni/h&r setup.. and i'm still wondering about spacers for speedies/sollies, i think when the car is lowered properly the 15s could do with bringing out a bit... what do you think looking at that rear quarter pic of yours? Yeah the speedies look lost in the arches when its low. I found that out when i was having my brocks refurbed and was using the speedies again (which felt lovely and soft compared to the crashy brocks ) they looked SO small
-
Yeah definately sounds worse, as my mates will tell you after the other night they followed me over 3 large speed bumps which i caught like a bastard with my spoiler, the scrape echoed down the street but like i said i have no cracks in my spoiler and it still feels really sturdy! And my theory with the sump is that if you cant get over something with the 90mm spoiler then there is no risk hitting the sump where as with a 50mm you could get over higher humps but then you can catch the sump! Remember the saying as well, if you aint scrubbin you aint dubbin

I dont mate but if you let me know what you want measuring ill get back to you. (its about 2 finger gap on front and rear) I do know however that the speed bump outside where i work is going to kill the 90mm chin so it may have to go.. Leave it on mate! Mine scrapes coming off my drive and over a speed bump at work every day and its still as strong as ever! Plus a 90mm will act as a barrier for the sump as well

That looks much better now! So which KW's did you go for then mate??

Definately worth getting some imo. QD is Quik Detailer or basically any detailing spray. The most commonly used and cost effective though is Megs Last Touch which you can buy in a gallon tub and dilute with water 1:1 (i use de-ionised water) or use it neat as a lube for claying. It has many uses, the main use is between washes, if the car is only a bit dusty you can spray the QD over the car cloth as it lifts the dust off the panel and then buff away with a mf and that will bring the shine back for that 'just waxed' look. Its also used as a lube for claying (Quick Detailer actually comes with the Megs Quik Clay as the lube). I use mine to mist pads when machine polishing to stop the polish going into the sponge, or on foam applicators when applying wax. It can also be used as a drying aid, if you have recently waxed the car and just want to wash it, then after washing it and rinsing it down, mist the whole car with the QD and then dry and it will dry spotless! So worth investing in a bottle imo as you will always find a use for it.

Yeah gunna try them as well. I will definately be getting a limited mileage cover as i will hardly drive it really, the mk1 will be used for every day driving 8)

You can still use the DC2 and SRP together but like i said just use the DC2 after the SRP as its a glaze really and the SRP will fill swirls etc. It could well be too much product, Scratch-X is a right byatch to remove if it dries!! So you need to work in small areas at a time, make sure its fully broken down and then buff off straight away. If some areas are hard to buff off then mist your mf cloth with some QD and that should help remove it. Previous machine polishing could well be the case though as holograms are most commonly caused by bad machine polishing. I left a few behind when i first started but that was because i tried the rush the last few panels and didnt break the polish down enough!
-
A mate of mine has one of these, he's lowered it slightly on some good springs/shocks and has chipped it and its rapid! And he got his for a proper bargain! Look forward to seeing the tinkering 8)

Hologramming is caused by using an abrasive polish and not breaking it down properly, so basically the Scratch-X. Did you work it until it went clear working in straight lines and buffed off straight away not left to dry?? EDIT: Mind you, if you followed with the DC1 and SRP they should of cleared up most hologramming left. Also to add you would be better off applying DC2 after the SRP as its effectively a glaze so the SRP would just wipe that DC2 away.

*goes out to check if there are berries in the crap on his car* ... ... *comes back* Good lord you are right!!
-
What??? I was asleep in my box.... What do you want master? ROFL :lol:
-
Not surprised with that at all tbh it really does burn the paint! I also heard somewhere that for some reason VAG is affected worse by bird poo hence why that golf i done was stained shortly after the sh*t had landed on it! I dont know if thats true though :?
-
Hary(arse)sites he's talking about you! Haha! yeah but my car still has loads of swirls, i just lessened them if thats a word! And how do you know my arse is hairy

Gunna start getting some quotes soon Ben! I done a quote a while back with Adrian Flux and it came back the same as im paying standard with The AA so if it was correct i dont think it will be toooo bad.
-
I need to start getting some quotes for when i get mine supercharged. Currently paying £1200 fully comp on my vr with The AA (who was the cheapest i could find at the time, most wouldnt touch me lol), when i took it out last year i was 20, passed 2 years and had 1 yr ncb so not bad really. This year im 21 passed 3 years with 2 yr ncb but want a supercharger declared. I done a re-quote with The AA who im currently with to see roughly what my renewal will be and its just over £800 fully comp but thats without the charger, so i know that with The AA not being a modified specialist that they will fleece me when i mention a mod. So im going to try AF. I remember getting a quote off them a while back for my vr with a charger stating about 250bhp and it came back about the same im paying now with The AA without supercharger so if thats the case i will be happy, but will still try and get it cheaper though.
-
Mmmm supercharger!!! Wont be long now until my engine bay looks like that :D
-
Have a look through the guides on http://www.detailingworld.com mate, LOADS of information on there!

:lol::lol::lol:

You could try the Megs DC1 and a lot of elbow grease and you might make it appear a bit better but it will be hard work. When i machine polished that black golf there was still marks left from bird poop!!
-
I was thinking the same thing.. mine's just about running out... Rob? Offer a refill service? get your own! It will all be used up eventually at the rate im going
-
The guy who owned my vr before me paid £17k for it in 1998 second hand or might even be third hand and i bought it off him for £3.5k im quite happy about that :D
-
it's ok Rob, its not a competition!! Isn't it?? Good i can stop spending so much bloody money now then
-
I would rather pay the extra £50 and have the RS4 personally! No doubt it will still be an awesome motor though!
-
Doh! Havent tried the 915 yet, maybe when i got cash to burn i will get some to try but for now the 476s is superb for durability and the concours is superb for looks so cant really justify getting another tub of wax just to see the marginal difference
