  1. Some great photos. Its comment like that above that make me wonder why I sold mine. It is so much fun when you surpise folk in a "simple" Corrado. Glad you have it fully caged.
  2. Yeah it was a guy called Biggerbignben (sp) that did the conversion for his mate. He previosuly built a lovely 4wd 1.8T, TVR dashed blue Corrado. http://www.coupehaus.com/ Thats a decent price, if it was a different colour I might have put in an offer.
  3. This car will end up newer than when it rolled out the factory. Still need to satisfy my silver VR itch I think.
  4. British Rallycross is on at Knockhill that Sunday.
  5. Speaking from experince Id say try what you can to keep it original as possible unless your going all out on the car and intend on keeping it for a long time. I dont regret getting my 24v conversion and I still maintain its a better engine than the 12v but unless your doing everything yourself you will loose out on a lot of money and find it harder to sell the car.
  6. What gearbox are you running to get that speed!!! Impressive figures, they do handle those speeds very well. I maxed mine out and it felt very stable but that was probably 20mph down on your figures.
  7. Can I interlope in the Rocco? Might see if there is a few of the Aberdeen punters up for it.
  8. My very first Corrado looking a bit sorry for itself. Havent seen it for about 10years. It had an AMD chip and Sebring exhausts on it, not anymore by the looks of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1994-VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-GREEN-/220844345496?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item336b594898
  9. Havent touched the car yet, still enjoying driving it. Ive got some H&R springs to fit. Im probably going to wait till after the winter to get a map although Revo are doing a discount at the moment. I'll probably go for them down to ease and popularity but would be willing to try out something else if you hear good things. Still cant make my mind up on what wheels to go for. Car looks good by the way.
  10. They are cheap for a reason now. Im still looking for a another car to tinker around with in the £1-1500 range and TBH most of the Corrado's VR's in that range knowing what I know are just going to be a lot of hassle. There are a few decent looking ones but there the other end of the country, Im not travelling that far for a car that cheap. Im even looking at Mk2's but they are even worse, there all rusting away!!
  11. Im afraid thats about the right price at the moment. It does have the grey interior as well which IMO doesnt help.
  12. Ive been looking for a project / muckabout / winter car to tinker with and may have found a Corrado that fits the bill. Apparently its a Cat C but its never had the VIC check carried out. The guy said the V5 was ID'd but I dont know what that means. I suspect it should really should have been a Cat D but we all know the price of Corrado panels hence why it was put to a CAT C. Anyone ever bought one and had hassle with insurance or other issues?
  13. You can do that, I ran liners on the red one and it had pulled front wings. They didnt fly off at 160mph so you should be fine.
  14. Having given mine a good spanking over the weekend I can safely say they are awesome cars. The handling is sublime and the adjustable suspension really works. Buying mine and adding in the costs of a remap, wheels and some springs I will still be way less than half of the basic Cayman plus I have two extra seats and a decent boot. Are they worth the extra premium over a Mk5 Gti, yes. Im even getting 35mpg average. I should have bought one years ago!!!
  15. Whats the manifold its on? If its an escort cossie turbo its probably a bit too small for the VR.
  16. Aye they do look good - http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/ppstt/lester02.jpg http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad288/ppstt/lester04-e1277828745505.jpg Just fancy something that no one has done before.
  17. Thats looks not bad. Will sell the S4 first before thinking about them though.
  18. The snowflakes above are a possibility plus that would retain the tyres. Original set are £1100 and only do them in silver insets at the moment. I can get the gunmetal insert reps for £500 but no black inserts like those are available. VMR's are nice as well. Ive even seen a set of Rotiform BLQ's that look good on them, bit scene though.
  19. No black wheels for me, there a bit too Vauxhall now I think. Merc Alphards are quite nice but finding a set that are not silly money is hard. Tiguan 19in are possibles as they are the proper PCD and use OE bolts.
  20. 2l Turbo as per Golf Gti. Feels slightly quicker than the Golf I had.
  21. They look ok on certain cars but not good on the Scirocco. That was a layby the photo was taken in on a dualler. Quite like the new 19in option that a lot of the newer ones are on but there still big bucks. Another one was the 19in reps of the standard wheels. H&R springs on there way from Germany as we speak. Its like the later Corrados, they need beaten with the lowering stick!!!
  22. Cheers. I wasnt sure on the red but I really like it in the metal plus its not the usual blue / white that you see going about. Kind of plays homage to the old bus as well. Wonder if Compo do 18in TH2's......
  23. Picked this up today from Listers in Nuneaton. Very nice folks to deal with and some smoking hot ladies working there as well!! Anyway back to the car, always liked these and thought I bought a Sumatra grey local one but the boy sold it elsehwere despite pretty much doing a deal. Saw this and managed to get a good deal with a few things thrown my way which swayed me towards the red. The car has just clicked over 10kmiles so its just like new. Had a few extras added which I didnt know about so that was a bonus. The car is very very capable and a fitting sucessor to the Corrado in my opinion. I will probably change the sprinsg to keep the ACC dampers, remap at some point and me being me Im sure a different set of wheels will go on. Thought about those 18in snowflakes to keep the Rocco theme.
