  1. No way, a local car and you paid that!!!! To be fair there are a quite a few of them going about Aberdeen. First mod should definitely be the suspension as its the only thing that really lets them down
  2. Double check the seat on them is the VW radius. Most aftermarket wheels are straight taper however BBS do seem to be radius seat. Thread length for standard is ~28mm IIRC.
  3. No just the one. The other photo is to show what the 4mo alloys are like with the correct tyres. Looks better than i thought and very subtle.
  4. I ran the Speedlines for a week and much preferred the drive with them on, the car just feels so mucn better. The change of suspension will probably help but they are also a bit bling for me. Caliper clearance seem pretty good.
  5. Few more photos but Im getting rid of the BBS. Going to run the Speedlines for now and after reading some of th threads on here I though i would join in and have been amassing some new parts. Got a full 288mm front brakes set up along with brand new rear disks, pads and bearings to fit. The current suspension is annoying me so Ive bought some Koni t/a and will be getting some H&R springs soon. Will fit new tops mounts all round when doing this. im assuming i fit the early VR top plates with the springs so i can use the two piece top front mounts. Ive also got an R32 sump, pump etc on the way as well The car then should be mechanically spot on with new engine, clutch, suspension and full brake system. Shoudlnt need anything for a while. I am toying with the idea of fitting some 16in 4motion wheels to keep the 4motion OE+ theme.
  6. TBH the 4motion is not really going to depreciate that much. Ive owned one and it was the best all roand car Ive had in terms of having a bit of fun and day to day use. It being a 5dr helps a lot. I was tempted to punt my Tdi for it as you are getting a hell of a lot of car for the money. Saying that ive always loved the Alfa's but for an everyday car you wont beat the Golf. Just sort out the handling and your done.
  7. Id rather have the keep fit windows and no sunroof. Less to go wrong, lighter car and a stiffer body. All win win in my eyes.
  8. Im not sure on mine TBH, the dark colour doesnt really work on the speelines I think and Im going back to silver.
  9. Nice, there not 18in are they? What you doing with the 4motion wheels?
  10. TBH the GT2 bit was the funniest i thought but I wished he had given it more of a test. Saying that the Lambo now makes the best noise from a car that ive ever heard.
  11. I dont normally watch the yawn fest but it was ok yesterday. Suprised at the amount of Ferrari haters going about, are they really that bad?
  12. There more cocks driving Audis now than Beemers from my experience.
  13. Lucky lucky boy.............. he getting to bang that pussy cat doll!!! Massa was gracious in defeat.
  14. Im slowly beginning to hate him and Russ!!! Two rich boys out on thier jollies!!! Strange as this thread has the Dakar photo above, Charlie tried the Dakar and Im going out there in Oct next year to try these dunes  Back on topic, its so scripted but funny all the same. Richard is a tw*t though.
  15. The mk2 kind of reminded me of the shape hence why my first car was a 5dr Mk2. I will own one, they are just so iconic for me. I think your right in that they wont be as amazing as I think but I will find out. Oh dear.....http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/602347.htm
  16. Nice one, thanks. Got the full rear set up to replace but thats not happening till the new year.
  17. Always loved these things since I was young lad but have never been in one and never spoken to anyone that has driven one. Anyone on here driven one and are they as good as Im led to believe?
  18. Mmmm, just as I though it seems to sit round where the bearing sits. Hopefully there a bit of clearance for the bolts. Thanks.
  19. Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the rear set up on a VR specifically showing the position of the rear ABS ring. Its been a long time since Ive looked at rear brakes. I have 15mm spacers on the rear that Im taking off and replacing with 5mm but have to use the 15mm longer bolts. I dont want to put them on and damage the ABS rings ya see.
  20. Holy thread revival!!! On the comment above. I had a G60 a number of years ago with near on 100kmiles on original SC. Sold it to my brother who treated is harshly and it was still going when he sold it 10kmiles later. Hadnt seen the car for about 3yrs then spotted just round from my work last month.
  21. Good find, I agree with you on the wheels. They look cheap and nasty.
