How do I adjust the sensitivity of the proximity sensors on my C, as at the moment it will randomly give a warning tone and pisses off the neighbours. Also does anyone know how I turn off permenantly the proximity sensor (just incase adjusting the sensitivity doesnt fix it) Danke :-) Foggy

Foggystorm replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
black or grey is a hell of a lot better than that scary white one, but still looks poo poo -
red and clear rears on now (took the car for a caining down some back roads so it is filthy now but I did have a laugh)

Foggystorm replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
yeah I bought one of these and it should be delivered next week, got a SB key on ebay for a tenner and will try and fit it -
Alloys arrived and fitted (just managed to finish it before the rain started) No pictures yet as it is still pissing it down outside, and I guess that means my clear side repeaters and red and clear rears will have to wait till tomorrow

I am 28 so not exactly young (but not exactly old I like to still think!!) I got quoted £508 fully comp with my missus as a named driver with unlimited mods other than a roll cage and thats with an agreed value of my Storm of £5500, protected no claims bonus,£300 excess and limit of 5000 miles per year. That quote is with full no claims bonus, and I even got a discount for being a member of this forum as it counts as an owners club!!! :-)

Foggystorm replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Mine hasnt broken yet but would like to order a pair just incase :-) -
I have found the OEM ones the best although they are the most expensive ones I have had (£109 for the set of 6)

They even gave me a 10 iscount on labour charges as I am a regular customer there!! (as I booked my Passat in for a service while I was there) The other bits on the invoice were for a new engine cover, cigarette lighter replacement (as it didnt work anymore) and a new bonnet stay as mine had rusted) and they fitted all of it within the hour for me

My local VW service centre replaced my sunroof motor and serviced the sunroof (including new cables and lubrication) for £250 (£185 for the motor and 1 hour labour @ £65) This includes a 2 year parts and labour guarantee of the work!! I was well happy!!!! Some people on this forum said the job takes hours and hours to do, but I dropped the car off at 09:00 this morning and they rang me at 10:45 to say it was ready to pick up. I now have a sunroof that tilts AND slides and doesnt make a juddering noise (Now I have a working sunroof that pretty much guarantees no more sun this year :-( ) the service centre is part of the main Bath VW dealership and is called: Motor Services Chippenham Telephone: 01249 667766 Address: Methuen Pk, Chippenham, SN14 0GX
