Quick vid. Thats me standing at the back of the car to check my A/F's readings against their probe. Spot on.
-
Well I finally got the car on the RR today. Will post up the graphs tomorrow but Im happy as the cars fuelling well with no other real issues. Power was 363bhp with about 315lb-ft of torque. Thats on 1 bar boost. There was other cars running and the standard cars were all about as expected so I think its a true reading. TBH I thought it might be around 380-390 but its fast enough and seemingly reliable so I cant complain. Paddle clutches, FWD and snow dont really mix well though.

S3 build....from 6 to 4 cylinders-doh!

They are quite strange to start with in the snow. Wait till you get the winter tyres on, they are amazing. -
or mine for less than half again. Its all about what people want. Some want a brand new car with full warrenty that is fast, safe, practical, 4wd, nice noise and fairly subtle. Im almost certain they will sell out. Audi just seem to make cars people will buy.

If it helps them sell cars then they'll do it. They are in it to make money after all. If it meant annoying a some purists to make millions more every year then there is not really much to think about. I like the mechanicals but Ive never liked the A3 sportback or DSG so I know I wont have to think about it.

Light wheels these. Are they Pro Race 1 or 1.2's? The 1.2's have the writing round the rim. Should be ok. I had some that were ET38 but run with 10mm spacer on the front with no problems.
-
 Im insulted by that :mad2: Its more like 3/4's!!
-
They'll still be loads better than the best summer tyre mate..... all winters are just soft and have loads of sipes to increase traction at the end of the day 8) Im hoping so as thats what im waiting to get fitted. Needed them today.
-
Will this end up with a bog standard VR in a couple of months time  .
-
I would only buy it for the engine.
-
I struggled to get them sold at that price and they were essentially brand new. All he has done is a colour change which would be a couple of hundred tops to get the centres painted. Just didnt want anyone on here paying over inflated prices.
-
About 25-27mpg in town, 35mpg on motorway @ 80mph. Not bad but noticable difference from my old Tdi.
-
Only done a couple of hundred miles in it but its great. Ride and handling is spot on as standard if Im honest. A slight drop is all thats needed. Brakes feel great, it could do with a tad more power though. It is a bit thirstier than I thought it would be mind you. Ed30 is the one to go for with the better engine spec. Missing my armrest so make sure you get that, uprated head unit would be nice as well but its only £500 to retrofit the latest touch screen sat nav unit.

http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... pic=342813 My old wheels. Rebuilt by James just before I bought them with the car and then sold for £650. A change of colour and there suddenly twice the price. Feckin cheek.

The car is brilliant and with a GT28 kit there supposed to be very tatsy. I was actually looking at wheels before Id bought the car  . I was looking at something OE looking but dont want to go down the usual LM, CH replica route. Dont want the 18in diamond cut ones either as they suffer from lacquer problems. Something plain and easy to clean like the A8 5 spoke's would be ideal but the only place there for sale is the like of ED38 so they have the usual inflated price. Tempted to to get some Team Dynamnics or the VW Racing ones (which are Team Dynamics by the looks of them anyway). Also quite like the VWR front spoiler but its about £250!!! A slight drop is probably first after spunking £500 on winter tyres :pale: . http://www.volkswagenracing.co.uk/Golf% ... Tyres.html Oh yah Im getting the Corrado on the RR on Sat so I'll finally find out what the old things running like.

Did he say what the upgrades are?

Its a one off so will always be like this. Good to hear its still going strong. If I was to sell the VRT for another car this would be one I would consider. -
New car. Sold the Mk4 and Mk2 last week and picked this up on Friday. More door basic Gti. Had to be blue as there so many of the other colours going about and I prefer the 5dr look on this. Going to change very little as its such a competent car as standard.
-
Just ordered mine. Wont get them for a week. Just over £500 for the 4 and thats Nankangs as there was next to nothing left. Note thats for 225/45/17.
-
Cool garage. Those seats must weigh a ton.
-
Thats what I see.
-
Well done.
-
Im getting some priced up at the moment for the new car. 225/45/17's so they aint going to be cheap. For size Id just stick to the normal size, narrow probably does help but I dont see it making a huge difference so long as the tread and compound as good. Most of the decent brands have sold out in the popular sizes now so you are having to look at obscure brands. I think I'll be getting some Hankooks.

Where can you buy the sump oil line adaptor for the return line? Current one has a fitting welded on that the return line makes up to, Ive got a baffled sump to fit. Either that or is there anywhere to buy baffles for my current sump.
-
I did buy it to use it not polish it :D Aye in a straight line there wasnt a huge amount in it as I pulled in behind him but after seeing what it did on the photo below Im glad I soon dropped back. The guys well known round Knockhill, he a has a few tasty Evo's. I wasnt under any illusion that car would be the suited to the conditions but I was a bit surprised by how bad the pads faired. I cant wait till the next one TBH.
