on the log book(v5c) for the car there should be an engine number listed and that should match the number on the engine

unplug the maf and give it a drive, if its got more power change it, dead maf's don't allways show on fault code readers

try pushing and jiggling the key in the ignition barrel when the voltage drops and see it it comes back up, my g60's doing the same thing :( -

is the boost loss at the same rev range ie 3 to 4 k?

have you checked the battery voltage when/as your setting the timing? or when the fan kicks in?

15k out of the fronts? have you checked if the mats stoping the loud pedal going all the way down?

it's been posted on here before that you set the timing holding the rev's at round 2.5 to 3k ,is this not the case? on the CO settings is this done at idel and if the cat's not fitted are the setting the same? -
don't spray carb cleaner around the inlet manifold with the engine running looking for air leaks when the exhaust manifold is glowing red hot :oops:

still trying to run her in, so far the oil temp went up to 140 so i moved the new cooler the new crank oil seal has failed covering my new cambelt in oil :( the new t/stat housing started leaking oil temp still 140 move oilcooler again new camshaft oil seal fails covering cambelt numer 2 in oil :( tryed setting the timing again unplug blue sender and the exhaust manifold starts glowing :cry: recheck timing marks all spot on manifold still glowing check charging 13.5v from cold but 12v hot and 9.5v with fan running new alternator ordered :(

what reg/year is it? has it been put though an mot, if so what did it fail on? only 1 in 10 sunroofs still slide how much is it up for?

after 6 long months she's back on the road :D , just need to run her in now

no washers=mot fail if the washer bootle and pump is still there and working, run some pipe to the wiper arms,split the pipe with a 'y' pipe to make one pipe for each wiper arm, run each pipe up an arm with end in the middle of the wiper blade (just tape the pipe to the arms) test to make sure the water to hitting the windscreen and the wipers are clearing it, that will pass your mot, once its passed and your home again remove all the pipes untill next year

is the battery lamp working on the dash? check your getting around 14v at the alternator (main wire), then around 14v at the starter motor then on to the battery

it may have been a 1.8t badged as an S3 like most 316 bm's have 'M' badges as they add 15bhp

got a few bits in the post today, still waiting for more bits 4 months after ordering them

1 airbag lights are not an MOT fail be it on,off or flashing, its not part of the test in any way 2 if the lights on the bag can't go off
