Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've disturbed wiring whilst changing the head unit so I'd start there. If it was working before the swap, then I doubt the problem is at the speaker end. TBH I'd think about Audioscape pods for the doors, you're really not going to see that much improvement in swapping the originals for another set of 5.25"s. The Audioscapes allow for 6.5"s to be fitted, which when amped up, sound MUCH better. Can't help you out with the switch pic sorry, my cameras gone walkabout Good luck, and let's see some pics of your motor!

Drug him with laced milk before every journey, a la B.A. Barracus, and lie him in the boot. :D -
I'd start with getting the sensors outta the hubs and giving them a good clean, be prepared to struggle to get them out, but that'll hopefully clear the signal fault. The hydraulic pump issue is anyones guess I suppose, but I agree, it doesn't sound promising... :gag:

The paint on that looks fresher than mine

It's freeware on the actual Rosstech site. You only pay if you want to unlock the fault codes, which is pointless as the code translations are easy enough to find online. Nothing illegal about it. Rosstech just fleece people who are daft enough to shell out the cash without doing any research first.

Paid a tenner for my eBay Chinese jobby, downloaded a copy of vagcom, works perfectly on my C and my bro's A4. I did however go for a serial connector, not USB, as I'd herad they can be problematic...

Been meaning to get off my arse and order some of these, were they from DDI??

Thats the front part of the front crossmember, a real rust prone part. I dont think that part of the panel is load bearing, but, i'd want to change that out anyway. Funnily enough just seen one for sale here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=83775 HTH

TOUCHSCREEN TABLET LAPTOP 4 VAG CARS DIAGNOSTICS EOBD

I'd be more tempred to buy a £10 lead, and "find" some software online tbh mate. Ross-tech is the official site for the software, but it can be found "elsewhere"... -
Will do Steve, cheers.

Holy sh*t! A Burner! It must more than 20 years since I last saw one of those! Can you still source original stickers, and bar protectors and stuff??
-
Yeah cleared the codes, then re-scanned, came back with the same faults... Odd that the light goes out though do you reckon?
-
My ABS light has been on intermittantly recently, so Ive had the sensors out of the hubs given them a good clean, and it seems to have cured the problem. In the week my VAGCOM lead arrived, so I've given the car the once over, and it has thrown up a fault with 2 of the sensors, even though the light now goes out on startup. So are these false readings or is it possible to have a problem with the sensors and still see the light go out? BTW, if anyone local wants theirs scanning, I'd be happy to oblige...

Factory fresh under the bonnet! 8) Didn't know you'd bought her back, can't say I blame you though, don't know how you managed to sell her in the 1st place. Brilliant work! :salute:

Did you change the fuel filter at the same time? It may be that the filter is blocked, putting strain on the pump. When i changed my fuel pump, the filter was the original still from 1995!!

water leak on passenger side - not foliage seal !
mattnorgrove replied to macscorcher's topic in Interior
Not heard of that one before either! Well done for tracking that down, another one to add to the mental check list!! -
If it fires and runs for about a second and then dies, it sounds like it might be a problem with the immobiliser. is it a factory fitted one?
-
Indeed you have, but I'd keep your polish fetish to yourself if I were you  Kev you know my colour :camp: Both your colours are there, top right: Mystic Blue, bottom middle: Ice Ghey Violet

Received my kit today Dave, many thanks, just gotta fit the bugger now! -
You'll need some custom subframes to fit the TT front seats, I'm pretty sure it has/can be done though. Should improve it massively. Lets see some pics!!

What a nice bunch. "Stab him up a bit, punch him in the face, beat his head with a keyboard" The guy was only on a wind up ffs, I think they need to cut out the steroids.
