  1. That picture of Kip arriving is great! Did that photographer manage to find a picture of your STORM Judith?
  2. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you'll jinx it! If you throw in a set of mats it's a deal. I'll tell you what, I'll do the mats at cost price and we'll call it a deal. Have you considered taking guaranteed asset protection on your new vehicle sir?
  3. Come see me mate. I'll do you a good deal.... :norty: Liked your famous last words today. "Hopefully my corrado won't need any more parts ever". That's the bravest sentence I've heard for a long time!
  4. your ass? good progress btw :D He said £900 not £9. £8.50 with CF discount. My ass is not open to negotiation and it certainly isn't subject to any discount.
  5. I hate kerbing wheels. Makes me feel sick thinking about it. :(
  6. I'm trying to think if there is a woman in the world that I wouldn't walk straight passed to get behind the wheel of that thing. Er, my girlfriend of course....
  7. Things aren't that bad.... Yet.... Sorry toad.
  8. It's endless mate. Too much to write. Just considering my options. Thinking what I own that I can sell to raise some cash!
  9. Priced up my shopping list of engine and suspension/steering parts. I'm not gonna have much change from 900 quid. And that includes my discount but doesn't include an intercooler or a rad. Don't expect this car back on the road any rime soon guys!!!
  10. Here's mine: It's a work in progress....
  11. Update from this morning. I have knackered myself out already. Feel like I need to go back to bed now. Not helped by the fact that it is really dark and rainy today. Cylinder head is off and stripped. Alternator and charger are off. Here are some pictures: Nice studs.... At least I don't need a new water pump. :D Think I might change this mount. Not a lot left to do now before I start cleaning everything up in the bay. The block is surprisingly good and won't require too much work. Need to drop the subframe out once I can get hold of an engine support and a sling or two. Stu, looks like I may need your subframe after all. Oh, and I need to get the crankshaft pulley bolts off. They a being b*stards, Should have really got them off before now when I had brakes to be honest. Oh well. Worst case they will just have to wait until that lot is back together again.
  12. Want to get done as soon as I can but at the same time I'm taking it slowly. I've got really far with this project and so far managed to avoid my usual catalogue of errors and I think that's because I've paced myself a lot better than I usually do. I have a day off today so by the end of today the cylinder head will be off!
  13. Check out the diagrams from my old G60 brochure: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=82350&p=953984&hilit=brochure#p953984
  14. Pretty sure I've decided on bottom half staying in. For now.... I'm starting to get a clearer picture in my head of what I'm doing with this car now. Which is good. The offer of a replacement cylinder head on OU has helped no end. :D
  15. I'm not sure what to do with the bottom end. It's pretty sound. Just needs a new sump gasket and I want to check the oil pump out after speaking with Stu. One of the guys at work has explained the awesome technique of getting the bottom half of an engine out without it being attached to the top half. I'm gonna get the head off tomorrow and worry about the bottom end later. I can't really think of anything I need to do to it though and I don't want to start messing around with it for the sake of it. People are starting to call me girls names in the course of general conversation over the phone and in person now. Think I'm stuck with it for the rest of my life! The new Rocco obviously feels very different to a Rado. They are seperated by 20 years of automotive development after all. It's a little unfair to compare the two really. But I will always need a Rado no matter what other car I have.
  16. Am I the only person in the world who's G60 still has a boost return? Looking good. I used to have a white G60 but it was way rattier than yours. Nice find!
  17. I can't wait to have mine back on the road. Not being able to drive it is killing me. :(
  18. Really good to meet you too mate. We'll have to have a get together or summit once everyone's cars are back together. I love them. They feel completely different to a Golf. Much lighter and much more composed IMO. I find them really comfortable too. Seats in the back are still a bit token though as although you have good leg room there is still no head room. And the adaptive chassis control actually does make a difference. You never put in "normal" though so they should really just have "comfort" and "sport". I will definitely have one one day I'm sure. Even before I worked for VW I never did get all the naysaying. It's an excellent car and turns lots of heads! 8)
  19. Someone called me Joe?! Holy sh!t.... They were convinced to lend me the Scirocco because of my immense driving prowess. They couldn't say no.  Unfortunately it's the 140 PS Diesel DSG so I'm kind of over it now really. 2.0 TSI all the way. 8) But we don't have one of those at the moment so I have to content myself with a mk6 GTi whenever I want some turbo petrol fun. Life's a beeeatch.
  20. I know quite a few police officers and they all say if you slow down to the speed limit whilst they're pointing the gun at you they usually don't bother nabbing you. Also they pick a point above the speed limit and nab everyone doing over that. Literally because someone doing 76 isn't worth the paperwork. So just because you were speeding doesn't necessarily mean you'll get done for it. As already said you're just in for a long two weeks I'm afraid matey.
  21. Like it. Always good to see another G60 on here. :D Any more plans or just gonna enjoy it?
  22. Really happy with my progress this morning. Got the inlet manifold off. Was really easy. Must be my long spindly arms.... Also, and perhaps more importantly I managed to get all six exhaust manifold to downpipe nuts off too. Also without any real fuss. Must be the practice I've had recently.... One slightly annoying thing is one of the studs that attaches the exhaust manifold to the head is missing. :epicfail: Some piccies: To anyone that has every removed an engine/cylinder head this is a heart warming sight indeed: All I need to do now is decided if the whole engine is coming out or just the cylinder head. Every time I make up my mind on that I swiftly change it! Anyway, as much as I'd love to spend all day getting covered in oil and fuel I'm going out now to play with this funny shaped car I stole from work.
  23. I think there only £35! Yeah, but they're a pain in the ass to do aren't they?
  24. Sh!t. I'd forgotten about the bias valve. :( Another thing to add to my list.
