its the low pressure switch ie if the pressure is lower then 0.3 bar the light/buzzer comes on anything over is ok, you should get 1 to 5 bar inthat line
-
i think you might be right about the mapping, i'll let you know after my next remap

he's talking bollocks its not a rover, as posted the headgasket only needs changing if its failed or if the head it taken off for any other repair. he maybe thinking of the fault of the cat being under the oil sump that gets the oil to hot turning it to sludge and killing the engine

if its on a K plate you need a new lambda sensor looks like its stuck on rich if its on a J plate slap the tester as he/she should be doing a non-cat test

cambelt change at 100k or 10 years the heater valve gets stuck so you get no heat in the winter they over heat its a ford so cheap to fix and needs fixing weekly and its a bit of a lifter's car :camp:

if you remove the switches and cover the lights so they dont work you need nothing not even brake lights, you can take your windscreen out to then you dont need wipers or washers it might not be legal but it will pass a test just to upset you today :bad-words: if the car was first used before 1 January 1936 then stop lamp are not needed anything after that stop lamps are needed to pass. yes you can pass with no sidelights front or rear but for day time use only :norty: ps asda have humble pie buy one get one free  Stop lamps are not a legal requirement if the vehicle is fitted with neither front nor rear position lamps etc. (see 1.1), sorry mate your turn you can have my free pie from asda :D yes i should have mentioned daytime use only and a vt32 should be issued 1.1This inspection applies to: all vehicles, except those which either have no front or rear position lamps or have such lamps permanently disconnected, painted over or masked that are . only used during daylight hours, and . not used at times of seriously reduced visibility. If this situation occurs, the vehicle presenter should be issued with a VT32 (advisory notice) recording the above. i rest my case :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Cheers. And what about the sidelight thing, must all cars have sidelights? if you remove the switches and cover the lights so they dont work you need nothing not even brake lights, you can take your windscreen out to then you dont need wipers or washers it might not be legal but it will pass a test just to upset you today :bad-words: if the car was first used before 1 January 1936 then stop lamp are not needed anything after that stop lamps are needed to pass. yes you can pass with no sidelights front or rear but for day time use only :norty: ps asda have humble pie buy one get one free

the analyzers do have the info/details for cars 92 up to 95 (with lasts years update) and its the emission data book number 13 as of august 2007.

I have a 92 g60 so i'm interested. :) So the emission laws have got tighter? emission laws have not got tighter in fact on pre n reg cars the emission laws have got slacker relevant info there is earlier limits than what follows but there pre corrado limits are as follows upto m reg cars and inclusive the limits are upto 1200 ppm and 3.5% (this is idle test only no fast idle required), from N to august 2002 the limit is 200ppm and .3% and there after the limit is 200 ppm and .2% which obviously does not effect the corrado you need to know the figures your car failed on if they were over 3.5% you have a problem that needs sorting any way :) oh yes one more little jem no car in the uk needs a cat as long as it falls into the emission limits specified by age your not far out but cars First used between 1/8/86 and 31/7/92 - meter test CO First used between 1/8/92 and 31/7/94 - advanced emission test (CAT) if its running on petrol when presented,CO so if you have a 'k' reg onwards car it will have a basic emission test will be carried out initially. if it fails its checked to vehicle specific limits, ie limits for a 9a,pg engine. if the engine is not listed for that car (ie your have fitted a 1.8t) then no cat is needed and pre cat limits used but only upto 'n' reg sorry mate 92 >94 cars are now on 3.5% and 1200 ppm your analyzer will test the car in the 0.3% and200ppm in basic emission test if it fails it will go into full cat test and will then tell you there are no details for this car (i have not tested a car yet including the c that the machine has had details for between 92>95) and tests 3.5% 1200 ppm and no lambda and thats all mot tests upto 1/8/ 1995 , so you test a car as full cat test straight away and the 3.5% and 1200ppm come straight into play and thats how it is . when did this change theres no 'SN' on this and the flow chart in the guide is still the same http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/reposit ... 2-2002.pdf

is the car on a 'j' or 'k' plate? and what readings did you get co,hc and lambda?
-
whats going wrong with the bbm chargers, is it the same thing each time?
-
on the top neck of the thing under the rubber seal that meats the engine cover not the cam cover there will be a part number printed
-
whats the engine code and do you mean the oil cap it's self or the part under it with the breather pipes ?
-
is it over heating? how much pressure is there when you take off the coolant cap?
-
have you got mayo in the oil and water or just under the oil cap? is it over heating? as it maybe just a split/blocked oil breather on the camcover
-
check this link http://www.motester.co.uk/cog.html

the log book (v5c) if your are from the uk is the bit of paper you filled in with your name and address when you bought the car, it was then posted back to you to say you own the car the vin number will not match the engine number do a google on vw vin numbers there are lots of sites that will decode you vin number and some you show the engine number listed to you car
