 Yeah, bound to happen though really thinking about it. I am glad that people are willing to spend that much on their Rados. And aren't put off by the rubbish selling prices at the moment. If you love your car enough you can justify spending well over its worth in parts to keep it in working order. Its all part of owning a (semi) classic car. I love mine to bits (which it hopefully won't become) and can't see myself selling it unless I have 3 kids and ludicrous debt. Otherwise, I will keep it by hook or by crook. I suppose if we didn't have the passion we'd all be driving Honda Accords!

£1244 on a service just after i got it, replacing axle bushes, engine mounts and a few other bits and bobs. Parts came to 290, rest went on labour and vat! B@stard VW dealer prices. Never again. Love the car, hate the bills. :(

What you get if you cross a Golf with a Fraggle?

   wait till it rains in the winter and it'll be grey and matted.   -
Its become less of an entertaining car show and more 'this weeks challenge is....lets see how badly we can do it'. and i don't even know why they have the star in a car, its such a waste of time.

Yes, they are pretty cool. My uncle has two, one red, one a really nasty brown, so I'm quite partial to them, I looked at both TR5 and 6s, but they were a bit out of my league and not really practical for south london.

what are your perfect wheels for a 'Rado and why? Disc

Mine are. And to be honest I don't really notice them tramlining much more than my 15s on my last C. Bit more crashy though. -

I got some similar ones on mine too. -
Moonlight blue (i'm biased and no its not black!), blackberry and yellow. Yummy.

That's really great. I find it quite interesting the way they have tested everything from a Morris Marina up to an Aston Martin DBS V8! Certainly a wide range of cars to choose from. Incidentally, why didn't you go for the Triumph? (i considered one before buying the C)

fancy some commission work? :D that's way cool

108.7 at Fleet services on the M3. Over 20 quid for 18 litres! :(

Does anyone out there use 99 RON?

Have you cleaned the dizzy cap/spark plugs? After mine had sat for a while under the elements it had got some damp in it and wouldn't play ball. WD40 is good after you have cleaned them as it has water repelling stuff in it. (sorry for the duff explanation but it was a hard day at work!) Or maybe your cold start injector is not working (if the C has one of these?)

Its the American way, after all else fails, shoot it.

I was there too, it was a good laugh. My mate crapped himself during the 3-D bit when the first missile exploded, and those 'cars' they made themselves were priceless! Those Zondas were gorgeous, I've always had a soft spot for them and to see them for real, up close and personal was great. The Spyker in the background is a very ugly car, but has a wicked interior. I particularly liked the Aston section, one of which you have in the photos. Quite a few were sold by Sunday afternoon! There were a lot of fezzas and porkers there though.

I just took off the original one and left the base on there. It looks fine and still picks up a good signal.

Thanks to shaung60 for the badgeless grill. Top drawer. 8)

I think it will work. Singapore is a very affluent country for South East Asia and I'm sure they have the resources to make it work. I'm sure Nascar runs races at night with no problems. I'm probably going to go out there for it, I love Singapore as a city/country. Imagine London but with no litter (illegal) and no chewing gum on the pavement (also illegal), coupled in with amazing food, the technology and clothes shopping whilst still retaining some semblance of that far east feel. Not necessarily a place to party, but its there if you know where to look. Its awesome. 8) And its so close to Thailand I could get some decent beach time too.

Thanks to -Neil- for swift delivery.

As the guy who posted it is a member of the probe forum, you know he didn't want to be embarassed when the C came on the scene and whooped the probes ass!

Awesome in car - Ari Vatanen and bad intercom!
The_Dude replied to Riley's topic in General Car Chat
That was cool. Love the way he kept waving his hand and saying "I don't hear!" And that long last right is a gorgeous drift, he just throws straight into a massive powerslide. Props. 8) -
Is it a saloon or hatchback? O rhave they done the trad Porsche thing and stuck the and stuck the enigne in the back? If so, is there luggage space for four under the bonnet? And what will it do to the handling?

I would find out how much has been resprayed and why before you go look at it. I wouldn't necessarily look at ones close to you either, its worth travelling a distance to find a good car. Coulsdon, great. The town so interesting they built a bypass round it. :D I'm pretty sure there's a few more Croydonites on here too. I'd be happy to come see the one in Coulsdon one day but I'm not around next weekend so it;d have to be after work, and then we might have light issues? Drop me a PM and we can discuss a bit more if you want.

Hi Rich, with regards to service history, some peeps on here prefer specialist rather than VW, given that the C was quite a rare car and the dealers didn't get to see it that much. I suppose if its got part history, more recent would be more useful as the first few should have been regular services? Chains are for the VR not valvers, so its cambelt you've got to worry about. It should have been changed by 100k, though I'm not sure how may times. When I got my valver (at 105k), it had been changed at 86. Where about is this one 10 miles from you? I don't live that close, but I'm not that far either. (work in croydon)
