  1. GSF also do reinforced ones. I'm not sure in what way they are reinforced but it would be a cheap option.
  2. Thanks for that, very useful :thumbleft:
  3. How much did they charge for this? I've been told it's stupid money but not actually found out for myself.
  4. flusted, BeavisJem was it difficult taking the rear quarters out? Sorry for the hijack
  5. On my mk2 I used C and R reinforced rubbers which have a chain inside them. I think they were around £7 so not as cheap as cable ties.

    2.0 16v tuning

The clubgti forum has some good info about tuning 16valves. A flowed head, kr or abf cams, 4 branch manifold, exhaust and a tune with WUR mod seem to be the most recommended for starters.
  7. I think there is a difference between mixing colours of light and colours of paint. This may explain why green bulbs work with painted lights but amber bulbs are needed when film is used for tinting as posted by Riley in the link that was posted by was8v.
  8. You may as well just spray the rest of the car with paint you've got left :D At least you see the funny side!
  9. There was a post from somebody who tried green bulbs and they didn't work. I'm sure its in the group buy thread for the film.
  10. I was the same, the old looked fine on the inside. GSF have free delivery too.
  11. I've had the red rears on for a while and I'm really happy with them. Just take your time when fiting and you'll need orange LED indicators
  12. I agree with what you say Chris, it is unfair that Scottish MPs can influence English and Welsh only policy. I personally think that the Labour(not Scottish MPs) have abused their position. If the didn't have such a large majority (or we used a different voting system) they would not be able to force through policy in this way. I think the media in England has attempted to fan the flames of the West Lothian question and the result has been an increase in anti Scottish feelings. Much in the same way as blame the immigrants etc. It's worth noting that despite the problem being over 30 years old, no party has a solution! The system is totally wrong and that is what is pissing everybody off. People are blaming Scots/all politicians/immigrants. Who decided that alcoholics should get more benefits if they have a pet? Why are they allowed to take up so much of NHS resources? Why are people giving up jobs because they can make more money on benefit? I know of somebody who has claimed incapacity benefit for the last 10 years. The want to change their claim because they will receive more benefit if they have a heart condition rather than a back problem. They work and despite being reported by neighbours for the last 10 years nothing has been done. They have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Barbados!
  13. Because the English voted in hundreds of Labour MPs who voted for him as their leader. The majority of Labour MPs at the time thought he was better than the other 350. Just imagine how bad it would be if one of those others were leader! I still don't see what being Scottish has to do with it. It's not as if he is imposing Scottish policies on the rest of Britain. In fact it is well known that Gordon Brown and the Scottish government don't get on and didn't even when Labour were in power in Scotland. I would imagine most politicians choose their career because they want to make positive difference to people lives and they believe that they run things better than at present. Why do they all lose track of their original values and beliefs and become so corrupt? I agree all governments in the world are corrupt but realistically what are the alternatives? Personally I think a different form of election. Part of the problem with the current governmnt is they have too big a majority.
  14. Insured the Corrado. Took it for a spin for the first time in over a month :D
  15. Not sure what Scottland has to do with it to be honest. Yes he is Scottish and his constituency is in Scotland. If every labour MP in Scotland was elected it still wouldn't be enough to put them in government unless the English, Welsh and NI voted for them too. Of course if the English labour MPs hadn't voted for him as leader then he wouldn't be in power either. Maybe we all like him so much since petrol is only 30p per litre up here but obviously that's our discounted rate since the oil comes from Scottish waters :D Gordon Brown couldn't govern Scotland since Labour aren't in power in the Scottish parliment! For what it's worth I don't think the tories would have managed things any better. Cameron doesn't know what to do and just jumps on any idea that may be popular that day. They would have mismanaged in the same way and all of corozins examples would still have taken place. I agree the its a case of choosing the least bad party with the current system. Maybe time for proportional representation rather than the current system?
  16. Oddly, it looked like the one on the corrado more than the one on the golf. It looks totally standard.
  17. Its a good straightforward upgrade. Not had any trouble with mine at all. Remember the you'll need the braided hoses, available from C and R.
  18. I fitted a non amped GSF aerial (£10) to my mk3 the other day and its a big improvement.

    1991 1.8 16v kr

Pull the end of the throttle cable with the big black part. When you release this, it will move back to the original position and part of the mechanism will hit a small switch. Sorry I don't have any better pics, but it's i that area.

    1991 1.8 16v kr

Its a switch at the end of the accelerator cable.
  21. I'm sure there are posts on ed38 and vortex about this guy taking money, not sending goods and now has disappeared.
  22. If you've decided on a valver I'd just go and find the best example you can for your money and not discount either if them. As the comments show there isn't much between it.
