Anyone Know How to Sell a Number Plate????
Sonicriot13 replied to rado-steve's topic in General Car Chat
You're just jealous cos you don't have one.  To be honest if it was only worth £50 I'd be happy with that! It's £50 I didn't have before and I haven't had to do anything to get it. 8) -
Anyone Know How to Sell a Number Plate????

They value it at a retail sale of £699!!!!! :cuckoo: Bit on the pricey side I say!!! Mine's ranged so far from £400 to £1500 (the latter being considerably more than I paid for the whole car) depending on whether or not they think they have someone that would be interested in it. Just got as many valuations as possible. Apparently mine is good because the two numbers are the same. Bit of a result really. :D It may be worth getting someone like reg transfers to sell it for you and at the same time maybe advertising it privately. -

That's cool dude. Is that what you'd get for it private sale or is that what you'd get back if somewhere like reg transfers sold it on your behalf? -

Oooooh, how much is yours worth? Just had mine valued too. 8) J22 AMC which apparently looks like James?! Was very pleasantly surprised so the sale of the Golf is on hold at the moment. Done an HPI and the original plate was J379 MRO so I'm assuming that just goes back onto it or if that's not available they allocate another J plate. I think that is also the case if the plate was the original one. I think the DVLA just allocate another plate with no need to purchase another cherished one. But that is just an assumption. Best ask them I suppose. -
Yes, I did too. That's interesting....

Yeah yeah, we all know what a Reliant Robin is made from but what did he use to convert it into a landspeeder?
-
True, I'm not saying they're not worth it just that I can't afford them at the moment. :(

What useless pile of Crap has he bought now........

Aye! You don't realise what you have there. You have a corrado with a fully functional heater matrix. Shame be brought upon you if you bust it up. -
Yeah, dan garwood is trying to get one organised. It's in the events section on here. I'm hoping to go but my G60 is gIving me grief at the moment. I'm sure you'll get through an MOT dude. They are an inconvenience though! So what else have you got planned for her?
-
Hello matey, how you doing? Good to see the Rado up on here. This is a pretty clean car. 8) You going to the rolling road day in Ipswich?
-
Yes, quite a few people seem to think the best choice of wheels just happen to be the spare set they have laying around. I don't want to go five stud anyway. VR6s are five stud, not G60s.

That is rather sexual Jim. I had a look at some white ones yesterday. Not sure if I'd put white ones on my car but they looked so smart. They're just way over budget this time round. And the chances of second hand 4x100s coming up are pretty slim I reckon. I agree, I reckon once they were on my car they'd look good. If I'd just bought them and posted pictures up after I'd fitted them some of you guys would be feeling them a lot more I'm willing to bet.

Well, my attention has been drawn away from the wheels again. Hit a bit of a snag. I can't get the new FLANGE to seal properly. To start with it was leaking worse than the old FLANGE! I've cleaned it up as much as I could but the FLANGE still leaks. Could the cylinder HEAD have corroded due to a slow leak over a really long period of time therefore being utterly foobarred never to seal properly again no matter how new the FLANGE or O-RING is? The part of the HEAD that mates with the FLANGE does look like it's seen better days....

 Top work that man!   I think the word flange has been used a number of times in this thread, yes. I do like Team Dynamics. I had some of those on my first G60. I just want something different though, and something tht aaaaaaaaaa The a key just broke on my keyboard! B*staaaaaaaaards! :bad-words: Anyway, I'll soldier on. I wnt something that I've chosen myself tht nobody else has on their Corrdo. I've hd the very kind offer of some stndrd BBSs tht will tide me over nicely (ie. allow me to ditch the steelies) until I decide/save up.

Man, no accounting for taste I suppose. Can't wait to get them.... I'll tell you what whilst I'm doing all of this it's very tempting to just stop p!ssing around fixing all these little things and skimping on paint jobs and stuff and just go the whole hog and start doing what I've wanted to do to it since I got it. I really want to rebuild it. Like, properly rebuild it.

All you non-believers! Another option may have just fallen into my lap.... I'll keep you posted. :norty: 8)

Hmmmm... for all your Jap bashing you do occasionally make a good point. I suppose I should see them in the metal first. But I have spoken to my wheel guru and he says they are actually very good. Especially for £200. Although (perhaps) tellingly he doesn't stock them....
-
You're freakin out deviant. They are not JapRicer wheels and even if they were I still like them. A couple of people have suggested RCs. I've looked at those speedlines too and I don't think I'd be able to go new this time around on either those or the BBS due to budget constraints. Although they would of course both look awesome I'd have to wait for second hand ones to come up = PITA. Those Inovit "JapRicer" wheels I can get spanking for 200 notes. May just pick those up and save for something else over winter ready for next summer. Dude they're called Inovit Manics. See, even the name suits me.
-
Have you still got the pic?
-
Hmmmm... the wheels aren't getting much love. Knew it was a bad idea to ask you guys. I'm gonna stick with the same colour. I actually really like Tornado red when it's in good nick! Wish I could say that!

I'm waiting on some quotes for the paintwork before commiting to the wheels but these are my favourite so far. 8) Was planning on some BBS but these just caught my eye. They have the right blend of simplicity and detail for me. Thanks for the comment about my flange. You should see my shiny new one! :norty:

I'm quite taken with these. Always thought Rados look quite good on 5 spokes. Looks like they're only available in 15" and 17". Ideally I'd probably want 16s!

Thing is mechanics are (mostly) professionaly trained people. It would be a bit like renting out a surgical ward to members of the public. A garage is a dangerous place. Lots of heavy things, poisonous things, and tools that can kill you if used incorrectly or abused.

Ah go and clean the oil out your charger! It's not oil... it's PTFE lubricant.
