I was under the impression that taking paint all the way back to bare metal on the whole car can lead to an increased chance of moisture getting trapped on the bare metal and eventually rust coming through after a while. Its a large surface area. I realise you need to get rid of any corrosion however when they paint at the factory Im sure its in sealed and de-humidified booths for this very reason. I could be takling tosh though...

Back to bare metal!!! Thats brave. How long are they taking to do this?
-
So where did it go?

I would sell.

Take a break from it and see if you still want to sell. Thats what I do and it usually work out right either way.

Sitting in Dallas at work, bored. Been driving about in a 2011 Mustang GT, god its slow but makes a nice noise. Havent done anything to the Corrado at all, still got a load of bits to fit but cannot be bothered or have the time to if Im honest. It keeps plodding along. Fitted a Jetex exhaust to the RS, removed the bling mirrors and went satin black along with the grill surround to tie in with the roof bars. Have some anthracite 9x18in wheels on the way from my favourite wheel company, should look pretty good. Some recent photos of it with the car that convinced me to get one after driving it. -
Had a few folks as about these. I have not had time to get near the car and wont anytime soon so the sale is not happening anytime soon.

That the one on the bend heading towards Kingsbarns?

I think its the best NA VR Corrado that there is going. I can imagine its a tough decision but take a break and come back to it. If you do sell I want first dibs on the Compomotives please :) .
-
Mmm, I was looking for a car for the commute.....
-
Excited I bet. Never had a car in for proper paint before but will good to see this back together with all the bits you have.
-
Did you check the lines with the car running? Mine did this recently and it would only weep when the car was running with the lines under pressure.
-
Omellete for lunch then?

Ratios are crap. What the hell have you done to get 350bhp from a G60? Theres a guy with on here with a race preppeed car so might be worth PMing him to see what he has found regarding handling.

They really should be renamed the "Holy Sh_it" car as everyone I took in mine said those words as soon as the loud pedal was pressed. Im very envious.
-
What version do you have? VR box is **** on track.
-
VR6 is probably better I think. Im averaging 26mpg in town in mine and if your only doing short journeys you really need a big stop in MPG to make a noticable difference. Should try running an RS4 as well!!!!
-
3.94 would be a bit to far IMO. 3.68 is certianly worthwhile andas said brings the car alive added with a G60 3rd gear as well as 3rd is too long in a VR.

Mmm, I want some TT comps now.

Heat gun!!!

Youve obviously never been to Aberdeen. Every mink and his brother has a Subaru with a dustbin exhaust on it. I completely agree about the Classic near standard examples now though. A lot of car for the money and a lot more practical if you get the wagon version.
-
I asked a few questions about it. Seemed a very nice car and well put together. Comapred the RR graph to my old one and it was pretty much identical, should be a lot more fun when fully mapped.
