  1.  in the current climate the guys having a laugh. I could never own a set of these as theres no way I would keep them clean, there too fussy.
  2. Plan ahead and use your momentum i.e. try not to stop once rolling. Go slow and use the torque of the engine as you have been doing and get some thinner snow tyres, they make a big difference.
  3. Opinions? I like the grey but I think the black looks meaner and keeps a black/green combo going.
  4. Ive got some old FK coilovers (yellow struts with yellow springs) that im replacing with Koni TA's and H&R springs. Ive got new bolts, spring plates, top mounts, bump stops etc however having never fitted the coilovers I am wondering if there will be components missing that will not allow me to fit the Koni's. Is there anything from the the diagrams below that could potentially be missing i.e. front item 7 and rear items 8, 15, 17?

    .

Mmm you love your LED's. Good work so far. Please take the tyre paint off, it looks stupid and cheap.
  6. Quality job but my idea of wheel hell. Bare polished metal!!!!!
  7. Sounds like you have a bit of work to do, used to have a white G60 myself. Was a nightmare to keep clean.
  8. Heres what they should look like and what you dont want them to look like. Does sound like your running lean but I doubt the BMC would do that.
  9. Right Ive pretty much made my mind up that it will be either all satin black or all grey. Could someone please do a quick photoshop

    tyre size

205's fit ok as well. The 225/45's are for TT or Mk4 Golfs.
  11. Get some photos up as if I dont sell mine Im thinking of going for the same colour on the BBS.
  12. I agree with what your saying and I agree but a change from the norm would be good. I am more thinking the whole dark wheel colour now with smoked lights front and back with smoked numberplates to have a dark "theme".
  13. Hi, there 17in BBS RKII 2 piece split rims. Reasonably rare and new would be close to £1k I believe. There the perfect size etc for looks but the car seems to handle better with the 15in wheels. Two really need the inners refurbed and there easy to split so I just thought it would be good to get them done. There a bit too bling for me at the moment, and Ive always liked the Dahlback Golf with these on albeit in one piece. What ever happened to thier Polo?
  14. Sorry I could never have gold on my car, it works on others but I just couldnt have it on mine.
  15. Ok, good response so far  . Was contemplating the whole wheel in an anthracite colour now with black bolts. Could someone give that a quick shop please.
  16. Need some BBS if you ask me...... The colour does look better in the daylight.
  17. I have to admit I find the same sometimes plus I do get a bit of heatsoak issues with the exposed filter hence why I was thinking of fitting the standard airbox. Are you running the standard CAT or cat bypass?
  18. and its still the same. Everytime I get in it I think the same. As for the noise, its isnt the same as the VR but i think its better. Ive given one person a shot of mine who is a bit of a VR nut (has a VRT 6spd Rallye built about 10yrs ago) and he loved the noise. Ive done about 2kmiles in mine now and the only minor gripe is that the filter does suffer a little heat soak plus the sump is a tad exposed but thats down to my low front suspension really. Oh and since this is in Ive though it would be a shame not to upgrade the brakes front and rear and get all new suspension so it does lead to extra spending.
  19. They rust like a mofo. Ive had 3 Mk3's and theve been ok realiability wise but Ive never really liked them. Totally agree and save a little bit more money and get a Mk4 instead. Far better and nicer everyday car. 2l version is not quick but will do 40+mpg. Early Tdi's like mine are pretty much spot on for an everyday car.

    Wobble bolts

Anybody ever used these? In principle they would seem to work but Ive never seen anyone use them.
  21. Like that. So much so if I can get my BBS sold Im going to get some solitudes to go with my Speedlines.
  22. Im struggling to sell my BBS and if they dont go I wont be running them through the winter so I thought of maybe changing centre colour. Right now I do like the silver but Ive always like a light grey with silver lip. What other colours do you reckon? I even thought about white to be a little different but dont want it to look chavvy. How about matt centres as well in place of gloss? Photoshop away...
  23. Cool, I quite like these things. Owned one for about a month but it was funny to drive as it felt massive. I fitted some silly wheels before selling mine.
