oh also the car has to be 15yrs old or older, and is much cheaper if you also own another car :)
-
Our classic policies allow mods (apart from NOS!!! ) usually not much difference in premium but depends on the mods. Has to be less than 7500miles per year. Martin :)

no need for an investigation, unfortunatly it has been proven loads of times that young drivers have more crashes hence pay more insurance! It sucks but thats the way it goes unfortunatly...... :(
-

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
martinb replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Hi Dave, I need a driver side handle repair kit as mine broke last night! (lol only owned my Rado for a couple of months and seem to be getting all the common faults!) What is the total cost and how do i pay you? Many thanks Martin 8) -
Cheers Martin could you check out what the 8013 code means and why the insurance company wanted me to contact them because of it? Hmmm its not listed at all on our quote system?? :( Did someone mention you were living in northern ireland? Maybe it is something to do with that as our system wont quote for NI? Is that all it says, all the offences we list are two letters followed by two numbers eg SP30, CD10, TT99 etc etc I have seen cases where they have been written in the wrong place... Sorry not much help! :(

Always disclose everything to be on the safe side. I dont deal with i t personally but i frequently hear people from our customer services dept calling people back who have not disclosed information. All the info you give is entered onto the motor insurers database used by the police and other insurers. If people do not disclose (its not checked out by us the broker but by our underwriters) often the underwriters will find out and get back to us to notify us that you have not disclosed information on a recorded call, sometimes they want extra money, sometimes they void the insurance and often they will then refuse to reinsure you as you didnt tell them in the first place! :( What year is the car? We insure a lot of the older models on Classic Policies..... 8) Martin :)

Let me know if you need any specific offence codes checking and i will look on our system at work and find out what they mean for you. :) Different insurance companies ask for claims / conviction history going back different periods depending on the company, there is no rule, eg we are a broker, some of the companies we use ask for 5yrs, some only 3yrs, but we have to ask for 5years to get the info correct info required for all companies. Tbh to be on the safe side always disclose everything, you dont want to give an inserer a reason to void your policy and most of the companies we use that ask for 5years only count convictions (minor ones eg SP etc) within the last 3years anyway! nice one, cheers for the replies! hopefully one of them will sort it! :)

Oh god, good luck getting them out mate, theyre a pain in the ar~e. lol cheers. The sound i currently get from the dash ones aint too bad, its just one of them keeps coming on and off. I have checked the connections and they seem ok but if you move the wires behind the head unit one of them goes on and off. The wires where cable tied very tightly so dunno if this has caused a break inside the wire? :)
-
Cheers again David, you have been a great help! 8) Any recommendations for good quality/value dash speakers?
-
Shame the parcel shelf is cream really my interior is all black. Will have a think about the speakers and let you know tho mate (based on what i have been told just gotta decide whether its worth trying to wire up the door pods or not!) cheers Martin
-
Cheers David. It looks like it has speaker pods in the doors though so is it fairly easy/worth fitting them to the front doors? they are 4" in the dash then, that was my next question! 8) Is there any easy way at getting to the dash speakers? i cant see any way or prising the grill's off and dont wanna damage them! Appreciate your help and sorry about all the questions, it was all a load easier on my old mk2 gti! Cheers Martin
-
Cheers for the replies. Yeah i am just really looking to upgrade all the factory speakers without really cutting the car about to much. I think it has everthing standard from new including what looks to be an ancient Sony tape player. A one of the dash speakers does not work, the doors pods dont work (but i have not even looked to see if there are speakers in them!) and the remainder that do work sounds pants! :)

My leccy windows seem to be really really slow going up, is this a common fault and whats the best way to cure it? Cheers Martin
-
Just wondering if someone knows off the top of their head what size the standard rear speakers are? One of mine sounds knackered! Cheers

Summed it up perfectly, cheapest aint always the best! 8)
