right, apart from wiring try one last thing. Remove the dizzy from the engine and remove the leads and dizzy cap so youve just got dizzy with rotor arm.plug the hall sender in and attach a spark plug to the king lead end making sure its earthed to the engine(not you or youll get shocked) Turn the ignition on but dont turn the engine over.move the rotor arm on the dizzy by hand.the spark plug should spark.if it doesnt its the hall sender or wiring. if it sparks start looking at a mechanical failure of some type, maybe dizzy drive or intermidate shaft.

This kind of thing only happens on the 29th of febuary!! Was told by one of mates,he found it and spent last night chuckling then felt bit depressed I miss her...

Im not happy chappy mate to be honest, but there you go. Found second hand fuel rail yesterday in german VW scene ads for 40 euro so saved 106 euro already.FPR included too!The HG is unavoidable,so is the turbo. But i might have a second hand pair of cams with lower mileage and new set of followers from my german buddy at cheaper price. My fingers are crossed they take the head off and hopefully there isnt much bore wear!!!!!! Do you ever get the feeling youve been let down?

My 20v conversion has ground to a halt.I decided to have a look last week to check overall condition of the engine. What was worrying was the amount of axial play in the turbo and oil leak at rear of the engine. So decided to sent it to a audi specialist who deals with these engines day in,day out. Oh dear, the turbo bearings are on the limit of wear, blades just touching the compressor walls. The head gasket has started to leak and the cam lobes are quite worn. The FPR is damaged and the fuel rail is cracked. :( Been quoted 798 euro to fix it.Bummer :( suppose ive got to fork out for it now.

so long as the ecu is a 25 pin type the pinouts will remain the same.all they do is use more of the pins for extra functions if your g60 supports it.With the exception of a rallye ecu.
-
The supercetion was down to software,i believe hardware stayed the same. But not 100% sure. Some of the differences were aircon,non-aircon,automatic gearboxes,California emissions(i had this ecu in my old US model).Just be aware putting older type ecu might put emissions higher(June 92 onwards was allowed 0.3% CO while earlier was 3.5% CO) but i cant verify this.

is yours a 25 pin ecu? or 38 pin? pin 19 if its 25 pin ecu and pin 29 if its a 38 pin one
-
Is your ecu a 25 pin or 38 pin one? i dont think the ecu handles immobilizers on g60's,think thats more of an aftermarket thing.VRs have them, not sure about early VR's though Apperently theres little or no difference between ecus, mostly software difference.Just stay away from rallye ecus.theyre designed to run different injectors

What tyres came fitted as standard/ OEM on the Storms??
dannyboy replied to Dazza Storm's topic in Exterior
I totally agree, had them with i had my on golf gti valver and nearly crashed into a roundabout at 30mph in damp and that wasnt decellarating either.Got uniroyals on there the next day,as i was very shocked at the poor performance of a mainstream tyre! -
check the joints,as the manual states the ecu needs to be replaced if your not getting a signal

Cheers for that karl,he was busy even when i was picking the engine up.I know he's not a bad bloke but unforunately it was the only way to get in contact dale.Ill retract him from bad sellers as soon as get it.
-
sounds like the connector has popped out of the switch, had that when i bought mine.Pull the switch out and have a look is it still connected
-
sorry i meant it wont start when its hot,did you check for spark when its hot?
-
did you check the spark when it wont start?

The engine code is PG.Mines a 1990,an earlier corrado so wiring is a little bit different. just had a look,1991-1992 wiring changed and on the diagram only has two wires, digifant green to terminal 1 and black to terminal 15 Have you checked the coil itself? pull king-lead off dizzy, get a spare sparkplug, earth it to the engine and check for spark when cranking on that topic,is the engine earth good? if its busted it might be causing your probs with weak spark

ill be on tomorrow, give me a shout if you need more help or get it sorted. its 22:05 here in germany and have to be up early at 6am.
-
two seconds ill find out ---------- Post added at 07:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ---------- bingo found it,your electrics are same as 1990 model. The Red/black goes back to the fusebox, connection G1 pin 12. ---------- Post added at 08:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:58 PM ---------- Funny enough, the digifant relay uses that same track to power the digi unit......
-
ok just to confirm green+ black, red are are part of the same terminal, noticed when i took the king lead off
-
aaaahhhh... now i see.your coil is cubed shaped am i correct? mines the older round can shaped one.No prob thought.theyre pretty much the same anyway
-
what year is your g60? mines a 1990 and mine is a three wire coil.
-
voltage will drop as battery uses all its power for turning starter. There should be three wires going to the coil-as you said black wire +ve,Green wire -ve, and trigger wire in the middle
-
right buddy, check the black/red wire to the coil, its the trigger wire for the coil to discharge
-
Thats an awesome use of lifting equipment especially for a recovery truck!!!

as danny b said check the tank.id say its the return feed thats leaking. Its just three posti screws in the booth holding black cover plate on booth floor
