  1. Always seems to happen to me. Whenever I see another COrrado I'm in my sh!tty work Astra :(
  2. I got stopped the first time me and my bro took our new cars out together. Nailed it down the slip road on to the motorway, nearly hitting 3 figures before even getting on and ran out of revs in 4th. Came off at the next junction and the Omega we had passed on the slip road pulled up behind and put his lights on :| He complemented us on the cars but no so much the driving. Gave us 3 points which I thought was pretty fair, considering I thought I'd just lost my license. Saving it all for the Autobhans now :D
  3. About £300 on stuff I needed, about £3k on stuff i wanted
  4. I've fitted a Magnex recently and wouldn't have anything else. Have you read the latest PVW? Magnex exhausts are all laser cut in the same factory as all Aston Martins along with a few others, can't go wrong. Having said this I haven't seen or heard a supersprint so can't actually compare.
  5. Have you fitted a different gaitor? If not how did you get yours to fit properly?
  6. Possibly, but then how would they know? As long as they flash orange then they have no real reason to check, unlike my blatent red ones at the mo! If this is the case though, do I still need to swap them back to the originals for the MOT?
  7. Fitted the rears yesterday and was a piece of p!ss, took 2 hours on my own. It's obviously been a long time since the rear wheels have been off as they'd stuck to the hubs, but a swift kick from behind and off they came, and that's about the only trouble I had :). Got them set up the same height as the front, will drop them further when i fit the front's this week. So easy to adjust! Don't even have to take the wheel off or use the spanners, just jack the car up and you can do it by hand!
  8. Went to Motaman yesterday and they want £13 for 1 amber led with about 10 leds! Have bought a pair of ebay for £7.20 inc p&p with 35 leds and also bought a set of resitors so when they all arrive I'll have a go and see what happens. Steve, the set comes with 10 of each type of resistor so if I get them working I can do yours as well
  9. I found the accelerator pedal is a bit tricky as the TT pedals are curved differently. It's a only a bit of bending by hand but took me a few tries to get it right. Couldn't figure out which way round the brake / clutch pedal went but I've actually put mine on the other way, with the slightly lose one on the clutch, does it make a difference?
  10. Still haven't had a chance to fit my fks. Had a bit of a nightmare and had to send one of them back as the adjusting nut seized  Also didn't realise that they don't come with the bearings or nuts on the front so if you're gonna have a go fitting these yourself and don't want to strip down the old ones to nick parts then atleast buy the bearings and nuts (available from VW for a couple of quid each). I'm taking everyones advice though and have ordered a full set of top mounts from G-Werks. Will post again when i finally have these fitted
  11. I had a look at the bulb holder and there's loads of places to solder a resistor on so I'm gonna have a go at this at the weekend and try a few different ones. Anyone know of anywhere in Bristol I can buy resitors? Is there a maplins anywhere?
  12. Anyone know where I could get some solitude alloys? Or something similar.
  13. Cheers Steve, I'll give them a try at the weekend. The theory behind adding in a resistor is pretty simple, and you should be able to pick up resistors from Maplins or somewhere like that. Has anyone tried this?
  14. Had a drive in my Dad's RS6, that's insanely quick but you just don't feel it until you notice stuff going past really quick! Think my bro's T350 is quicker, but only if its a perfectly dry day or you just can't get the power down.
  15. I thought the chains didn't need replacing unless they start getting noisy?
  16. That's a p!ss take! Significant work = thermostat, a switch, a fog lamp, a badge and spark plugs :? Maybe if it was a Storm but even then I picked up mine for a little shy of 6k with 91k on the clock, FVWSH and in pretty good condition all round
  17. I've had a Magnex fitted for a couple of weeks now and really happy with it. Quality looked really good and fitted perfectly. There's not much difference in noise, just a little extra burble when sticking your foot down but quiet when cruising on the motorway. Spot on IMO!
  18. OK cheers guys. Venom are going to replace the broken unit and I'll get a new set of top mounts so I can fit new bearings too. Where's the best place to get them from?
  19. The top mounts I had expected to use, but I wasn't expecting to get the spring clamps on the old suspension to strip it down and get the bearings off. According to Venom tho, this is normal. Did you get the new bearings with the top mounts or did they come with the Weitecs?
  20. OK, now that I've had my moan, has anyone else found that they needed to rob bits from their original suspension to fit their coilovers?
  21. Had a go at fitting my FK Silverline X coilovers today and things did not go well! Starting off i couldn't undo the nut at the top of the front shocks, totally seized. Tried all sorts with no success so after 3 hours went to a garage and they popped them off in about 30 seconds using a pneumatic wrench. I would recommend anyone to do this before they start! Started again, fitted the first one in no problem, dropped the car and noticed the top mounts were about 6 inches higher thna they should have been. Was bloody glad the bonnet was still up! Basically the kit did not have everything you need, it was missing the bearing at the top which stops the piston from coming up into the engine bay. Luckily I had some spring clamps so took the ones of the original unit but obviously not happy having paid £600 for these that I was still having to use old parts! And the final straw came when adjusting the unit to get the ride height set and the threads f*cked up and the rings seized so couldn't move them up or down. Brand new, not even any grit or anything and they seized. So car is back to standard ride height and it's owner seriously p!ssed off!
  22. I ordered mine only a couple of weeks ago. He let me know stricght away that the rings weren't in stock and would take a week to come in and then they arrived about 3 days after that. Just PM or email him direct
  23. I've just had my Magnex fitted and they said they had to cut the old one to get it out. Top Gear in Basingstoke do custom exhausts for about £350 and is recommended for a near OEM look. Check out the following thread http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... asingstoke
  24. Apparently everywhere has run out of stock of these. Most places are taking orders for delivery in March
