Search for Bally's blue Corrado as it had grey RC's fitted personally they look better in silver as I had on my old one. -

Space them out? Its probably the flat face of the RC's against the slight concave of the OZ's. -
Looking good. Im actually going the other way and just taxed mine today to get it out the garage.

I will be honest and spend a couple of thousand extra on already modified one unless you really want a standard car. Audisrs is the best forum for these. -

Cat back & remap. That should yeild 430bhp. Chassis wise rear ARB and possibly front brake upgrade. Easy other mods are then downpipes and suspension which will then push up power (and torque) to 470bhp ish. You then get into meth kits, intercoolers, fuel pump and injectors which will take it over 500-530bhp. Add some hybrid or Loba Turbos to the mix and it will get closer to 600bhp. All relatively simple and the car can easily handle the power. -

Gearbox syncro's on early cars can go between 1st and 2nd so may have had that. Id be interested as to why the engine went, possibly tensioner issues as Ive seen one other that did that. Turbo's can go and its an engine out job to change. Thats about the right price for a standard car at the moment, probably just wants rid of as the are generally solid so people dont tend to base buying one on mileage now. Its a good base car but none of the almost necessary mods done. Alcantara wheel, carbon inlays and H-tech seats as well which are relatively rare and all work well together. Still thinking of the H-itechs for mine. -

They are an utter bargin just now. I really cant see them getting any lower. There are a few for sale at the moment that have had some serious dough spent on them and running safe circa 600bhp @ around £13k. That will save all the major costs as well and they are pretty damn reliable. Ive done about 7kmiles in mine this year and spent about £400 on servicing that including two new rear calipers. The S4's are also seriously good and you can have a K04'd one of them for roughly half the price of a RS. They generally produce more torque for a given spec due to the different head design, they just lack the top end pull. Put it this way, check out the Vmax hall of fame - http://www.vmax200.com/results.php Look the list and what cars appear amongst the Porker etc. The humble S4/RS4. -

Oh and here is a graph to show the difference between my current VR with Schimmels, my old VRT on 1bar boost and the current RS4 readings. I think its tell the story!! -

Might do them silver but I'll fit them and see first. Should be this weekend as Im taxing it today and tucking the RS in the garage over the winter. On that I had it on the RR at the weekend with some dissapointing initial results. The peak power was down but after comparing graphs you can see the difference the downpipes have made. Mid range boost! Previous run had very high drivetrain losses so I corrected it. Power tailed of sharply as I think EGT's were getting high. Will log it out and get Viper to check it out but it should be arouns 470bhp peak. It just piles on speed in the mid range like you wouldnt believe. Oh and I wasnt taking to the dark wheel colour so sprayed them silver, looks much better. -
Do that. Suspension is not that hard to replace, just make sure you have the right tools. Ive got AP as well and for the money they are excellent.

No that was TH2, these are TH mono. Piece of **** to clean and will hide the puny brakes. The car aint going to be a speed machine so I can live with the bigger wheels as I think they will look spot on. -

Im sure they will be very good for brake clearance. Back of them is basically the same as the TH2's and they had loads of clearnace. -
All sound advice, you can get a solar battery charger that work through the cig lighter from Maplin for about £10. Im planning on bringing mine out as the winter fun car, Id say that if the car is not a show car with new paint etc then use it when you can. Seal the underside with something like Por15. I SORn'd mine for a month and its been a long month if Im honest.

Hello, was up your neck of the woods last week but in my RS not the Corrado. Perfect roads for the Corrado over there. Did Applecross and back in a day last year in my Corrado, was a great day.

I have no intentions of selling my current one for a few reasons. 1. I know I would want another, thats been proven already. 2. Its value is not really that significant for me so I can have it sitting around and thats the reason Ive not pumped any huge amount of money into it. Ive not touched a thing on it in over a year. 3. I really like driving it. 4. Its my girlfriends favourite car out of all of them. 5. This forum. 6. Its my only VW now (I vowed to always own at least one at any given time). + many more. I can understand those that want to try other things and this is maybe thier only car, it makes perfect sense then. Ive had loads of different cars but the Corrado's have always been the best overall.

If you want skirts get a sex change or become a scotsman, dont put them near a Corrado!
-
I totally agree in not spending a lot on modifying them now however a ready done one where the original owner has taken the hit is still worth buying. Z3M was something I considered a while back for the reasons above. My daily is now a 6cyl Beemer and its is good fun, particularly when comming off roundabouts. :)
-
They dont get that good an mpg either. Probably 3-5mpg better than the R32 and as you say sound crap when compared to the V6. I would agree an R32 is the best all round engine for the car.
-
Should get more than that. A conversion if done correctly will be no less relaible than a normal car. In fact if you have a newish engine and ancillaries it will probably be more reliable. My 24v gave me no reliablility issues at all. The instant throttle response from the 24v cars is what makes them better IMO.
-
Sound good, no such thing as a highline interior though. Maybe referring to Golf Highlines that had leather. Air con is relatively rare as well. For a VR just check coolant levels and oil when you pick it up then when you get it back. Also take out the spark plugs and check the condition as that will give you a good idea on how its running.

My old one might be up for sale as well I think.
