I agree, i hate leaving my car anywhere and i dont like putting too many miles on it but i have already put 10k on it since i have owned it and it wasnt low milage then  I on the other hand dont care if i only get a 1.1 as its just going to be for driving to uni and mates etc, although might for the 1.3 for that bit more power

Ive started getting a lift when i do go home so the long journeys are being kept to a minimum.... Im approaching the stage of needing another car though Steve, i dont want to use it unless its for driving enjoyment not going to the shops etc... I know the feeling mate, im a bit worried of having to use mine so much as a daily and because of it im not enjoying the drive as much! And i spend so much time cleaning it every week and it just gets filthy again! Plus i have no choice when i go back to uni i need a second car and lock the C up in the garag only to bring out on special occasions :( but atleast it will be a cool little mk1 golf :D

I thoroughly agree with that, they look spot on! If i hadnt of had the brocks on offer to me i think i would of gone down the RH route.
-
Here is an idea of how it will look with the door cards done mate, looks spot on imo!

Both  he retrimmed the rear seats himself and dyed the front black leather recaros to red. Karl i am mighty impressed, they look awesome! As said from the first few pics i was worried but they look superb and the red gaitor is a nice touch. Just need to do the door cards now mate 8)

Hey only just spotted your reply calvin! Its definately gone to a good home mate dont you worry  Im owner number 4, got it from the guy who must of had it off of you, it was pretty much stock when i got it except for exhaust and lowered slightly, was a minter so couldnt resist it!

Just been reading about it, definately sounds good. How do you think it would compare to the Wet Mirror Finish, im guessing it delivers the same sort of finish with extra durability? Im still yet to try my Wet Mirror Finish! Going to use it on a mates car this weekend so will see how it looks.

You musnt be able to move for cleaning stuff.... Its starting to get that way now

AG = Autoglmy SRP = Autoglym Super Resin Polish (red label) UDS = Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine (black label) EGP = Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection (gold label) CK = Clearkote RMG = Clearkote Red Moose Glaze

As goldie said mate if on adjustables deffo lower the rear a bit if your arches/wheels allow as this gives that bit more clearance on the front which doesnt look a lot visibly but somehow makes hell of a difference  Otherwise a mate of mine has a mk2 sump guard i believe, not sure if it needs modding or anything but he couldnt find a vr6 one. His names Bendy on here so might be worth dropping him a PM.

Lovely looking C and the best colour too 8) its amazing how different blackberry looks when its overcast etc as its such a rich colour when the suns out!
-
I dont have the patience for that. Mine goes on with an applicator lol Mine does now  done it the first few times by hand and thought fudge it and got the applicator out  Just as good really, you can still apply it thinly and get all smaller areas.
-
I love my Victoria Concours, such a good wax for the price imo! Its interesting applyin by bare hand though  hard work too!
-
Jesus i didnt realise i typed that much  sorry got a bit carried away

Dave, the routine you done sounds good. If you have arms like arnie then attempt the Scratch-X on the whole car other wise i would just use it for smaller areas as Corrado paint is solid and you aint really get rid of swirls/scratches without a machine imo unless like Riley said you spread it over a long period of time doing nothing but scratch-xing it each day then you may start to see results. But i find you have to be careful when removing swirls etc by hand as for best results from an abrasive polish like scratch-x the abrasives need to be broken down properly and so you have to really work it in by hand to achieve this giving your shoulders a battering! If its not properly broken down you can leave holograms. The best quick way to get rid of swirls is to fill them as Mr Deviant mentioned SRP is very good at filling. So is UDS but UDS is designed to work better on dark cars so SRP would be good enough for blackberry, i know from experience . Also the EGP is great on top of SRP as its made to bond to it, but it doesnt bond properly to UDS so with UDS it would be pointless using EGP for good results so better just topping off with a good wax. But over SRP i would def go with 2 coats of EGP and if you want that extra protection a good wax on top of that. Also as deviant said, for better filling results use 2-3 coats of SRP and really work it in, not so much with pressure, but just going over each panel thoroughly, i apply it in circular motion and then up and down to fill in swirls and random scratches. I would also like to point out that the Megs 3 step is a good starter, the step 1 is a very good paint cleaner, so if you have wax etc on the car and want to remove everything then go over with the paint cleaner. The step 2 polish isn't actually a polish its a glaze as it just adds shine and contains no abrasives so effectively you could add step 2 over another polish such as SRP to use as a glaze. And the step 3 is a bit poor wax really, doesnt last very long at all so you will find you are always topping up so well done for getting another wax. If you want wet look then you want to get the stuff i have on mine mate, it looks soaking wet! After polishing with SRP etc dont go with the EGP as thats a sealant so anything on top would be pointless apart from a wax. So i use Clearkote Red Moose Glaze which is a wet look glaze designed to work best on red based cars and believe me it works great on blackberry! Follow it with a good wax and on blackberry the best wax i have is Victoria Concours which is good for dark cars but especially good on red based cars again. This takes the edge off of the RMG but still gives a warm glossy look which is stunning. For best results add another coat of the wax 24 hours after. Another good glaze for wet look is Megs #7 Show Car Glaze, but apparently (not knowing from experience) the step 2 'polish' which is a glaze isnt far off so you could try that. Alternatively instead of waxes and glazes there is another sealant like EGP but gives the ultimate wet mirros finish thats really in your face! And thats Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish. Apply this after polish and dont add any wax as that will just take the wet look away. Sorry to go on but i have tried numerous stuff on my blackberry C so know what gives the best finish. But then thats for my taste, you might prefer alternative stuff for you!

Cheers guys! Bally, go and have a look through General Chat mate, i got a bit excited when i saw it and posted it

Ahh gotcha now  Well one of those polishers probably would help when applying polishes to larger panels etc but they are just so clumsy, i have used one before and although simple to use, they just rub polish over a large panel and thats it. So it may take some strain off of your arms but tbh most of the processes need to be done by hand anyway for best results and so one of these wouldnt really help. I would personally stick to doing it by hand and save your money, plus its a good workout anyway   However i do have some tips on how to reduce arm ache. The first being applicators! I find that using a foam applicator to apply polish/glaze/sealant/wax is a lot easier than using a cloth as the foam pad has a flatter more firm surface which means more of the product actually goes onto the paint instead of soaking into the cloth meaning you have to apply more pressure and also stops you using more product than you actually need! You can get some megs foam applicators from halfords or alternatively cleanyourcar.com sell foam applicators for a quid each so if you order any products off there you may as well order a bunch as you can never have too many! Also some detailing spray helps with everything! But to help stop arm ache mist some of the spray on a microfibre cloth (terry cloth or whatever) to help remove stubborn polishes a lot easier meaning you have to jst lightly buff it away instead of scraping it off! And also a comfy chair or stool helps with general comfort whilst working round the car, you may find that by resting the restof your body will actually take some strain off your arms as well so making sure the rest of you is comfortable is also a good idea! Hope this helps again :) Rob.

Yep Passat cup holder has been done: http://www.corradocentral.com/cupholder.htm Although like the idea of a push activated one from a modern car being incorporated into the dash. Might be hard to get looking OEM though :?
