wait is that $12,000 or £12,000?!?! cause if you're talking £ what the hell do you do for a living and can you get me a job? haha cause i doubt anyone would ever give anyone a loan for that much for a corrado anymore...
-
no kidding, i want to learna 3rd language and i can't decide on german or japaneese... i know i'll never use japaneese but it would be entertaining to learn such a complicated language... and which ever i learn i want to know it better than my second langauge haha

Quickest car you've been in, owned and most interesting....
vdubCorrado replied to NickVR6's topic in General Car Chat
just curious but why use a chevy engine instead of keeping it all ford... i would have thought to use a terminator engine... (i.e. from a 2003 and 2004 Mustang Cobra) see page 3 to see the car they were put in... here's an engine shot from my car when it was stock i figured if he's running a vette engine it's probably a newer one to make it worth while eh? so if that's the case he's probably still running some sort of engine management... please don't get offended by this i am just curious, if you come back i would like to know what engine he actually put in the 36... LS6? LS2? would be quite amazed if it had an LS7 i'm not gonna lie... -
only 2 new valves? i know what i would pay here in the states... no more than $300 so i would guess like £150... on my ABA 8v head i paid $250 for hot tanking to clean it, new guides, new valves, and decking the head (shaved the bottom to make it flat again) so roughly £125 to do all that... but well thats according to US market prices... but then again i would think Corrado and VR6 parts would be worth less over there cause i would think them to be more plentiful...

oh yeh they say like 350hp at the crank is the most the DSG can take... i hear someone here in the states is making a kit tomake them stronger but rumored to make it handle 450hp to the wheels...

if anyone cares to read i have 2 magazine atricles scanned that put the corrado up against many other cars, one is a G60 the other is for a VR6... they are american, but you would get an idea of what everyone had to say about them... but beware they are american magazines and VW didn't pay them to review the car so they pointed out stupid things to make the car seem worse so they can place the cars the companies paid to have the test done higher in the list... i.e. Honda... but anyone wants to see them say the word and i'll post em up...

impressed, but personally, and i know this is a giant controversy, but in my integra i honestly feel i could get through the gears faster than the DSG can... i guess the slight pause makes me think so... that and i'm a fast shifter... not saying i am the best or anything but i don't know or have seen anyone be able to shift faster than i can... but then it also goes to the other end of the specrum where the DSG easily outshifts people... but where i can or not, i feel if i can or come close i'd rather standard... but damn right if i bought a new GTI it'd be DSG and i'd wait for the launch control coming out late 2007!!!

that sucks... never had mine wrecked but i sold it and hunted it down for 3 years from owner to owner trying to get i back... hope you come across something...

Whats the most embarrasing moment you've had in your corrado
vdubCorrado replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
haha a guy in an IROC camaro thought he was the best thing since soft serve ice cream, looked my my corrado like it was garbage (at the time had a built 1.9L stage 4 with only a rebuilt G60, but shortly after went lysholm) so i haded the guys ass to him badly. well appearently the gas guage in my rado is off by different increments... topped off it's 1/4 tank off (reads low) and appearently down twords the bottom it's like dead on or opposite and well i ran out of gas... HAHAHA -
ugh... all we have here in the states is a 4 door S3... i hate this country when it comes to cars haha

picture request... underhood pic of right drive G60
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in General Car Chat
any way to get a larger size picture of that through email or something? -
i am looking to get a good close up picture of a stock (by that i mean no giant modifications, bolt on fine) G60... i am curious about the 2 part brake system the right side drive cars have... just general look around so i can look what i have to do if i really decide to convert to right side drive... thanks Justin
-
if it fit the golf and jetta it would also fit the Corrado G60 and 16v but not VR6... but since you have a 16v you would be alright... but the FK line coil overs aren't the best of coil overs but they're not junk... i know a couple of people who use them and love em...

differences between Rallye Golf and Corrado G60 suspension?
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Drivetrain
awesome! thanks for clearing that up... as soon as the car is about together i will start looking for the stuff i need, thanks again! -
i have on set right next to my V-AFC2... problem being that's a honda haha but AVC-R hard to hook up? maybe if you've never worked on a car before  no one take offense to it it wasn't serious... but honestly it's not that hard to hook up... run your ground wire... run your power wire to your ignition switch to turn on while the car is on... run the wires through the fire wall to the selenoid, wire the selenoid, and then run the selenoid through the vacuum line between the turbo and the wastegate... now mount the selenoid. close the hood, start the car, set the boost level. go and drive, never worry about it again! i love mine in my DB2 GSR Turbo... no problems in what 2 years now!

vdubCorrado replied to NickVR6's topic in General Car Chat
  i own it... 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (4.6L supercharged) as i would almost call it stupid fast... it hasn't been dyno'd yet, but if it doesn't put out 550hp i'm going to be seriously pissed... actually angry... but here in the states, this is THE car to beat... they run a 12.4 stock and bolt on mods will hit 10.9's in the 1/4 mile... mines well completely "bolted on" as it gets... soon will be a new more efficient charger after the Rado's up and running... i would like to run it against some upper class cars, but people just look at my car in freight cause it's so loud and stomping on it anywhere below 60mph causes it to break loose... (had a kid i know in his lambo gallardo just straight out say my cobra is faster so he doesn't even want to race me and chance getting caught... easy to own a car like that when your dad owns a porsche, bmw, audi, vw, mazda, pontiac, buick, and mercury dealer... i hope i didn't forget any haha the bastard has my rabbit now, i want it back) -
differences between Rallye Golf and Corrado G60 suspension?
vdubCorrado posted a topic in Drivetrain
so i was thinking in time i want to run a Rallye Golf AWD system on my car... been tossing the idea around for a while, even had some prices quoted, but i want to buy a suspension for my Corrado now... i know the A2 suspension when it comes to coil overs is the same as Corrado, by that i mean they atleast can be made to swap... curious if i could do the same... or are they totally different? -
think that crazy frenchman would give me his headlights? haha i am looking for late style french headlights haha
-
careful with painting the refelctive lense... if you use tape on the reflecting chromeish section it will probably peel right off with the tape... it's very weak... even masking tape pulls it up usually... although i have seen people get away with it... here's the big thing here in the states with headlights...

fog and signal lights... difference in early and late?
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Exterior
yeh... pics were a little too small to really be able to tell the difference... it seems they just seem to be alot smaller when you upload them through the site rather than when you host yourself... -
fog and signal lights... difference in early and late?
vdubCorrado replied to vdubCorrado's topic in Exterior
hmmm.. your sig pic took me to a thread that was 19 pages long, and the only thing i found on the whole thing about the bumper was saying you had to replace with early style and are going to settle for early bumper and late lights? maybe i'm looking in thw rong place? thanks Justin -
Phil K's old C and others - new German Coupe!

"They say made in Itally on the inside of the spokes... I'm guessing they're MilleMiglia (sp) - don't know if they're discontinued but AFAIK they have stopped casting them for now so they remain fairly exclusive(not that it's the be all and end all) Still don't know what to do though and sleeping on it hasn't helped much..." yeh they are Mille Miglia and to the best of my knowledge, they are going out of business if they are not already out... i hear a few others are headed twords that fate as well... every one wants to buy cheap ugly wheels... atleast here in the states... i was really trying to get my hands on those wheels and couldn't so i bought Racing Hart C2's in need of some lips instead... -
i dunno i'll see if i can dig the one up we have here in the states... it's uhh some sort of green haha
