The issue always seems to be with the brace bar on the caliper carrier, not the carrier itself. The 288mm brakes are ok as they dont have this bar. Id be more worried about 9in ET30 and clearing the coilovers. Im sure its ok but it will be tight I reckon.

I'll maybe put that on hold for then.

DONT got to storm etc etc and buy the kit mate, theres a place called TTS near silverstone which will supply you the charger/cooler etc etc at a very good price, theres also a near new c30-94 on e-bay at the moment :) as for the mounting bracket, there was a place in holland called R-TECH?? who sold the brackets for the 24v engines, but i dont think there still around?? you could always get a knackered 24v engine and fabricate your own brackets and then make some more and sell them on?? oh yeh on the 24v engines you dont need to grind off any part of the engine. karl Thanks, TTS are well known for s/cing bike engines and have been for a few years.

Would like a set of these however I could not live with the cleaning required.
-
2nd hands your best bet. Try the stealer but make sure your sitting down before you call. Im pretty sure a brand new door is something stupid like £1200 from the dealer these days to give you an idea.

What do you want to know mate? Is this going on a 24V? Just looking at you sig. Yeah just looking at it for the Corrado. If I get my road bike sold I might use some of the money towards this. From the research Ive done it would appear you use the belt tensioner already on the engine with the requirement to grind away some of the head. It would be nice to know what is required as a minumum to get this fitted although Im sure there will be difference between mine and the 12v. Ive seen a guy on UK-mkivs with one fitted running lower CR and forged internals with 400+bhp on his 4motion. That would be nice but Im not quite at that stage.....yet.

Ah, ok. Yeah I have problems with the inlet tube when trying to fit the OE airbox. Determined to get it done though as I prefer the stock look as well.
-
Ok Im going to be a lazy fooker and ask if anyone has good experience with Rotrex chargers other than B5VWC. Contemplating one for my car but cannot find too much info on uk-mkivs and just scanned vwvortex however they seem more into the VF's. Im not looking at any internal work, would just to get around 300bhp mark with torque to boot.

Sheeet, not the best place to have an accident either. Where were you?
-
What airbox is that your running and did you have any issues with it hitting the suspension turret?
-
Good work, I'll be watching this closely.
-
Would be a shame to scrap it, make him an offer TooHot as it sounds like the majority of the work has been done. Good colour as well. Any low price Corrado is going to need some bodywork.

So many supercars around that there will alsways be comparison drawn. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8245070.stm

Problem is it is more often than not everything apart from the motor in the cars that is the least relaible part.

Ok I feel I have the history to comment on this as Ive had all the Corrado itterations to date. The 8v was ok, not quick, yet as they were run out models they are all a lot newer. MPG was ok but I couldnt hack paying high insurane for a car that was not really that quick. I even had mine remapped and it still didnt make it exciting. The other are as described, 16v wont get you much more mpg than the VR and you do have to ring thier neck to get decent performance. The 2l felt like it had more midrange than the 1.8l. MPG would only really come into it if your doing 10k+miles a year for me. I cant tell you what to buy, best thing is to try them all if you can however I would only buy an 8v if it was uber mint which I think is pretty much impossible to find now unless they have had some paint. The newest of them is getting on for 14yrs old now remember.

Again I had this when I got my car back. Sounded great to start with but on the motorway it was too loud. The induction note seems to be loudest bewteen 2-3000rpm. I removed the cone and fitted a BMC dia and it quietened down a bit. I then refitted the CAT and that has made a fair difference, the noise is more sublte and its much more acceptable. If you can live with it Id fit the cats on. -
Tell me about it I was contemplating selling mine but seeing what Zipperapple is struggling to get for his its not worth it.
-
Agree, black is not good. Maybe a light grey colour but not as dark as anthracite.
-
Yep that makes sense, mine was like that before I put the CAT back on. Did my head in on the motorway.
-
Very deep sounding, mine is a bit more high pitched than that. Almost makes me want to put a cone filter back on. Looking good, first drive is awesome.

Graphs.
-
Vorwend I cant see your graphs for some reason but I do feel a bit better as it mine do show the difference between the 24v and the 12v. My peak torque is 190lbft at 3700rpm with a fair bit leading up to this. Still think there something wrong with mine in that the remap seems to have done nothing, is it possble for the remap to bypassed or wiped form the ECU?
-
Funnily thats about the same as Stans car ATW but his was showing a about a 60bhp loss where as mine is 40bhp. I relise the cat would make a difference but as I said the torque figure is less that stock figures of 199lbft.
-
Im trying to post mine up but done have a scanner and at my mothers so trying to figure out her camera. What were your power and torque figures including RPM and ATW figure?
