Where did you get the leather panel replaced? I could probably do with replacing the panel behind the drivers seat
-
Quite a beast! Engine bay still looking up to your normal standards!
-
Well if patience is running thin you could always try sticking a BMC on, you defaintely won't hear it then :D
-
Can't remember to be honest, I did a lot of driving shortly after, including a 2500 miles trip round europe. It's probably worth checking it's not blowing anywhere but your description does sound very similar to what i had
-
I noticed a similar sound when I had my 6 branch and de cat fitted. Give it time and it should completely go, its just air travelling down a metal pipe. Once the carbon deposits start building up it'll go and you're just left with a nice roar

Any VR owners felt the need to get a 2nd car?
Mark_Storm replied to Veearrhsix's topic in General Car Chat
I am fortunate enough to get a car from work now but if I had to give it up I would get another daily driver to keep the C for the weekends. Driving something slow and boring during the week means its still a treat every weekend when it comes out of the garage, as clean as when i tucked it up last week :D -
Not sure if I understood him right on that, or whether he was having me on. Either way I didn't go with them in the end, booked it in with Trim Wizard and glad I did
-
Finally got my alarm sorted the other week. Got let down by the chap in Bristol so went to Andy (Trimwazard) and was very impressed, can't recommend the guy enough. Really knows his stuff and helped change the wiring on a couple of things. Definately worth the trip over!

That looks feckin awesome! Any idea what power you're expecting? Should get you round the island in a matter of seconds!
-
You only need a short bracket piece (6 inches at most, bendable, with a few holes drilled) , pretty sure Halfords do them. I had some issues with getting the BMC the right way around first time:? If you look carefully there is writing on the ends of the filter housing "air flow side" and "engine side" but this is what the airflow side should look like (picture courtesy of CazzaVR): Am 12bhp down after fitting one of these but just taken it apart to clean and seen I had it the wrong way round! Previous obvious when you look at it, feel like a right muppet!

It has to be said, you are proper nutz! But I'm very much looking forward to seeing it working (would say finished but doubt that'll ever happen)!

I notice there is no longer any supercharger listed in your signature...
-
I didn't fit mine, had them done at a local garage so not sure on the whole studs vs bolts. I didn't bother wrapping mine, couldn't see anything it could potentially burn through so figured it was a waste of time. Does get serioulsy hot though!

The welds on my raceland 6 branch we're really good, better than I was expecting for the money!
-
Nice pics, how did you get the car onto the esplanade?
-
Hey Steve, nice upgrade! Have you finished in Bristol now? You'll need to get a well paying job cos I have a feeling the next few months could be expensive!
-
Certainly will mate, will have to grab a ride this time!
-
I'm asuming you're happier about your award than you look

I think it was off a Passat originally. VW reckon there's 2 types although didn't have any in stock so no idea if the connectors are different. Took it to a garage and they managed to get the sensor out of the cat so can now use the one from the de cat :) Please lock this up
-
Its MOT time so got to put the cat back on. I had to scrap my original CAT as the threads for the lambda sensor stripped as they took it out. Bought another that looks identical in every way except the opposite end of the lambda sensor is a different shape so won't connect. Anyone got any bright ideas? I did try taking out but its pretty well seized in there so guessing it'll strip the threads if i do. P1010015.JPG[/attachment:37pr64rq]

The schrick inlet manifold makes very little difference to the power. With the schrick fitted, a k&n panel filter, 6 branch, decat & magnex I was only getting 200bhp. Schrick cams & a remap took it to 220bhp.

Did a trip last year: Calais to Nice (through the Alps), over to Milan, up to Switzerland (near Verbier), then to Paris before back to Calais. Best part by far was driving through the Alps. Can't go wrong, fantastic roads everywhere! Just watch out for the rozzers, can't give you points but can still take a chunk out of the spending money! Being caught on camera doesn't count though thankfully :D

Got a k&n panel filter up for grabs now

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Having a go at this at last but not sure if I have the same problem: I have removed the door handle from the door but the lever arm is not broken. The handle still seems to work when off but just doesn't open the door. Any ideas?
