Had 2 Golfs and they are great cars. Only need uprated suspension and thats about it. Only thing that really goes are the coilpacks. 4wd is amazing in the snow, dont expect anymore that 30mpg, average about 26mpg.

Yeah that what it is, I read that post the other day. The noise is bizzare from the vid on the rollers.
-
Ohh, PM me with how much you want for them.
-
Looks like Im on the stand on Sat unless someone wants to swap.
-
Almost bought them myself, great design of wheel.
-
What brakes do you have? If it is standard then 1mm is fine IMO.
-
Very nice, only thing Id do is paint the mesh grill black or at least body colour.

Still on track for this and looks like it will be my only trip south this year. Sprint and handling course will be given a go. Im on clubgti region stand on Sat and Corrado Club on Sunday. Anybody else going on the stand on Sunday?

Welcome, there is a lot of Corrado owners popping up in Scotland now.

Are most rados generally past it / riddled with rust?

What lies beneath!!! They are genrally quite good. I think a lot of things are hidden and if we started stripping back the underseal it would not be as good as we think. Look at Mk2 Golf's, they always seemed to be ok but its pretty much impossible to find one with no rust now. What scares me even more is newer cars from VW. I looked at 5 Mk5 golfs this weekend and only one didnt have rust on it. It was shocking how bad some of these cars were that were only 5 years old or maybe they are starting to reduce the life shorter so we buy more often. Doesnt bode well for future classics. -
First F1 race Ive watched for a good while and it was certianly entertaining. That marshall was falling over twice made my day. What a plonker!!!

I tend to agree, I think that the tube and dipstick from an R32 has to be used as well with the sump.
-
2 years is a long time for things to corrode so im not surprised.
-
Ditto.
-
Been there, done that. Rose tinted specs Im afraid. The Mk2 feels so old / basic / flimsy compared to the Corrado, a Mk1 must be even more so.
-
Nice to have an option to change. Everytime I see this thread I just want to go back to a near standard VR.
-
Ive got 10mm hubcentric ones and they work fine. Just get them and keep them, very OE looking.

Corrado National Day 2011

Possibly although I might tie it in with a visit to my brother before / after. No idea, just something completely different. Possibly a Z3M, TVR or similar. -
Corrado National Day 2011

Im going to try and make it down for this as well. Will probably my last outing for with C as Ive decided to sell start selling it in late summer. -
Those would look a lot better in silver I think. There is a set of CH's on ed38. The guy is looking for swaps only at the moment though.
-
I saw them and didnt buy them because of the concerns you raise. They should sit ok on the car, standard is ET43 on a 6.5in wheel. Centrebore could be an issue as Subaru is smaller. Maybe get some spacers that fit the VW hub with a hubcentric bit for these wheels to sit on. 10-15mm will be fine.

how much bhp is to much? how about 900+ rwd r32 turbo

Same guy has just built a lovely red 24v Corrado on 17in BBS CH's. -
Not really. That below the norm for Aberdeen city, if its got power and lights your speaking about £120+ a month. I got a deal through a friend of a friend and it still costs me £50 a month thats without power or lights. Location location location. Dont sell the wheels and brakes just yet. See if there is any interest first or you could sell them and use that money to either get the paint fixed or pay for a lock up for a wee while so you can think it over properly.
