  1. I dont like it, dont know why. Its like it trying too hard. Theres quite a few going about up here but Im not taken by it for some reason but then Ive never been a Ford man. No denying its ability.
  2. :confused4:, anyway. How did you get on with the grill/mesh painted numberplate with the Police? Im surprised at how genuine it looked.
  3. What sort of power is it pushing out? Funky tacho/speedo, whats that reason for that?
  4. Silver, silver, silver, silver.................
  5. Looks first class. Something right about a stuffed full engine bay.
  6. Believe it or not I think that belongs to a guy at works dad. Well known buisnessman up here. Wouldnt be surprised as he has a lot of tasty cars including an FXX. Either way it happened way back in Sept so god knows why its just come out.
  7. for sure gonna have a long think about the next project I might have the perfect option....
  8. Bad news. At the end of the day its a car so it can be replaced. Look at it as an oppourtunity to try something new.
  9. Might be for sale soon, but only to get another one :norty:
  10. If I could get a decent price for mine Id be down there straight away, not sure that would be easy at the moment :( . Im just imagining the Compo's on it right now and pressing the loud pedal
  11. Im seriously thinking about selling mine for this now to stop me buying another road bike, I reckon this should fill the gap :norty:
  12. Wait and see who much the new S3 will be!! The one thing going for the R is the lack of numbers, they should retain the value very well so its a big investment but to me you will loose less than other comparible cars like the S3. The S3's are ten a penny up here at the moment so Id rather have a bit of exclusivity. If I had that sort of money Id seriously consider one.
  13. You have to take everything into account though. I started to look at Mk5 Tdi's and to get a decent one your looking at £9 - 10k. For me that would be about a £6k difference. At the moment I worked out for 10k miles a diesel is around £800 a year cheaper on fuel. Thats with 26mpg against 45mpg. Slightly cheaper insurance and tax will mean it would take about 7 years to break even. Then theres depreciation etc to take into account so unless your doing mega miles and keeping the car for a good few years its sometimes not cheaper getting a diesel.
  14. Im afriad to say that I cannot see it going down much if at all. Its only going to get more expensive. The oil companies make big profits but thats only because they are so huge. The return on a barrel is not as much as you would think, its the tax thats killing us. Im pretty sure they tax the companies on how much oil they produce so they are double or even triple taxing the oil that coming out the ground by the time we plonk it in our cars. Im almost considering going back to a diseasel for the everyday car as its starting to be a more viable option for me.
  15. I say go for it. Your obviosuly one of these guys thats just needs somehting to muck about with and with everything pretty much done on this you need a new project. I would seriously consider selling mine to buy this but then Id just be in the same position. as for the S3's I had one a coulpe of years ago that had a good few chassis mods, properly set up geometry, R32 brakes and remap etc and it was a very quick point to point car and felt very solid at that.
  16. I quite like the viper green  Yeah ED30 it will be once Ive got the 4mo ready for sale.
  17. VR is a tough as boots engine, this will not worry it all. You obviously have to make sure its running right and use the right oil etc but no more than any other car I would imagine. Many VR turbos out there with no issues. Local guy has one that near 500bhp IIRC.
  18. I have a Passat moonroof and it doesnt fit perfectly, slight bit if wind noise at speed.
  19. Interesting. Quick search has found these two fairly close 8) The Corrado might be coming of the road for a while. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  20. Heres the difference, Larger Turbo from S3 (K04) rather then the K03 on the GTI * 87°C thermostat instead of 80°C * Larger capacity fuel injectors (13% higher flow) * Larger intercooler (smaller then the S3) * Engine block main bearing caps, pedestals are reinforced * Conrods have larger rod bolts and new bearings * Pistons have 21mm gudgeon pins instead of 19mm * Piston top ring is improved * Recirculation Valve (blow off valve) not located on turbo Also believe the head is different. ED30 would seem the best overall option but I dont like the look of them, the fully colour coding is not to my taste with the colour options available. Maybe all black or the grey but not white or red.
  21. At the moment their leading as remap and its 300bhp however I really want a blue Mk5. Im not bothered if there are loads on the go, Ive still got the Corrado. Rocco is nice but is it worth paying say £5-7k extra purely for looks? Cannot tow with a Rocco either.
  22. Ive been contemplating this since the start of the year and Im just wondering if the Scirocco is worth the extra money over a Mk5 Gti. Has anyone driven both that can commet? I like the practicality of the Mk5 (will be 5dr) and it suits my other hobbies however I cannot get the Scirocco out of my thoughts at the moment. They seem to be keeping their value really well just now as well so the extra money might pay off in the long run. Looking around a decent Mk5's can be had for £12k and cheapest Rocco is still around £19k with Ed30's somewhere in the middle. I have been contemplating other cars such as BM's but I love hot hatches too mutch. Saying that I do like my 4mo as well...
