Is that for the lot?

I can safely say my 1series is better in the snow than My Mk5 Gti was. Both with winter tyres. The peaky torque in the Mk5 didnt help it all but the 6cyl in the 1series is perfect. Normal tyres, agree, winters fitted RWD is fine and more fun to be honest. Ive been avoiding the main roads all week in mine.

Depends where you live in the UK :)

Tbh I wouldnt worry about the width and getting the narrowest tyre. I ran 225's last year and they were fine.

Get the top tensioner inspected first before going whole hog. If its not that bad and your not going to do a lot of miles in the car then its not urgent IMO. You may get lucky like I did, 135k miles with very little wear. As said the VR aint a quiet engine so may sound worse than you think it is.

Thats not what its for. Better acceleration is the gain. Essentially 6 gears in the "space" where we have 5. Wish Id never sold that box on, cant be many kits knocking about (assuming its the gemini one).

A20 LEE still has his I believe. He has a B5 RS4 as well as he on an Audi forum Im on.

thinking of P/X ing my Storm for an E46 M3 - will I regret it?
coullstar replied to jpowell79's topic in General Car Chat
I say go for it. Always good to change, there will be other Corrado's if you want to come back. If its a standard M3 as well then thats sounds good, it hasnt been chavved as many have. -
Dont bother, they are more hassle then they are worth if the key goes missing. Ive not used locking bolts for about 8-9 years now and when was the last time you heard of someone getting there wheels stolen? In fact I dont think Ive ever heard of it.
-
I dont think they would work that well, those bike ones are there just to keep dirt out od the piston seals are they are quite exposed on bikes. You would need a good seal at either end and with the material as well. A proper water tight barrier is what is required.

I bought a fairly heavy duty cover for mine and it work well but if the wind gets up it does try and escape. I like the look of the Sealy one. Dehumidifier is a must, I remember storing my brothers Mk2 years ago and it was mouldy as a bugger after a while and the smell would not go away.

Same size. All 15in VR6 original wheels be it Golf or Corrado are the same size.

Probably best online, ebay to be honest or try aberdeen gumtree as there is lots coming up for sale at the moment. I might have a set of 17in wheels (BMW OE black steels) for sale in the next week.

Well Im going for denso on lower threads and chain wax on upper section. I know what you mean about buying ones that dont corroade but this is for the audi so we are speaking £1k+, if protected these will be just fine.

Bollocks, I was on a iced up back road this morning that most others avioded. I made it to work and had some fun. Broken record but fit winter tyres and you will be fine. ---------- Post added at 9:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:03 AM ---------- The only thing you may fins helps is putting some weight over the rear wheels. Normal tyres, yes your goosed.

I was just wondering what techniques people use to protect their coilovers from dirt and corrosion. Ive used motorcycle chain wax spray in the past and it seems to work but Im interested in other techniques. More the corrosion prevention than dirt to be honest. Some sort of spray coating? CV grease and tape maybe? We have this product in work called Denso tape that would be good for lower portion but hard to apply to that contained with the spring. I dont care about asthetics.

There fine, a wee bit noiser but it aint like an old Landy with BF's. Ive had mine on for the last month, Ive got the Continental ones though on the beemer, cannot remember what make. Pretty good though as I came into works car park this mornng and parked up them almost fell on my arse when I got out the car. One thing you will find is they tyres feel like they move about a bit more which will be exaggerated by your drop to 16in. Did you check they will fit over your brake by the way? I actually look forward to the snow even more now.
