Oh, and close to me. I wonder....
-
That looks ace, reminds of my first GTi as it was basically the same but in Diamond silver. Cheap as hell to run and fix which is a bonus.

Been neglecting the Corrado a bit and didnt realise the MOT ran out over a month ago so going to set aside some time tomorrow to do: 1. Oil + all filter change. 2. Fit baffled sump (only had it for two years). 3. Fit uprated mounts (finally) 4. Change out thermostat as its knackered. I'll also get the short shifter and 288 brakes on soon as well once MOT's done and see about fitting the Techtonics exhast. Reason being is that Im wanting to do some trackdays this year so getting the car prepped for that. I might also get one of my two spare steerign wheels redone in alcantara and see about a Mocal oil cooler. I also picked up a set of tatty RC's from a certain member which need some TLC but doing it myself as they dont need to be perfect. I will probably run without the centre caps as they are needing new badges and Im not paying £100+ for replacements unless someone knows an alternative that would fit? Should be able to stick some VW centre caps into the bare centres to look half decent. Tyres are getting ditched as they are all budget. Colour Im still not sure on. As its going to be a mainly track car I fancied maybe white or just plain silver. No black or dark colours. Heres what it should look like with silver on silver. -

Done. -
BILLCOR, thanks for meeting up tonight.
-
Okay was chatting to BillCor tonight and mentioned that it would be good to have a meet for all Scottish owners. Its been discussed before and Knockhill seemed a good choice and I remembered there is a VW trackday on during the summer organised by someone on Clubgti forum. So Im just putting this up to see what interest there would be. I will most likely be taking the Corrado on the track that day but who would be interested in meeting up. There is a cafe etc there and hopefully some tasty VW's on track. http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?260375-Knockhill-OpenPitlane-10am-5pm-Saturday-20th-July-£165-50-Car-limit

Good luck, I detest running so I can only imagine the dedication required. I'll stick to pedal power!!!!

VW Corrado takes on the new RS6 - Autobahn :)

I really need to stop reading these posts, saying that the old Audi bus did keep up with new GSXR600 at the weekend much to the riders dismay. -

Sad to hear, condolences go to his family. -
TBH thats one of the reasons I think I sold mine on. Awesome fun and really felt you were wrestling with the car but at the end of the day the car was not designed to go those sort of speeds. Thats why I went for something that was. I do think the Racelogic will help a lot though.
-
It says on them, 57.1 to 57.1mm.
-
Thats not bad, half decent range then.
-
You sir have a healthy VR.
-
Interesting comparison Kev, still think the VRT "once going" would just keep pulling away. I know point to point my VRT is the fastest thing Ive had including the RS4. Id be interested to see a torque graph from both cars as Im still thinking about doing something with mine and the two clear choices are turbo or R32. Day to day I know R32 will win but this wont be an everyday car.
-
That the point of fitting a turbo to a VR though, even on very low boost you are still 300bhp+. Thats like saying my RS4 would not run rings round a V6 A4 if it didnt have the turbos fitted.
-
They wont have the same power. A mild VRT will have 350bhp and similar torque, an R32 wont be near that. R32 probably suits the chassis better overall but for all out I would say VRT every time. I had a 24v Corrado before this and whilst its not quite the same they were not even remotely in the same league.
-
I know what you mean, cars need the right seats. These will hopefully be in my RS soon (with the RS4 blackened). Out of interest what mpg are you getting or what about mile to a tank as these have bigger tanks than the Mk5?
-
I have to admit I didnt like these when they were realtively new but Ive grown to like them now. Im even contemplating one as a daily.....I have to keep my oil company customers in buisness!!!!
-
Wonder if there are any rear ended TT-RS's going about......
-
Yeah it was the gold old 12v. Im sure its not cost effective but it would be a nice project. Theres a local guy who has a homebrew Mk2 Syncro with a turbo'd 4motion and he had blown a few inlet and his bonnet bore the scars. Just wondering if you even have to decomp them. Im sure Kev will have looked at this.
-
Anybody looked into a turbo'd 2.8? I loved the bootom end pull of my 24v conversion and adding a turbo would be great, Im assuming the inlet is one of the limiting factors.
-
Always wanted a GT Zasker LE in blue with the 3 spoke carbon wheels.
-
You aint going to get one of them for 5k though.
