  1. Very niche car, you really have to like the Corrado to spend that amount of money on one. Its not really a car that you can sell to someone, they have to pretty much want it. I was the same when I bought my old red one but I dont regret it at all. Its nice having a car that very few others in the country have. To me its worth having as the price its at you shouldnt loose any money in the long run. Not many cars you can buy that will do that. The forged internals are a big selling point IMO.
  2. If its as squeaky clean as it looks then it is worth a fair bit. Its got some real nice bits on it.
  3. If you dont like rust I wouldnt touch a Mk2!!! If youre going that old get a Mk1 or even a Mk1 Scirocco. How about a Mk1 elise with 1.8T or even R32 it? I like the idea of a 964 as well.
  4. I did that when the turbo drove away, too late by then though. I think my exact words were "What the f*ck have I just done". You live and learn as they say.
  5. Well Ive done it again, swapped the 120d for a 130i as the diesel was really starting to get on my nerves. Until I start doing a lot of miles Im not owning another one. 130i is basically the same but lovely smooth inline 6cyl. Anyway back to the Corrado. Thats more than a year Ive had it and realised it quite a long time since I actually did any work on it. Currently sitting in the garage on SORN and the plan is the following next weekend: 1. Oil and filter Change. 2. Gearbox oil change. 3. Fit short shift. 4. Fit Jay engine mounts. 5. Fit baffled sump + new gasket. 6. Clean up 288mm brakes (maybe fit) 7. Clear Laminx the front lights/fogs. 8. Fix uprated loom. Few more things to do but they can wait. Oh and tried the wheels on but didnt like them but Ive pretty much sold them on already.
  6. Bought these the other week, tried them on the car and not keen on the look. I was going to repaint or sand the face but didnt want to ruin someones hard work. The insets are gloss black, the join lines are not perfect but only noticeable up close. Faces will need going over with some metal polish to get them perfect. Tyres are all brand new 195/45/16's. Maxxis is the make, they are quite good make. 6.5in wide ET43 £280
  7. The good thing about the C is that is still feels relatively modern when comparing to the likes of the Mk1's and Mk2's. I bought a Mk2 a few years back after a 10 year gap and couldnt believe how old it felt even though it was around the same age as my Corrado. If you want a fairly new feeling, reasonably practical but smart looking older VW then the Corrado fits the bill. Oh and they tend not to rust as bad as Mk1's or Mk2's.
  8. Was looking at A5 VUS for the Audi due to the colour. Cheap but not sure if it would just look silly or maybe R54 AVS if it was available. If I can find C10 ULL I would buy it.
  9. Nice one, didnt know about this site and have been thinking about a plate.
  10. Well after giving up the bike racing and selling my bike I couldnt resist and bought the wagner 3in DP's for the RS. Getting Viper Tuning to remap it as well. It sounds amazing now inside the car and by god does it pick up well now. I bloody love this car. The Corrado has been neglected and will be sorned and garaged for a few months now but I have managed to get some new wheels for it. Local add on ebay with brand new tyres so cheeky bid was put in won it. Picking them up tomorrow. The faces are polished and insets black but I might get some wet and dry on the faces to make them a satin finish.
  11. With 4wd, no wheel spin and all that torque Im putting my money on that. Im sure the 1st/2nd is one piece as well so it could be nasty.
  12. With a turbo its most likely one of the gears has given up due to the torque, what gear were you in?
  13. Ive seen it in the metal and I didnt think it looked as good.
  14. I got a set of 17in steels with Continental winters on so Im sorted. Dont know what exact model they though. 1M aside Im not a fan of the coupes.
  15. Winter tyres man!! Then it will be ace fun.
  16. Nice car, beemers do feel much better than the equivalent VW's. Not feeling the hate for 1 series guys, its a bloody ace car and the looks are not that bad. Will be interesting to here how you get on the Viezu stuff as Im either getting mine mapped or swapping it for a 130i I think.
  17. Its the 2.7 V6 Bi-turbo, same as mine. He has done a bit to it though, dont know exact spec but its probably hybrid RS6 turbos, intercooler upgrade and injector/fuel pump and mapped. TBH he probably wasnt giving it full throttle until the runway and you can see how it takes off. I think it was 193mph but thats down to standard gearing. Needs a different 6th to get over 200mph but it is possible. Crica 500bhp in one of these will give you 185mphish but the in gear accel is awsome. They just dont stop pulling in every gear. Not bad for a 10year old estate car!!! If your on standard gearing you will probably wont get much more than you did I would have thought.
  18. Mmm, looks like you were up against Jimbo. What did you get? His car is a beast but just shows what the old estates can do.
  19. Saw this on ebay today and thought the engine didnt look quite right. Remembered Tedman had one that colour from PSI and right enough its the same car so just to warn folks its a 4mo engine thats in the car not an R32. I have asked the guy if he knows exactly what engine is in it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORRADO-VR6-R32-/271058834973?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f1c5d961d http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?38457-24v-VR6-OEM/page9 ---------- Post added at 8:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:36 PM ---------- Got a reply, its apparently got an R32 crank in it to increase stroke.
  20. Fookin hell, someone has more money than sense!!
  21. If youve never been you will enjoy it. Ive been loads of times but you do notice the lack of investment in the forces when it comes to displays. Vulcan is worht it though.
  22. Bummer, needs must sometimes. Sell me the wheels before you do....:)
  23. Does look very nice. If you think about selling the exhaust I would probaby be interested.
