  3. Hi, What's the best balance between availability, performance and cost?
  4. What do people use and recommend to keep sunroof well lubed and in top condition? Aside from lube is there anything else recommended?
  5. Thanks Chris. Never thought of ARZ. Nice selection and they have a brand new RHD pod so easier to go for that one.
  6. Has anyone fitted the pod below from a LHD into a RHD? Was it easy enough or was the fitting just ok? ANy pointers appreciated....
  7. I'm running 8s all round Owen so 25 may not be enough on your front 7s. I can take a specific pic of front tomorrow and post it up if you want?
  8. Bump, anyone? same as one on left...
  9. No bother. If you want any more info on my set up let me know. Good choice on wheels by the way LOL
  10. Avon Zv 195x45 are the tyres. The lip of the rears are practically flush with the arch. My car is on a H&R Cup kit. Extra 10-15mm and he might be in bother ? Has he coilovers?
  11. Ben, I'm running D90s (8s) front and rear on 25mm H&R. I'll double check the tyres. See pics below from the link in my signature.
  12. I didn't get a chance to machine polish the car yet but it got a good clean and a couple of coats of Nattys wax on Saturday. Porsche D90s fitted also. Lots more to do and really looking forward to the next few weeks and the mechanicals :) Finally, first real pics I took of the car myself... ---------- Post added at 02:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:27 PM ----------
  13. Few updates. Finally getting moving now on actual work. All parts are now in so work starts in the next couple of weeks. I started some of the body trim jobs. First up roof rubbers/rails (before and after). Note: to remove rail you start at the back. I taped up th surrounding area and using a small plastic lever lift the cap gently. It is secured by a bolt like pin. Once lifted, gently lift the rail which is stuck down in the groove with a sticky tape. When you get near the front gently pull the front cap backwards off the pin that secures it. Give the groove a good clean before fitting new ones. Fitting is the reverse. Slide front cap into place, pull back tape cover, and gently push rail down into groove with palm of your hand. When you get towards the back align plastic cap with gripper and push into place. Pics should explain a lot of this. Before: Back Front After: ---------- Post added at 02:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:25 PM ---------- Front grille and badge replaced also. Before: After:

Welcome Kyle. You'll find quite a few familiar names and cars on here from Ireland :) Great forum for anything you want to know. Enjoy.
  18. Pics have been great. Is there anywhere we can download high res versions of them?
  19. Is it this item? http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,showdetail,4095,en,1298631181-4110,1107453340.1107453442,2160010,9,Tshowrub--1107453340.1107453442,.htm
  20. Yes, the standard in black can look great but I just think (proven by examples above) that Recaro just looks that bit better. One of my all time favourites from MJ Interiors belonging to someone I know who has a VR:
  21. IF you've never used a polisher before I would not start with a Makita. The makita while a great machine is unforgiving to a novice. If you use a Makita v a Kestrel, Meguiars G220, Porter Cable you will physically note the pad heat far more. I would suggest a Megs or Kestrel and buy a selection of pads and compounds. Any good supplier can advice. In advance of that, watch youtube videos to build you understanding and better still attend a course. 1/2 day to 1 day will help you get the right feel, get you exposed to a few different makes and models as well as compounds and pads enabling you to home in on what suits you best. Get an old door or panel to practice on and your there. Always be patient and you'll get the right finish no matter what paint type you are dealing with. No harm looking out for a paint depth gauge and be familiar with each panel before you start any car.
  22. Could he do full "pack" of stickers for Corrados? and other VWs?
  23. Get your own or borrow a set of wishbones from someone and get them sand blasted and powder coated. They should come up like new at a fraction of the price.
