my Corrado is F'n spoiled... here's what she got this week..
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Exterior
ehh it ran me right in and around £400... i am trying to take this car as serious as possible this time around since it's the second time i am owning the car and 3rd time building it hahahaha i want it done right the first time haha but i know i'm damn jelous of any of you who oen a corrado across the pond... most of the money i am spending on the car this time is for the US to euro complete change over... :( -
here's what my Corrado got this week... she's so damn spoiled haha this week comign though i think she won't get anything but new headlights and new late style lenses... the A2 Jetta we have "needs" tires for the wheels we bought and big bumpers haha... there's a show coming up in a month or so and the girl wants to take it cause my rado's far from ready... but yeh a carbon fiber hood... i'm happy haha thought i would share
-
now if only they would make a jetta coupe again HAHA (p.s. if that's really the new rocco, glas it's not called a Corrado!)
-
yeh i know many ways to get my hands on them and that they weren't ever available here in the states... but i was told the 90mm ones were for the VR6 bumper which spreads wider on the back end from tip to tip so i didn't think they were the same..? but i knew they would fit...
-
i had heard there is a 90mm lip/spoiler for the early style bumpers?! is this so? and how do i go about getting one cause no one here in the states seems to have any clue at all they exist, or was it a rumor i had heard? you know the stuff no one knows about makes for a better show car when you have it haha thanks! Justin
-
haha that sucks, they've been using stuff like that in larger cities in the states here but they don't hide them they use it as a preventative deal... the theory is that if people know they are being watched they won't commit crimes or drive aggresive... you guys have camaras on traffic lights over there?
-
hey! if anyone recognizes me at all around here they know i am going crazy trying to replace every part on my Corrado that made it specific to the USA, well soon i will be ready for the interior... this is going to be costly and it's going to hurt the heart to spend it but i am going to have to... i have my heart set on red G60 Jet interior, and i was incontact with a person on here who said they don't like it and will let me know when they take it out but that was like a month or 2 actually ago and are beginning to think it won't happen so i am curious as to what other interiors you guys have out there... so i want to see em all even if you think you have the most common of common and everyone has seen it, cause well, i haven't seen it... thanks!!! Justin

i don't know, i guess it;s personal preference but i don;t particularly care for the MK3 golf... i had a 98 GTI VR6 in Arrow Silver with all the Drivers Edition parts on it, so it was a hell of car here and rather rare and i could honestly on stand to own the car for about 3 months and i just wasn't happy with it... which i guess the only reason i used it was to keep the miles off of my 350Z while i had it... but again it's personal preference, but man i LOVE MK3 jettas with Golf fronts! i would run around in that all day long like it was the coolest car ever, aside from a corrado haha

ouch if you pay more than £450 for a rebuild look into http://www.kompressorkanada.ca/ they'll do a rebuild for you for around £390 then you just have to ship... but they do excellent work and they also have some specially painted or polished finishes that are really nice... they're going to be doing my G60 charger for G60 swapped 89 Jetta...

did any cars across the pond have this interior?
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Interior
blue dot interior in the states is a rare interior... try looking on VWvortex and see how long it takes you to find a car with it let alone someone selling it... problem is it's not very useful to too many people unless they have midnight blue pearl, aqua blue pearl, black, or alpine white cause it doesn't really match anything else... but if you decide to sell list it up on http://www.corrado-club.com it's the Corrado Club of America site... i know it's out dated and we are taking along time to redo it, but since it's on a voulenteer basis and many are busy progress is slow... we've had a few designs but nothing used as of yet... -
the body work is very clean... but man for some reason i hate when people put tail lights on cars that don't belong on those cars... i guess cause i see it here in the states so often and it's always such a bad bad job that i've come to dislike it so much... but i was honestly guessing honda accord uhh 94 to 96 i think style i was off... but similar body lines i think...
-
there is always this for about £1250 :D http://www.bahnbrenner.com/catalog/BBM_ ... holm_.html i had one of my corrado before i sold it... it was loud no lies, but man the power over a G60 charger on a stock G60 was impressive! (sucks i was stock when i had mone cause it was after i blew up my 1.9L melted 2 forged pistons :brickwall: and basically ruined the block so i sold off the whole thing)
-
hmm... nice, i almost bought a 996 Carerra 4 less than a year ago, i didn't like the color so i passed up on it and before i found another one i liked i came across my cobra, so i got it... just so much faster, but have fun with it! haha
-
wanna know what happens to G60 chargers? guess what comes next... . . . . come on... guess... . . . . THIS! and only if that were it, here comes the good part! and i got bored one day... don't try to rebuild a G60 yourself! it's a pain in the ass i started breaking to get it apart haha remove the bolts from the outside... splt casing from being glued together remove c clip and counter weight ...here is how your apex stip seats should look... if they look like thie the displacer is still good... if they look like this the displacer is more than likely not savable but sometimes it is possible... here is an apex strip... here is where you don't want to find an apex strip... (the supercharger outlet... not a good place for a seal...) ...bad displacer if it's broken as well... didn't i say to remove this?! HAHA remove cog belt gear to remove drive crank for the charger... and never figured out how to remove the whole displace from the casing... someone want to keep all this stuff for a "sticky" or keeper thread? haha i say buy a G60... i buy G60 and love it... we don't have a 16v here but i would buy a G60 over VR6 any day of the week...
-
hmm... ugh... i don't know if i feel like typing everything there is to know about a G60... there isn't much to them really... replace the blue water temp sensor, clean the idle stabilizer valve, replace/splice in new universal O2 sensor, replace cog belt on supercharger, and uh possibly replace the vacuum line from the throttle body to the ECU (replace only with line ordered from the dealer! if you use what ever you think fits and is close isn't good enough. this vacuum line is for Air/Fuel and the ECU is programmed for this specific line, if you run anything but this line your G60 will never run right again!!!!) that's all you'll ever need to knwo to keep a G60 running... oh yeh and rebuild the supercharger if you can afford to have it done...

vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Interior
hmm... alacantra... i know i don't like it when dashes are wrapped in that... curious about the seats though... as for the back seat yeh the armrest/first aid kit holder seems to be off color but i believe it actually looks straight black in person to match the seat trim... -
did any cars across the pond have this interior?
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Interior
well blue dot interior is even rare in the states... i know the guy who still has my old midnight blue corrado and if he sells as is i think i would buy it back just for the interior out of it... but man i'd tell you over the full leather these seats feel like heaven... i know alot of full leather guys who would much rather sit in these but the more "expensive" corrados had leather so alot of people go leather here... but uh thanks for the info! -

now i thought for sure it was nothing different but as i look i don't think i've seen it around... basically here in the states it was out G60 interior and we never got a 16v... soo i ask, was this interior for anywhere else but the states? my current red dot interior and i also had a blue dot interior i also ask cause i hear people say seats with specs and i always thought it was this interior and it turned out to not be the case... thanks Justin

Potential club member/owner, would like help!
vdubCorrado replied to snotrag's topic in General Car Chat
oh yeh and uh... $1000 into all of the 3 corrados 16v, G60, and VR6, the G60 will be the fastest... so if you're looking to buy VR6 over G60 just cause it has more power stock you should really reconsider... http://www.bahnbrenner.com/catalog/Perf ... e_Kit.html and an exhaust is all you really need for a G60... intake i guess... -
my theroy is buy a G60 and forget the nightmares of a VR6. buy a G60, replace the blue water temp sensor, clean the ISV, replace the vacuum line from the computer to the throttle body, replace the oxygen sensor (universal 3 wire splice in job is dirt cheap i'll explain if needed) replace the cog belt on the supercharger, and do a tune up (spark plugs, distributor cap, and rotor and check spark plug wires) after all fo that said and done any G60 will be a turn key and drive daily reliable car. just no one ever wants to believe it, but i have never needed to do anything more to any G60 than that and i've had 6 G60's and 1 VR6... i bet you can guess why i've had more G60's... and if you spend more than £50 replacing all i hjave said let me know cause i'll buy everything and ship it to you for probably around £50 maybe £55 if you don't need spark plug wires... try fixing the common problems on a VR6... you'll be poor trying to do so... head gasket, head work cause if it needs a gasket i guarantee the head is warped and needs to be taken to be resurfaced, timing chains, chain guides... if you do them seperately it will be really costly and if you do it all at once it's dicouraging cause everything is expensive especially if you have to pay someone to do it all... but hey that's why they made a 16v, G60, and VR6 in your country cause everyone has different opinions... i'm just stating mine take if how ever you like just don't take it offensive twords anyone or anything Justin

if the rado in your avitar is your rado i would say you have a car you shouldn't be uh disappointed with? cause it looks damn clean and hell i've already spent near $5000 or uh... maybe like £2450 or so (and thats guessing on the exchange rate) to make my US spec corrado be comparable to the UK spec corrado stock... my corrado when fully done and all will look like one of your cars mainly... it's seriously disappointing but i can't bring one over... but i'll stop the rant now i'm disappointed and slightly uh intoxicated... so i'll end the drunken stuper now...
-
ever watch the movies Star Wars? ...ever hear chewbacca talk? cause that's how you could expect a VR6 to sound haha oh here's another G60... mine with no muffler haha http://media.putfile.com/red-rado-rev-twice-mufflerless

hmm... alright so i uh took a new GTI for a ride today wiuth a DSG and weird, it shifts faster than the A3 DSG i drove, no hesitation inbetween shifts like the A3 had... it was weird, but good!
