For the price that Recaro's cost they are not worth it. I had heated black leather Recaro's in the car and the standard cloth seats I replaced them with are just as good.

Stop it!!!!! Im a small bumper big window man myself. Oh hell it looks like the Corrado's paint is staying a bit shabby for while longer!!!

Oak green, too common  Diamond silver all they way. Found this last night - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1434107.htm Ok its an 8v but Ive had one and it was great fun. If its silver then there might be a purchase at the weekend. Heres me trying to save for a respray on the Corrado as well

This thread has got me thinking now. Seen a few cheap small bumper Mk2 Golf around and tempted to buy one as I reckon they will soon become in demand as well. If I keep it original I cannot see me loosing money on it. Only choice is 16v or 8v really.

Agree, it looks ok but a bit too bland. Competing against the likes of the BM 3 series coupe, its going to have to be good.

How much are you likely to get for it now? If its bugger all then whats the point in selling? Yes there are more things to life than cars but you also need your little slices of fun as well. Lifes too short
-
They better bloody go up as I bought mine just before the "crash" Not that Im looking to sell it mind you but I am debating whether to go all out and make it a track day machine or get it looks spick and span again.

Looks superb 8) have you tinted the headlights? Tinted headlight covers, will be doing the other lights as well with laminx and maybe even the numberplate.

Very nice. I would take the Wolfsberg badge of the back though, they werent made there. Id also put a badged grill on the front as well. Let everyone know its a VW!!!! -
Looks good, was thinking of doing the same to my indi's & fogs to match the headlight cover.

Im using Pagid FR at the moment and do like them. Used them before on the track as well on the Mk3 VR and they were fine. Not sure Im going on the track now as Ive got a few things on in Feb and once the bike racing starts the car takes a back seat. Probably be snowing anyway
-
Dont you just love the number of old VW's that are still pounding around the tracks in Europe. Do Vaux or Ford have the same thing?
-
Doesnt look like yellow EBC are available for the 288's. Are the reds any good as there seems to be some people with issue of them breaking up?
-
The last thing you want to do is scrimp on an engine conversion. Its false economy. As said above the common ones are 1.8T into 16v/G60 or 24V V6 into VR6. Im assuming thats a typo in your post for 24V V8. The search function really is the best thing to use as this has come up many times before.

Took this today, car was out as the Golf was getting a new exhaust fitted. Decided to take it for a run. Bloody hell Id forgotten how fast it is.
-
Just get some light smoked lamix film for them.
-
What you have to look at is how much money you will save by running another type of car? Do you do a huge amount of mileage, I suspect not because you wouldnt be running a Corrado. Unless you feel it as a massive financial drain at the moment I dont see a reason for selling.
-
Might be doing a trackday at the start of Feb which has given me the impotence to get my brakes fitted. Was looking at pads and some seem to like EBC red stuff whilst others say Ferodo DS2500. Where is the best place to order these from? Im leaning toward the Ferodo's at the momet.

I do like this car. Function over form, as it should be. Some hairy moments there as well. How do you find the dished wheel compared to the flat one?
-
Slightly softer compound and the tyres have loads if little slits in the tread block. Its the slits that seem to make the big difference. The way I look at it is its a couple of hundred pounds against smashing your car. Thats probably less than most peoples excess.

My car is dirty on both those photos.

Yeah that comes into play but I know people who have quattro etc and are still struggling on some of the roads. I can pretty much drive as normal in these conditions. There is a massive market for them. I know someone in Norway who has 18in alloys on there A5 in winter to replace the 19in standard wheels. Obviously the thinner tyres seem to help but its more to do with the design. If you get a set they should last at least 3 winters, you sane wear on your "summer" tyres and possibly damage to your alloys if you get a 2nd set of wheels.
-
Mmmm, pretty sure mine was Tornado. I always though flash was a bit more orange than Tornado. Red is the best colour for polishing.
-
Thing is they work in all winter weathers, basically as soon as its gets below 7deg they come into there own. If you get a set they should last you a good few years.

Ive been using winter tyres on my 4motion since mid December and I simply cannot believe the difference they make. I am on a mission to educate everyone I see now as I really think that most of the issues on the roads over the last couple of weeks would not be an issue if we had these fitted. As a good example of what they are like check out this vid. Theres also another one somewhere thats shows its pointless just putting two on the front wheels. Winter tyres to recommend are Avon IceTouring ST's in 205/55/16 for the Mk4 Link to winter tyre review: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/re ... -tyres.htm
