  1. never thought about just taking off the VW emblem... or possibly shaving them all, and sanding the tabs off of the corrado emblem and using emblem adhesive it i choose to run the corrado badge... that may work..
  2. MK2 lover here as well... never give up my red rado for one... currently... i was missing having an MK2 around... so i made the girl buy one for her self... and since then i bought here Rota track r wheels in white to match the alpine white jetta it is, B&G springs with tokico shocks, recaro trophy interior, GLI trunk, cross hair single round conversion and an FK badgeless, big bumpers, and a grille spoiler... haha and it's not really even my car... oh yeh, and it gets my G60 engine when i pull it from my car to drop in my built 16v turbo...
  3. ahh my bad, never even thought of it... thanks to which ever mod moved this thread to the appropriate forum... i get forgetful and get into a routine and make mistakes every now and again haha
  4. tricky... if you wanted to do rods as well i am sure i could get you numbers to do that... maybe full built assembly... here are some... JE pistons sold by autotech 82.5mm bore w/ 8:1 CR 10.107.60825 $599.95 Add to Basket http://www.autotech.com/prod_engine_piston.htm used in the Bahn brenner 1.9l kit 83mm bore pistons... http://www.bahnbrenner.com/catalog/Pist ... n_Set.html also! contact these guys, they know their stuff... only thing i've ever seen them not know is if the 9a and PL 16v rods were the same (and yes, you can use 9A rods in a PL) and they're really nice... from their site... 5. so my red rado's gonna have some touch up done before showing and i don't know if i should shave the badges or not, but the section that has small recess lines that the badges are located on... a bunch of nicks in the paint from people after me loading and unloading parts in the trunk i imagine knicked it pretty bad... worse than i am willing to let slide on a show car... so badged or debadged... currently i have the highline VW emblem, the corrado on the side and an OEM european 16v badge for below the corrado emblem but it is not on the car... the front will be debadged... what do you guys think? oh and the reason i would keep the badges is because i am trying to "clone" a G60 jet with my car minus the G60 engine and the wheels so the Jet stickers wouldn't really make sense if i'm debadged... i dunno what do you think?
  6. hey, let me dig into some books, i used ot work for the Unites States larges auto parts distributor... insert pause here cause i'm getting up... as sitting, looking, and recalling... i know for a fact it is possible to use 1.8T pistons... to do the AEB 20v head onto a PG block you need to use 1.8T pistons... problem being figuring the compression... and since you are capable of using 1.8T pistons, now correct me if i am wrong here but i think i am correct you are also being able to use PL 16v... the only thing you have to keep an eye out for is wrist pin diameter, and of course piston diameter, and remember you probably want to run a slight bit bigger, if you are tearing your motor apart you want to do soem boring to clean the cylinder walls... and so far i see VW wrist pins come in 2 sizes and seem to be available for all 1.8 VW engines... using an american scale .787 and a metric 20mm companies i have looked through so far is JE and Wiseco... (sorry i said Eagle before, eagle does not make pistons. rods and cranks only, they out source to JE for their pistons on their rotating assemblies) hmm... looks like the girl wants to get food... when i get back, i'll dig into the bentley manual and get the PG wrist pin specs and see if i can help you out, also assuming you want to retain a factory 8.0:1 compression? or bump it to 9.0:1 and still run the same boost you do now to get some more power out of it? **** more info *** PG engine code requires a 22mm wrist pin. bores on a PG standard/oem piston - 80.985mm cylinder bore - 81.01mm 1st over size piston - 81.23mm cylinder bore - 81.26mm 2nd over size piston - 81.48mm cylinder bore - 81.51mm info needed on selecting a piston... from top of the wrist pin hole to deck/top of a stock G60 piston is 28.5mm from bottom of wrist pin hole to deck/top of a stock G60 piston is 50.5mm and the dome top of the piston recesses 8.6mm at it's lowest point... girlfriend is on me about hangin out before goin to sleep... respond if you need more info and tomorrow i should have a comparable piston by a company you should be able to run... hopefully that is...
  7. haha i was gonna reply where to get OEM parts cheap but uh... i guess well they wouldn't really be cheap being shipped from the US haha yeh i would say get a bentley manual... but honestly, once you work your way around the car and if you have any general car knoewledge you don't need it... if you need tq specs or something PM me and i would be more than willing to look them up for you, i can't remember the last time i used mine... i know G60's better than i know how to count to 10...
  8. heres where i was wrong though... i thought storms also came in black... but i guess i was misinformed...
  9. i'm sorry i live where there are no storms and over half of corrado owners don't know storms exist and about 85% of corrado owners don't know a Jet ever existed... and the numbers that were confirmed previously are what i thought were correct but since i don't know for sure since i live half way across the world from where any storm was sold new it makes it hard for accurate info to make it here haha
  10. i was looking through and saw this person... beeftech has a 16v Storm? is that OEM original? i thought they were only VR6?
  11. PM'd about that 1.9 kit...
  12. oh and heres the car i'm trying to get everything for... alots changes since these pictures... some stuff previous owners did and didn't have time ot take off/change due to keeping it running... when i sold the car it had a fully forged 1.9L G60 with the Bahn Brenner supercharger kit, which is an Opcon Autorotor 2087 http://www.bahnbrenner.com is the site with the kit. i don't know if anyone is familiar with the company, although i think i saw someone selling one of their G60 RSR charger outlets... now currently, the wheels are gone and replaced with Racing Hart C2's 3pc, engine is being replaced with an Autotech 2.0L stroker kit using a 1.8 PL (which mine has oil squirters for the pistons), and i am currently also building an air to water turbo kit for it. B&G coil overs will be on this car, rear bumper being shaved and running a side exit exhaust... lots of stuff i have some stuff planned... and if there for some reason anyone needs and parts from this country i would be more than willing to help out... anything. even if you're looking for after market, i am thinking about buying my old stage 4 G60 back with chrome eurosport IC tubes to part the car out...
  13. this G60 turbo i had caught on fire... i guess turbo heat is not these fuel lines friends... luckily i am not one to just sit and watch it burn like many people i have seen in the states... i kept a fire extinguisher in the car cause i've heard of G60 engine fires... quickly shut the car off took my shirt off to try smothering it, went back into the car, got the fir extinguisher and sprayed till it was empty... didn't even melt the paint haha, just the hood lining on the bottom side burnt up...
  14. you've got a PM from a desperate kid in the states! haha
  15. incredible, i can't thank you enough! hopefully he does want to sell...
  16. ahh i wish my car were RHD... here in the LHD market i know of no RHD corrados so it would just be good for show reasons... it's alot of work to convert over i know that... it also sucks that all the thousands and thousands i am spending on my corrado to make it "euro" is going to make it look basically stock to most other people in the world...
  17. actually i know some of the canadian corrados had air bags... but i would be highly doubtful that one of them have made the voyage over... but then again, no where in north america did we see a stock 16v, and not till i think 94 did the air bags start there... could have very well been 1995...
  18. i do appreciate your responses but i figured it would never hurt to say anything i do expect to spend pretty much forever looking for this interior haha but i would try a german forum except i never learned german haha i know shipping a whole interior is rough, but i know smaller things are not so bad... i shipped a set of VR6 underdrive pullies from USA to Sweden for around 20GBP or 37USD... assuming the general currency being used is the GBP or it would be uh? about 30EUR? depending on the current exchange rate... i am also curious, since this is a UK based forum, most of the members have right side drive cars?
  19. hello, i am going to try to keep this simple since i noticed there is some terminology i do not fully know what they mean. i would like to start by introducing myself then i will get to what i am looking for help on. my name is Justin, i've been into Corrados for about 7 years, i only buy G60 Corrados because i personally prefer the engine over the VR6. i have had other VR6 VW's and just do not like them as much as the G60. i help run the Corrado Club of America website. my corrent corrado is the first corrado i ever bought. i sold the car, and then hunted it down for 3 years after owning it for 3 years. during that time and inbetween i have also bought 4 other corrados and 2 of them i owned twice... in short i am a corrado fan. what i am looking for help on is getting Euro parts here in the states. what i am looking to get is a G60 Jet interior, preferrably in red. i would be looking for the door cards, front, and rear seats. i could probably do with out the door cards, but i would like to be all original because the car is being built for a show car... thanks Justin
