Well it sounds as if it will be going to a good home, im a young lad and i treat my car better than i do my women!! so im sure a vr as lovely as yours will get the treatment it needs. I think i will be doing a bit of right click 'Save As' on your car pics now 8) Good luck with whatever you decide to do and if you cure your itch with a new motor then if you put half the work into it as you did your C it will be awesome :D

I would imagine it would be fine, as long as its not gone hard and you can warm it up by kneeding it in your hands until its soft. Try it on a hidden area first to see if it leaves any marks. Just make sure you keep it warm by kneeding it regularly revealing clean surfaces, use plenty of lube and dont use it in direct sunlight as the lube dries VERY fast.

Lovely wheels 8) I have 9x16's on m VR all round. et30 on the front with rolled arches and et15 on the rear and i have angle grinded the lip away and mine still catch. Yours being a 16v however it has a narrower track than the VR so i would imagine just getting all 4 arches rolled would be enough to stop catching.

 didnt even know you were selling it! I thought you agreed to keep it in the end? Lovely car, you must be pretty gutted. Is the new owner going to come on the forum do you know?

Looks great mate 8) what are you using in the action shot? Is it a polisher?

Yep Karl is the man at stitching now and he lives in Sutton Coldfield.

Lowered my VR6 by 40mm..but not happy with ride..HELP??
herisites replied to DUBST4R's topic in Drivetrain
Yes the PI and Koni combination has been highly rated by a few members on here for ride comfort and a lot of guys go for H&R and Koni but i believe the PI springs drop a bit more than the H&R's. -
Why thank you kind sir! :D

You say bookings, but its more like friends taking advantage of my new found skill knowing they wont have to pay much  I shall have some good pics up at the weekend as friday i am doing a black mk4 golf which is really bad. Will get some good before and after shots and some of the whole car.

Hi mate, I have saved your mobile number so you might want to remove it just in case you get weirdos ringing you  Thurs should be ok, i could finish work about 4 and come straight over yours. Can you PM me your address so i can find you :) Cheers, Rob.

Looks great mate 8) i would perhaps get a 90mm chin spoiler for it though but apart from that looks spot on :D What colour actually is it?

At the minute i am just using the pads that came with my polisher, but i want to get some better ones soon as although mine do the job, they have squared edges so they tend to rip apart a bit if you catch something, so im gunna go for the sonus SFX pads i reckon as they have rounder edges. Yes mate i am using the menzerna sampler pack and i was also thinking 250ml was a tiny amount but you dont really use that much and i still have plenty left after doing a whole car using mainly 3.01 Intensive Polish and 106FF Final Finish. I reckon you will get a couple of cars out of a bottle, depending on the condition really as some areas you may find you need to go over again. I mainly followed THIS guide on Detailing World which was very useful. As for videos i just went on youtube and did a few searches and watched a few, they are mainly videos for the Porter Cable though so not really for how to use a rotary, but it gives you an idea of what speed you need to do it at, how much pressure to apply, how many passes to make and also how the polish looks when its completely broken down etc. HERE are some videos of the porter cable being used. And i also found video of a guy polishing a corrado :D

I dunno how far he will travel but the guy who did my wheels is very good. http://www.rs-repairs.co.uk - take a look 8)

Legend! Yes please mate that would be great, and only in wellingborough round the corner from me in rushden lol. PM me your address etc and we can sort out a time for me to pop over and try a wheel on :)

Might be worth looking in HERE mate, its bound to be covered in there. Also do a search as im sure this question has been asked loads of times. You might end up getting mixed views though, some people will swear by the PI springs and others by the H&R's so you can only really see what you like by having a go in C's with both set ups.

I can imagine mate! Only stealing business of close friends and friends of friends at the minute, never know though, i might not have to get a part time job when i go back to uni i can just detail a few cars a month and i will be laughing
-
Oh and Jim, you thought your arms ached after a 3 step polish!!! Try machine polishing for 2 days straight and THEN applying polish and wax after  i am gunna be one beefy mother after a few cars as well as my usual weight training at the gym!!!
-
Cheers Jim, yeah this guys is the same, really bad swirls! I was cringing (sp?) when i saw it at night with flood lights on  He wanted me to do his car a while back but i told him to wait a while as i knew i would end up buying a machine polisher at some point and as his was so swirly it would benefit from a proper polish so he waited and now cant wait for me to do it :D Also my mate at work wants his Evo 8 doing, but it doesnt really need much machining so i might just give a quick go over with some final finish polish and then SRP the rest. Will get plenty of pics though as its a lovely car 8)

I will be machine polishing a black mk4 golf this weekend, its VERY swirly, had a lifetime of car washes and cheapy hand washes and it shows under a spot light!! I will add the pics to my 'Me, a day, a whole bunch of products ...' thread :)

I didnt drive my car all weekend and it felt awesome getting back in it this morning so i cant imagine how good it must feel after driving a shed for a few months!! Although i will because i will be getting some sort of cheapy old diesel for when i go back to uni at the end of the year and the C will only come out on special occassions!! It will be supercharged by then as well so it will feel unbelievable to drive!!!

Few more pics as i finished it over the weekend. This time with proper menzerna products. Used 3.01 Intensive Polish on a cutting pad followed by 106FF Final Finish on a finishing pad. Rear Quarter Before: Rear Quarter After: Roof Before: Roof After: Door Before: Door After: I now feel 100% confident at using a rotary machine polisher. I can even do it with one hand which i did on the roof where i couldnt reach fully! The menzerna polish is great stuff, very easy to work with and although i only got the small 250ml bottles it seems to last as you dont really need a lot of polish per panel. I want to do my car now but its finding time as i have a few mates wanting theirs done  Just as well i have a 4 day weekend this week being easter :D

Well its 10mm difference mate so i would of thought it would make a difference. I reckon if i had 205's on mine it wouldnt catch half as much. At the minute mine catches over most sudden bumps, a bumpy road is fine but if i hit a small pot hole or dip in the road etc it catches. With 205's i reckon mine would only catch on big pot holes and bumps. 205's is a safe stretch mate, i know some wont agree but most people running 9's have 205's on and i havent heard of any trouble. There are even people running 195/40's on 9's

Looks great mate! The interior looks mint 8) Got any plans for it or you keeping it standard?
-
Get 9's mate and put up with any catching, they look the bollox
