  1. Looks really good Nikki, I'm actually quite like the tucked look.
  2. Do it mate, I took mine round Snetterton just before Christmas and it really show's you how damn good the Corrado is as a drivers car. I loved it and will definitely be taking it on again. Action shot!!
  3. Right I'll give it another go. Leads were £68 delivered from vwspares, rang them and they turned up 8.30am the next day. Top service. Cheers for the info mate
  4. Yeah sorted the leads mate, cheers for the heads up on vwspares. Which side do I need to attach from, had a poke about but still seems fairly solid....
  5. So to add to my current corrado woes this afternoon I was driving along and the radio dies and plumes of smoke start filling the car from around the steering wheel cowling.... :( It was the igninition live shorting out at the ignition swtich end, completely melted and snapped. Basically anyone know how to remove the pins from the block connectors? Sorry about the dodgy arrow but hopefully you get what I mean Cheers guys/gals
  6. Loving those wheels Phil, and (IMO) one of only a few C's which I like the crystal rears on. Just seem to work really well on yours. Top stuff :salute:
  7. I've kind of given up trying to think why someone might do this kind of thing but I hope it wasn't malicious as I can't think what I've done (other than maybe parking outside their house?) to pi$$ someone off enough to do that. The parking on my roads and the roads around it are just a free for all, no designated bays or anything..... but having said that, the car that is now parked where I was the night of the damage hasn't moved for about 3 days so it would seem that they live there. TBH I can't prove anything and I'm not about to go around doing it to their car as I'm not really that kind of person. If I had proof I'd be happy to go around and see what they had to say about it face to face but I guess I'm just going to have to live with it this time. :( Real shame is that I was hoping to use it as one of my wedding cars in May, guess I'll have to see what can be done to get it looking ship shape again - Rob, this is your area of expertise.
  8. Cheers Kev, can't find any info about sizes on the web but I'll ask the seller to measure it. Out of interest do you know what size the BMC's are? ie: what you're using?
  9. Can anyone confirm whether the Carbonio induction kits will be ok to use on a FI'd car? Linky!
  10. Nice one mate. And the spelling is still better than some adult attempts I've seen!
  11. Cheers guys, I know a few have had these kinds of things happening more often recently. A sorry sign of the times I guess, but worse than that I only got about 5 mins of sympathy off the missus before it was back to normal and she had a go at me about the washing up! Well I had a chance to look at it in the daylight on my way into work this morning and it's good and bad news. Good news - none of scratches are through to the metal, Bad news - the ones on the rear quarter have actually chipped off a couple of chunks of lacquer :( I'm going to have a look at it over the weekend to see if I can at least tidy it up so it doesn't get worse and then I can sort it properly when I've got a bit of spare cash.
  12. That is awesome work Dave, I might have to have a more indepth chat with you about my short runner needs. Hats off to you (as usual) sir! :salute: As for fan sizes, I'm happy with a 6.5" setup as I'm unsure I'll have space for two large fans. Just let me know when you want the monies, are Ugandan dollars ok?
  13. Cheers guys, must admit I had about 45 mins of moaning to myself and thinking about leaving notes on my neighbours cars, who had parked so stupidly outside their and my house that I had to park further up the road than I usually would!, but I doubt that would make me very popular.... but other than that I've been in the house on my own as the strife is working late so I've had no one to really get angry with. I just don't understand it, it's my money (and other hard working tax payers) that means these idiots have the spare time to go out, have a can or ten of tennants super and then do this stuff to our pride and joys but if we took it to tackle them and call the fuzz I bet i'd be talking to you on my one hour a week internet time whilst serving 18 months for assult.... even typing this makes me feel sick at the state of this nation... :bad-words: Just looking forward to having a good look in the day light, hopefully it'll be better in the morning!
  14. It's necessary just to pi55 off 911 owners. PSML, exactly! Must admit I loved the trackday I did in my car in its current state but this is going to be my weekend toy, not a trackday car although I will no doubt use it on a couple of tracks if I get the chance. Don't know if you've seen my other thread about basic motorsport? Hoping to have a go at racing in the Golf GTi cup in (maybe) the 2010 season so that'll be my main track fun.
  15. So some dirty scumbag has decided that since they've only got a Corsa Merit with six exhausts and it's own ASBO that they would take out their inadequacies on my car by adding a few racing stripes....... fcuking no good, national resource draining c@%ts! Passenger side door (about 18" scar) Rear quarter (2 scars, about 10" each) Not a happy corrado owner today :(
  16. Hmmm, I see what you all mean. I have considered buying a trackcar, something small and nimble, but I can't use the C as a daily and don't really want to sell it. Basically I've got another engine sat at home that I'm hoping to turbo, aiming for about 350-400bhp, to replace my old unit. I wasn't really planning on much more than that and a gearbox rebuild with diff etc but people keep telling me (granted not people on here) it'll make the car a pig to drive. Now I've been out in Mr Wires VRT and I thought it was amazing, never felt anything other than perfectly composed and he's running ~400bhp through the front wheels. I see there are plenty of arguements for each drivetrain layout, and I guess a lot of it on a road car is personal preference. I think I need to stick to my original plan and see how I find it.
  17. Not really a track car as such, although I am hoping to do a few trackdays a year in it. You thinking 4WD is a bit of overkill? I'm just thinking that it's silly to do all the work on a powerful engine and not be able to use it effectively. But maybe I'm not thinking about it in the right way. Once rolling at say 30mph, if you bury the loud pedal is it going to matter whether it's RWD,FWD or 4WD? Unfortunately as I said in my original post I've not had the chance to drive a good powerful RWD car so not sure what comparisons I should be making.
  18. Yeah I think 4WD is the answer when it comes down to it. I'm never going to have the kind of spare money needed or mechanical skill to build a mid-engined car like SP have done, regardless of how awesome it is. But as I'm planning on somewhere around the cool 400bhp mark I'm going to need more traction than FWD is going to offer, even with R888's and a Diff. I'll be looking forward to hearing how the guys that are currently building haldex'd cars find them out on the road in comparasion to the original layout.
  19. Welcome back mate, it's like the script for a disney film based on the Corrado! I often wonder what has happened to a few of the cars I've had and wished I'd never sold. I must admit that even with all its issues I'd find it very hard to part with mine so I completely understand you buying it back. Wasn't it Mr Wire who said something like, 'Once you've had one, then sold it, you'll want another. So save yourself the bother and just keep it!' ?
  20. Spent 2 hours cleaning the ISV and MAF, and then fixing my PCV valve to try and sort my dodgy running issues just to find my HT leads are buggered...... ...... I'm sure I checked them recently :?
  21. Lovely work as usual Dave. I'll definitely be interested, especially when I get started on my conversion. :notworthy:
  22. Do it!!!! Er... not sure I've just got that kind of cash to hand mate  I wonder how that SP car actually drives and handles since the front of the car was never designed to not have an engine in there, and vice versa at the rear...... definitely an interesting build and I've got the PVW that car is in so I think I'll have a little read up on it later.
  23. So how much to do what SP have done on my car then Kev? £10-15K?
  24. Damn, so it really isn't rocket science........
  25. I just thought it was a clever chassis with a large firework strapped on the back?
