if the voltage pulses then the hall sender should be working. You can confirm this. To test hall sender gently remove rubber cover on the connector to the dizzy to expose terminals but leave connector connected.put a LED across the center and outside wire. The LED will flicker when you turn engine over.If it doesnt your hall sender is busted. You can use this to test almost any dizzy fitted with hall sender

DONT!!!!!! whatever you do dont unplug the Isv while engine is running. It burns out the Isv driver in the ecu and it'll never idle right again
-
it might be the idle screw is set bit too low or o-ring perished that when the fan kicks in the engine will stall. Is the isv clean?give it bit of a clean might help. If it stalls again, disconnect the connector for the injector rail, turn the engine over for a second or two.reconnect the injector rail.then try start
-
is the engine stalling when fan comes on or does it sound like its running out of fuel?

decat pipe 'should' be the same as raddo has golf front.but like everything with vag, you'll hve to check to be sure.

Decided to vist the scrap yard close to me to see if i could find a steering pump as the g60 one is offset a bit so belt wont line up. Found a nice mk3 golf with front end already off and stacked on top of another car so it was easy to get the pump off. Back to the garage, took the pump and bolted it on to the engine and finally the pulley from mk4 golf.Perfect fit. One job down, hundred to go.... Also had a sale on so treated myself to new pressure washer and its very good :smug: Managed to get 6.3 l/100km on the way back from hamburg, result! (i didnt cheat,i didnt reset mfa or anything, just drove feathering the throttle) Who says G60's are petrol guzzler's? :thumbleft:

yep, this is best way.Just hold down the side that opens and get someone to pull bonnet again and other side thats stuck should open

Just a quick update, loom is half finished, just need to add the G1 and G2 connectors so it will be a straight plug in to the fuse box but the info on the VSS is still a little hazy. Some people say you need an adpator to get the signal properly, others say just to bridge the diodie so im not sure.Need to weld up a plate onto the pedalbox to mount DBW pedal and find the right steering pump as g60 one is a 52 mm offset when it needs to be 40 odd mm. ive been busy lately but had time to look over the engine properly. The turbo has quite a bit of axial play(not touching sides but close),the engine is weeping oil slighty at the head gasket at the rear and FRP vacuum union on top is bent due to sellers lifting chains. not looking good. :( Add to that missing a MAF sensor(costs 137 new over here). Might take the sump off to make sure the seller hasnt sold me a completely duff engine :(

alex, the temp sensors should have an o-ring to seal them.they are a nice tight fit when you fit them

She asked me 'what car do i have'.i replied 'you wont have heard of it,VW Corrado'.She said 'Of course i do,ive owned a G60 for 8 years in black' I said i didnt believe her so she invited me back to her house where she had a picture of her Raddo on the wall!!! Good lass. Plus it was a smooth way to get to know her better, yeah :norty: My mother can never get it right when i come for a visit.....clorrado,corrola... she just calls it,red noisey 'thing' -

slave cylinder rattle? whats that?

100% correct.Especially locking them away for summer use. Most problems happen to cars that have been sitting too long unused.I had to maintan fleet of 35 warriors and before that 23 CR2's.The ones with the most problems were the ones that didnt get used as much. The ones that got used all the time apart from normal wear and tear never broke down apart from driver/operator error. I used to get into daily fiat punto, drive to work or to the shops.open the door, key in the igintion, start, finish driving, lock door and walk off without looking back. Its boring and lifeless machince that gets you from A to B.Made in a factory with 100's of thousands more so your not worried about finding another one if it blows up or gets written off.thats more of a inconvience. Corrado, get in the car, wait for fuel pump to prime, startup, wait for ABS to go out.you listen to see how your baby is running today? drive off feeling that little vibration that you felt yesterday thinking I need to sort that or find out what it is?You dont rev above 3000 rpm til oil is 80 degrees.you see people driving past looking at your car or looking at it at traffic lights.get to where you want to go(most times).gently pull handbrake just til you feel brakes lock on to stop stretching the cable. get out, lock the car walk away but look back nearly everytime. Why?Because you know you have a car thats not only getting rare but was handbuilt with quality, was expensive in its time and is the most fun youll have with a car without buying something ten or more times the price.

renew the slave cylinder. They have a habit of popping seals on high milers with older ones and leak fluid all over your new clutch You dont have to renew it but its recommended. Im 99% sure VR clutches fit a g60 but there is different size ones when you start looking past organic clutches.Or keep your standard g60 one. Not to sound horrible but you might want to post in driveline threads next time :thumbleft:

if the charger is maintaned properly and the oil change at proper intervals the engine will last well over 250k. mine had 352k on the clock before i changed it only because it was never rebuilt and was worried. Ive just stripped old engine to see what state it was in and i was very surpised to find very little wear(only big end and main bearing shells showed light wear and hydralic tappets had slight marks down their sides)Even the lip at the top of the bore was not even worth a rebore. But like every car, depends on how it was treated.
