  1. Nice car mate, my brother-in-law has just picked up an Evo 7 FQ300 and it is sooooo fast even without fettling. Grip is amazing as well and I much prefer it from his old Impreza which was very all or nothing and the Evo seems a lot better behaved. Only problem with these and the scooby's for me is the styling/image......but there is no denying how capable the are. Well done sir! :salute:
  2. Exactly. Plus they are notoriously tricky to bleed you could end up using loads of fluid trying to get it right. I'm making these mistakes so you don't have to!
  3. Excellent news mate, like I said on the phone these things need a really good bleed afterwards as you're letting so much air into the system. I'm sure it'll be fine, just get a proper garage to do it as they'll have all the kit you need. I think VW dealers do a brake fluid change/bleed fairly cheap and they'll have the correct kit.
  4. http://www.motester.co.uk/mot-cog.html#testdetails Scroll down this page for MOT requirements. Or here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/Mot/DG_4022109 I would guess that if your car is of the correct age and had one fitted originally then you'd be required to have it in there.
  5. Quality, another E38 gem!

    My 993

100% agree, lovely motor and definitely the best of the 911's in my opinion. Can I be really cheeky and ask how much?
  7. Let me know how you get on mate. If you need it the goodridge part number for the 95 onwards Golf VR6 is SVW0604-6P.
  8. These look any good to ya chap? I haven't offered them up to the spare rear calipers I've got but yeah look like the right connections. Maybe someone can confirm??
  9. My understanding was that the standard rear calipers on the Corrado and the Golfs with the 288's were the same...... might have the wrong end of the old stick though. I'll dig them out and have a look at them and yes they are just the rear hard pipe to caliper ones.
  10. I've got some rear ones that i didn't use when I changed to 288's as I've got the mk4 rears. Don't have the axle one though I'm afraid.
  11. Will do matey, it'll probably be mid morning as we'll be travelling back from North Tidworth.
  12. Sunday, I'll be in Wiltshire. Might pop in if you're lucky!
  13. I'm sure James will correct me here but I think his Photobucket account got hacked so he's lost the images for the time being. You'll just have to stare at the remaining ones like me!
  14. Hi guys I'm sure if I trawl through this thread top to bottom I'd find everything but I'm going to ask anyway. Can someone do my a list of exactly what I need to fit the 4motion engine? Cheers. Mic
  15. 100% agree, those door pins are the most annoying noise on any car ever, Fact! Mines ok generally, just the usual squeaks and rattles
  16. Try living in Cambridge, almost everyone here is a foreign student or tourist. Neither of which seem to have any grasp of even the most basic road laws and just do what ever they like whether that is walking into the road or (and this one is always popular here) cycling across junctions even though it's on red! :cuckoo: Unfortunately it's such a common occurance that Mill Road in Cambridge is the 3rd highest accident black spot in the entire country....... and most of it is 20mph! Think it's had something like 80 accidents in the last 12 months yet people never get the message that there is a cycle path/walkway that runs parallel the entire length of Mill Road so you don't have to risk getting squashed. Anyway.... back on topic.... no idea whether the green cross code is taught anymore. But on rights of way, I believe the highway code states something like 'a pedestrian has right of way if crossing a road you are turning into if they have already stepped off the pavement before you arrive at the junction'. As for general rights of way I was always under the impression that in a lot of circumstances it was pedestrians over cyclists over motor vehicles...... but I might have just made that up....

    Help needed!

Well a little more info like - how long it's been sat/inside or outside/any kind of advisories from the last MOT etc could be helpful. But as a basic starting point you need 3 things to make a car run - Fuel, Air and a Spark. At the moment you're saying you're getting absolutely nothing when you turn the key? Assuming you mean really nothing (ie not turning over or even trying to) then I'd say electrical fault. I know it sounds silly but have you checked - Battery, Fuses, ignition switch, immobiliser? Afraid the only way with a lot of these things is being methodical and working your way through from basics upwards. Might want to say where you're based as might have someone near you who is happy to come have a look. Good luck.
  19. I'm always up for lending a hand mate, got to repay you for all those special 'cuddles' at some point..........
  20. Looking good chap, and just think that all these small issues have given you the chance to get to know some fellow Corrado owners. And you survived a weekend with Tom! Where abouts are you based? I assume near Kev. Him and Steve are definitely great people to know if you need a hand on your car that's for sure.
  21. Sounds like a rough day, If I was you I'd just go inside and watch a bit of Diagnosis Murder and chill. I've had a similar problem with my radio in the past, the previous owner must have been a complete numpty!
  22. Got a quick chat with Dave and Graham booked to go over a few things as I need some custom fabrication of inlet/exhaust manifolds etc but then I'm hoping to have it starting in July, with a finished time of about 2020!
  23. Can't wait to see this take shape, If you and Kev need a spare pair of hands mate just let me know.
  24. Best news I've heard all week, glad you're keeping it now mate. Looks very well in those meet pics, I think you've made the right decision. :salute:
