so long as the ep number is the sameas the oem, shouldnt matter what type of brand oil you use in the diff just certain brands last longer and work better in different boxes
-
i used the castrol, good stuff.as the guys said i will make your box shift smoother Id change oil every five to six years or 80000 miles(about same time as cambelt).if it looks brown or smells burnt, change it. extreme pressure oil is good stuff but deteriorates with age and heat

keep us updated on your 16vg60 project,im looking to do one too.But waiting til i get funds together :(
-
Some have slight differences(california emissions,aircon,ect.....),but all will work normal in your g60 Just stay away from the golf one,its setup to run different injectors and will overfuel a corrado

Sorry didnt read last post correctly, Are you sure the cap has the correct opening pressure on the cap? Cant remember off the top of my head what pressure it was (think about 16 psi) but if your one is too low thats prob why its doing it.

just check the big rubber o-ring is sitting correctly in the groove on the coolant cap.seen this happen lot of times(i even done it once  )

Awesome, cheers dude just what i was looking for. There is no difference between CTN box off a passat, caddy or golf is there? one ive seen is off a passat 1.9 tdi 1996
-
Cause i chewed my last ATA box when i was only putting out 223 bhp(not really ragging it either) so rather not run a petrol box It would be nice to save bit of fuel on long journies back to uk,so ctn or asd box sounds better and prob takes bit more punishment than petrol boxes
-
light probs sound like battery is gone, mine was same when got mine
-
Pulley is easy to get off,you just need to hold the pulley with apporiate tool(i used large adjustable pliers to hold it,around the belt on the pulley makes it easy) Take belt off unscrew bolt on the pulley ,pulley off ,new pulley on(remember to make sure woodruff key is sitting in place) ,tighten pulley bolt ,new belt on torque tighten the pulley bolt with belt on holding the pulley Wash your hands, and great ready for so fun

forget to metion,it has a ATB gearbox on it at the moment which isnt too bad, better 5th than the ATA box but i need a longer 5th
-
sorry dude, its PG Reason im asking is because the car WILL be getting moddified so stronger and longer box is needed cheers dude

hi guys, i know youve prob heard this million times but i have searched for it and cant find it. Is anyone running a ASD code gearbox?i was reading that it has a very long 5th.what would this be like in standard rado? Its either ASD or a CTN box. Found CTN box for 329 euro with 41k on it but also found ASD box with 46k for 150 euro All i want is to cruise down the autobahn, low rpm(high speed) and bit of accelaration on the lower gears, not bothered about 0-60 timings or anything like that. CTN or ASD? Also are these boxes a direct swap?Being 02a boxes they should be,hopefully :confused4:

is that the proper lifting frame? looks like it! how much did that cost?
-
dont bother with a/c. My pump failed which caused me alot of problems including getting stranded in the dartford tunnel :( Use the windows :norty

thats because the vw bug has bitten you  :D Your hooked for life now Dave!
-
Thats pretty much the same what i do when aligning,i think corrado clutch is a piece of p155 to fit.but then it would be easy compared to some of the clutches ive worked on!some centrifugal cltches are a right f@~kn pain!
-
im going to have a look at mine, got spare two forks so if it is then it should fix it straight away! might even put the clutch off my other engine, looks pretty new anyway but look at the one thats on my car at d mo! i know it sounds chip-shop but has anyone used a half inch drive extension to line up the cultch plate? seems to fit perfect :norty:
-
Hope your able to sort it soon Dave! Mines the same at the moment, biting point is a inch from the floor and ive bled the system. Not losing any hydralic fluid. the slave cylinder looks brand new on my one,so guy before looks like he tried to solve the problem but failed. mine will go into every gear but have to force to clutch to the floor before i do or the gearbox will sound more like a jukebox :D

Yeah i would have said the same too! doesnt help the most important pipe in the car thats made of rubber being above the hottest pipe on the car, great thinking VW! :cuckoo: :cuckoo: Gives me an idea, what about putting a bit of heat insultator around the pipe, might make it last bit longer?hell im pretty sure that i could use silicone hose,so long as its tough enough? :) anyone know what vw this i/c is off?bought it years ago never got round to fitting it cause couldnt decide which i/c to use  Came with pipes too! other i/c is off a merc sprinter which doenst seem too bad a fit! also this will be fitted until i start my little project, gettin rid of that leak prone charger outlet box and might as well recon these two babies, left one has had quite a bit of porting :norty:

hi guys After driving back 750km from passau in germany i noticed that the fuel comsumption real world was alot worse than the display. the display said i was getting 7.6l/100 when i was driving between 100-110 km/h but the tank was empty after 420km!!(brimmed tank!) So with a little time on my hands it was time to investagte!! Good place to start, the exhaust! Bingo!!! Overfuelling quite a bit! Right time to find problem :brickwall: found one prob Only the most important hose on the car!hose was very soft and internal diameter is bigger due to wear. So off to VW to get new hose.Came next day 8 euro After last time i got a hose i decided to check length(last time they gave me hose 96cm long!)excatly 1m 8) Then out of curiousity i put the old hose and new hose together and found a shocking discovery Old hose was two cm too short New hose on,took her for spin and.... all good again.......until next time :norty: Which i/c should i run guys? this one? or this one?
-
my model doesnt have a sunroof either,is that a good thing? :? i prefer not to have one as it does f$%k all on a rado anyway except add weight!
